Abstract

The aim of this study was to select aquatic plants in Sebangau river that has ability to absorb Iron (Fe) from waters. The Concentration of Fe in the roots and leaves of aquatic plants were measured using AAS (atomic absorption spectrophotometer). The results showed that the highest accumulation of Fe was in Hanguana malayana root which reached 36967.93 ± 20951.50 mg/Kg or 3.53 times of Fe concentration in Pandanus helicopus root and 3.26 times of Echinocloa stagnina root. Echinocloa stagnina has the highest Fe transfer factor reaching 0.0224 and has potential for phytoremediation of Fe. Key words : Iron (Fe), Aquatic plants, Sebangau river, peat waters, phytoremediation.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the pattern of broiler chicken consumption and know the influence of income factor, education and number of family members to the pattern of broiler chicken meat consumption at Sei Asam village, Kapuas regency. The research was done by using survey method and direct interview to the field, data analysis technique with statistical test multiple linier. The results showed variable income, education and number of a family member simultaneously significantly influence consumption pattern of broiler chickens meat. The partial variable of income significantly influence the pattern of broiler chicken consumption, while the variable of education and number of family members do not give influence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the rate of growth of Sangkuriang Catfish that kept in tarpaulin pond with the provision of probiotics EM4. This study used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 3 treatment with 3 replications The treatments used in this study were :Treatment A = Dose EM4 given as much as 15ml/liter of water, Treatment B = Dose EM4 given as much as 10 ml/liter of water and Treatment C = not given EM4. The results of this study showed that better treatment were the treatment of A and B. While for the C treatment slightly inhibited for the growth of Sangkuriang Catfish. Water quality of tarpaulin ponds during the maintenance of Sangkuriang Catfish shows the condition of temperature, DO and pH that could still been tolerated and feasible for the growth of Sangkuriang Catfish. Key words : Sangkuriang Catfish, probiotic EM4, dose, tarpaulin pond, water quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain innovative diversified products that are highly nutritious with the physical quality that can be recommended. The research activities include physical test by using folding test. Folding test is one of the test of fish gel quality (Kamaboko) which is done by cutting the sample with a thickness of 3 mm. The sample pieces are placed between the thumb and forefinger, than folded to observe wheter or not there is a crack in the fish gel (Kamaboko). Testing conducted by 10 panelists. In this study using the 4 treatment such as : Treatment O without the addition of corn starch (control) + tapioca flour 10 %, treatment A with addition of corn starch 2 % + tapioca flour 8 %, treatment B with addition of corn starch 6 % + tapioca flour 4 %, and treatment C with addition of corn starch 10 %. The highest folding test value is in the treatment A with the composition of corn starch 2 % and tapioca flour 8 %. Key words : Kamaboko, eel fish, tapioca flour, corn starch

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the herbal plants which effective to increase the survival of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seed. The treatments of this experiment were addition of extract ciplukan leaf, sweet potato leaf, betel leaf, and without addition extract herbal as control. The results of this study showed that the use of extract of ciplukan leaf, and sweet potato leaf 5ml/L in rearing media during acclimatization could increase the survival of tilapia seed. Key words : Oreochromis niloticus, ciplukan leaf, sweet potato leaf, betel leaf, survival rate.

Abstract

This research studied to know the effect of feed cassava flour (Manihot utilissima Pohl.). This research was designed by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and Variant Analysis (ANOVA), if the obtained data showed significant differences then tested further using HSD test α = 5%. Four (4) treatment that P0 (feed control treatment), P1 (feed treatment 95% + 5% cassava flour), P2 (feed treatment 90% + 10% cassava flour) and P3 (feed treatment 85% + 15% cassava flour) and five replication each replication consists 4 quail. The result showed not significant (P>0.05) on all treatments, but the substitution 5% of cassava flours still consumed by quail without rising negative effects. Key words : Cassava flour, feed, performance, quail males.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of ectoparasites that attack mangrove crabs and calculate the level of intensity of ectoparasites attacks on mangrove crabs (Scylla serrata) that rearing at the Sagintung village pond. This research was conducted in July - August 2017. Samples of mangrove crabs taken as many as 100 tail. The results of the observation were 4 species of Protozoa namely Zoothamnium sp, Epistylis sp, Vortecella sp and 1 species of Arthropoda namely Octolasmis sp. Intensity of ectoparasite attack on carapace 8.0%, swimming legs 2%, legs 2% and gills 87%. The total intensity attack of Zoothamnium sp., Epistylis sp., Vorticella sp., and Octolasmis sp. were 40%. Abstract

“Wadi” is a processed product of salted fish and added with “samu”, then stored for at least seven days for the fermentation process. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of combination of samu with palm sugar as a medium of growth of lactic acid bacteria in the process of fermentation of carp (Cyprinus carpio), in order to accelerate the fermentation process. The results showed that the combination of samu and palm sugar could accelerate the process of fermentation of carp into three days. The best treatment was combination of 4% samu and 2% palm sugar. Water content test resulted 61.11%; texture 0.143 - 0.152 mm/gr/s; and the mean value of the preferred test level on appearance, odor and taste was 7.6 with criteria favored by panelists. Key words : fermentation, carp (Cyprinus carpio), samu, palm sugar

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of rumen compost on growth and production of Mexican grass (Euchlaena mexicana) on sandy soil and to know the dosage of rumen compost that giving the best result to growth and production of Mexican grass on sandy soil. This research was designed using Completely Randomized Design with single treatment of various doses of rumen compost (R) with 4 replications : r0 = no rumen compost (control), r1 = 10 tons ha-1, r2 = 20 tons ha -1, r3 = 30 tons ha-1 and r4 = 40 tons ha-1. The results of this study showed that rumen compost gave effect to the height of mexican grass plants 6 week after planting and 8 week after planting and crop production. The dosage of 30 ton ha-1 rumen compost gave the best effect to Mexican grass production. Key words : Rumen compost, Mexican grass, response, growth, production.

Abstract

This research aims to know the survival rate of Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus) larvae fed with live and artificial feed. This study used a Randomized Complete Design with three treatments and three replicates. The treatments were feeding of egg yolks (A), feeding of live feed/plankton (B) and feeding of the factory feed (C). The survival rate of Climbing Perch larvae obtained from the highest treatment B (37.33%), followed by treatment A (23.66%) and treatment C (0.00%). Key words : Anabas testudineus, larvae, live feed, survival rate.
