Abstract

This paper aims to build a palmprint recognition system based on Android. Line detection and non-overlapping blocks methods used on the design of palmprint recognition system. Normalized Euclidean distance was used to match the two feature vector. The similarity degrees was measured by the smallest value. The method was applied to the system can result an accuracy rate about 91,32% (FMR = 5,2%, FNMR = 3,68%, T = 0,265). System testing was done as much as 2500 times to the 50 participants with 3 reference images of each user. The factor that influenced on system accuracy was the process of image acquisition. Palmprint images was taken directly by using camera on the android smartphone device.

Abstract

The greater numbers of internet users the greater challenge will be tackled by ISP to provide good services but gain maximum profit. By analyzing Cobb-Douglass utility function we will obtain optimal pricing scheme. Wu and Banker analyzed modified Cobb-douglass utility function and obtained optimal model of flat fee and two part tariff for homogen consumers meanwhile we focus on getting optimal pricing scheme model by using original Cobb-Douglass utility function. The first step to conduct this research is by formulating Cobb-Douglass utility function then analyzing that function. The results show that we obtain optimal pricing scheme model for homogenous and heterogeneous consumer cases. The two-part tariff pricing scheme yield better optimal solution rather than flat fee and two-part tariff pricing scheme regarding with homogen consumers and heterogen consumers based on willingness to pay. For heterogeneous consumers based on consumption level, the optimal pricing scheme is on two-part tariff pricing scheme.

Abstract

An improvement neural network adaptive control strategy is put forward for X-Y position platform with uncertainty by the paper. Firstly, dynamics model of X-Y position platform is established. Then, RBF neural network with good learning ability is used to approach non-linear system. The early period control accuracy of the problem is considered by the paper, because good precision in the early period is difficult to be obtained by neural network controller, so PID controller is designed to compensate control. An improvement dynamic optimization adjustment algorithm of network weights is designed to speed up the learning speed. Simulation results show that the control method is more effective to improve the control precision and real-time and has a good application value.

Abstract

Telemedicine promises a great opportunity for health care service improvement. However, it has several issues for its implementation in certain area. They include communication service quality, infrastructure and operational cost. Since Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is designed to reduce the infrastructure cost and operational cost, an investigation of network performance for implementation of telemedicine is required.  In this paper, a simulation to investigate the wireless mesh network quality of service.  Using network simulator 2, The QoS performance analysis was performed in different routing protocol scenarios of proposed system. It showed that OLSR protocol for Mesh Network maintained the time transfer of the EPT data. The field testing of the proposed system to measure the distance with various time has already been done.  The infrastructure has been also implemented using low cost 5.8 GHz transceiver for backhauls and low cost 2.4 GHz transceiver for clients.  Test result shows that the low cost telemedicine system is able to do real time communication between patient and medical staff with medical data rate up to 2 Mbps. It shows that telemonitoring system using wireless mesh network can give a low cost application in emergency time with acceptable medical data transfer quality.

Abstract

Online publication of scientific papers by the colleges aims to improve the dissemination and access by the public and the industry to the research result. OAI-PMH standard 2.0 is a protocol that allows the publication metadata exposed by a data provider can be harvested online by a service provider without any human intervention . A publication portal that is equipped with metadata exposure will increase the access and wider spread through the services provider. This study aims to developing a publications repository application completed with meta data exposure facility based on OAI-PMH 2.0 that running on Google App Engine. Google App Engine is a PaaS service provided by Google. Application development is done using SDLC approach, and using OOAD at the analysis and design phases. The purpose of the application is to publish scientific papers by lecturers at STMIK IBBI named Portal Garuda STMIK IBBI. Based on the results of testing using OAI-PMH Validator, BASE OAI-PMH Validator, and successful registration of portal Garuda STMIK IBBI in OpenArchive.org, OpenDOAR, and the ROAR, as well as the result rating reaching 95% by WebArchivability, it is believed that the application is complies with OAI-PMH standard 2.0 and the W3C standard. By implementation of the application will help higher education institutions meet the obligations of the scientific paper publication that can be accessed online as well as letter of Dikti number 2050/ET/2011.

Abstract

When an electrical machine suffered a mechanical fault, it generally emits certain sounds. These sounds came from the vibration. Therefore, based on the vibration, it could be detected if there was a mechanical fault in an electrical machine. This paper discussed the graphical display of the vibration of electrical machines in the form of household water pumps which were in good condition, faulty bearing, faulty impeller, or faulty foot valve. Vibration could be displayed in the time domain, or in the frequency domain, by using the three axes, i.e. X, Y, and Z. In the frequency domain, the vibration could be displayed at various frequency resolutions. Based on the observations, the higher frequency resolution, the lower detail in the graphical display of frequency domain would be shown. Although there was lower detail in the graphical display of frequency domain, at frequency resolution of 11.7 Hz in the X axis, showed that it could be visually distinguished among water pumps which were in good condition, faulty bearing, faulty impeller, or faulty foot valve.

Abstract

This paper discussed the new improved and modified internet pricing scheme in multiservice networks [1]. This new improved scheme is created to set up the  base price, quality premium and Quality of service (QoS). This scheme has the purposes to help Internet Service Provider (ISP) in maximizing the revenue and contribute better quality of service to the users. The objective function will be formed to set up the base price and quality premium as a vaiable or a constant. The models used are in nonlinear forms and solved by using LINGO 11.0 to get the optimal solution. The results show that for each cases of improved scheme, ISP gets better optimal solutions by varying or fixing the base price and quality premium.
