Abstract

The aim of the research was to synchronize the planning of community empowerment block using at PFMU of Sintuwu Maroso Model with factual condition in field and to analyze community responses on the planning of community empowerment block at PFMU of Sintuwu Maroso Model management. Community population were those who settle around the community empowerment block. Community forest at Kilo and Buyumpondoli villages were also sampled.  The respondent number was 50 people who lived around the area of HKm and village forest.  Data were analyzed using comparison analysis, land cover analysis, and the likert scale of 1, 3, and 5.  The research results showed that the community forests at both Kilo and Buyumpondoli villages are suitable for Hkm and village forest. The land of Kilo village Hkm and Buyumpondoli village forest were dominantly covered by dry land such as plantation and bushes.  Based on the likert scale, the criteria for the community empowerment block were that RKTN/RKTP and RKTK should be directed toward forest management at small scale 198 (79%); forest with low product 228 (91%); non forest area 236 (94%); HKm, village forest, and HTR  permit 142 (56%), area close to community 250 (100%); possibility of RKTN/RKTP/RKTK to be included in either rehabilitation region or  big/small scale forest region 144 (57%); and the community responses 220 (88%).  It can be concluded that the criteria and the community responses are classified high.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out the information and determine the influence of teachers’ working motivation, comminication and commitment toward science teachers’ profesionalism in Sabatu Region I Parigi Moutong Regency. This was a quantitative research with survey method. The poulation was the science teachers of SMP in Parigi Moutong Regency Sabatu Region (Sausu, Balinggi and Torue) academic year 2011/2012. The sample was 30 Science teachers. The techique of data collection used questionnaire. The researdh results show that: there was a significart influence of motivation toward Science teacher’ professionalism(ρ=0.000) wich was 67.0%; there was a significant influence of teachers’ comunication toward Science teachers’ professionalism (ρ=0.000) was 55.8%; there was a significant influence of teachers’ commitment toward Science teachers’ professionalism (ρ=0.000) was 68.4%; and there was a significant influence of teachers’ working motivation, teachers’ communication and teachers’ commitment simultaneously toward Science teachers’ profesionalism which was 71.5%.

Abstract

An research was conducted to know the land suitability for paddy plant, food crop dry land, and annual plant in Malangga Sub Watershed, Tinigi Village, Galang Subdistrict, and the aim of the research also to minimize constraint and maximize potency for the increasing of productivity to develop agriculture sustainibility, and to evaluate the working of Malangga Sub Watershed, Tinigi Village, Galang Subdistrict. The research was conducted on April until June 2012. The research was an descritive research (non experiment), the data was collected on land suitability evaluation research of some comodity in Malangga Sub Watershed, Tinigi Village, Galang Subdistrict, Tolitoli Regency. The result of the research showed that the level of soil fertility in research area, as general, was low until medium. The research also showed that the land class was suitable for paddy plant of 403,84 ha, for food crop dry land was 94,38 ha, and for annual plant waas 548,4 ha. Economically evaluation showed that paddy plant was very suitable to be developed with R/C ratio was 1.8.

Abstract

One of the reason for poor students understanding of physics concepts is less availability of particular books supporting the learning activities and the lack of development of learning tools expecially the material vibrations, waves and sound. This research is a development study with the limited test that aims to develop the instructional materials in natural science physics of the topic vibrations waves and sound, including teaching materials, students worksheet, and lesson plan. The subject of this research was students at VIIIA class of SMP Negeri 6 Palu with 40 students. There were four steps of the development of this model: (l) defining, including student analysis, concept analysis, task analysis, and specification indicator of learning outcomes; (2) designing, containing media selection, the selection of format, and the early design of instructional materials; (3) developing, dealing with expert validation, simulation, and revision; and (4) distributing. The strength of instructional materials compiled systematically could improve the students’ concept understanding and make the teaching-learning process in the classroom easier. The effectiveness of the instructional materials obtained by t-test which was  tcounted (5.967) > ttable (1.664). Based on the result of data analysis and t test, also the test result of concept understanding, it can be concluded that the product of the instructional materials development of Natural Science Physics with the topic of vibration waves and sound by using 4-D development model at SMP Negeri 6 Palu, which was valid and effective as teaching material for students, student worksheet, and lesson plan have been produced.

Abstract

Wera Natural Tourism Site and its surroundings which have its beauty of waterfall and environment have not directly benefited the community’s economy. The purpose of this research was to investigate the social, economic and ecological aspects of the management of Wera Natural Tourism Site, to analyze the problem of managing the site, and to provide strategies for managing the site. This research was conducted in Balumpewa, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi in the middle of July to September 2013. The primary and secondary data were obtained through interviews with 30 respondents and 10 key informants; observation, and library research. The data were analyzed descriptively and SWOT analysis. The research indicates that in general the villagers in Balumpewa had positive motivation and perceptions on Wera Natural Tourism Site as supporting forest and natural tourism. Economically, the villagers only rely on the crops of both forest and agriculture. Few villagers have taken benefits from the natural tourism site also has ecological function in preventing erosion and flooding, in forming micro climate, and providing macro habitat and other micro agranims. The main strategy that needs to be taken is to promote and maximize the water environment to support the economy, the third party investment, and the community’s participation together with the forest police in preventing the forest. Alternatively, other strategies are to manage the boundary between forest area and farming, to get the village chief in providing job opportunities, to increase the structure and infrastructure, and to get the community’s in protecting and conserving not only the forest, but also the safety of the visitors.

Abstract

This is a research and development (R & D) with limited trials which aimed to develop chemistry learning tools with Directed Activities Related to Text (DARTs) model of non-experiment student worksheet-based on colloid system, which included teaching materials, student guide, teacher guide, lesson plans, student worksheet, achievement test. The subjects were the year XI sciences students of SMA Negeri 8 Palu whichwere 30 students in total. The development procedure used in this research was directed activities related to text (DARTs) instructional model based on “Thiagarajan” model or 4-D model which composed of  four stage: define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. Chemistry learning tools directed activities related to text (DARTs) model of non-experiment student worksheet-based have been developed, validated, and revised twice in order to obtain maximal results and feasible to use. Based on data analysis, it has been produced effective and feasible chemistry learning tools with directed activities related to text (DARTs) model of non-experiment student worksheet-based on colloid system instruction at the year XI sciences students of SMA Negeri 8 Palu dealing with the teahing materials, student guide, teacher guide, lesson plan, student worksheet, achievement test. The effectiveness was revealed from the indicator limited trials on chemistry learning tools directed activities related to text (DARTs) model which showed thant: (a) average student’ score on achievement test were from 72.18  up to 82.76 on the 100 ideal scale base. Next, 28 out of 30 students were completed or 93.3376% satisfied individual completeness which showed that classical completeness accomplished, (b) all observed students’ active categories satisfied the entire limited criteria of determined student active effeciveness which was categorized as effective, (c) in general, students positively responded and gave highly enthusiasm towards learning tools applied in the instruction, (d) teacher’ ability degree in managing chemistry instuction directed activities related to text (DARTs) model was categorized very good which was 3.53 in average, that means teacher’ performance was maintained.

Abstract

The research aimed at finding out the control of the basic commodity product of fried red onion of Palu variety as the main commodity used at the Home Industry “Usaha Bersama” and analyzing the use of basic commodity to make fried onion.  The sample, “Usaha Bersama” in Bulupountu Jaya Village as the place of this research, was stated by using purposive sampling technique.  This village was one of the centres for development of red onion variety of Palu and had home industry for producting fried onion in Sigi Regency.  Data were collected by using survey and direct observation.  The data were analyzed by adopting Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Linier Trend Line analyses.  The result shows that the optimal purchasing of the basic commodity was 2.192 kilograms per order; then, it was obtained the efficiency of supply restraint cost, 75.262,99 rupiahs (20%).  Meanwhile, the result of Linier Trend Line analysis shows that prediction of the basic commodity need from January to December 2013 was 1.423 kilograms for each order.  It is suggested that procurement of the basic commodity of Palu red onion variety applied at “Usaha Bersama” could be done by purchasing the commodity with 2.192 kilograms per order and with 8 times a year for the order frequency.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the influence of learning of blended cooperative e-learning in self efficacy and curiosity of the physics student in SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The sampel were 82 students, 44 were  for experiment class and 38  for control class. The data was taken by using questionnaire, written test of observation and documentation. The primary data was taken by using self-efficacy questionnaire was used to take the response of students’ confidence, while the curiosity questionnaire was used to take the responds of the students’ curiosity from the influence of  the learning of blended cooperative e-learning whereas the written test used to take the students’ learning outcome data. Observation sheet and documentation was used as the supporting data. The primary data processing was by done using t-test of average through statistical analysis and service solution. Sig score used was (sig) 0,05. From the research result, it was concluded that: 1) there was a significance influence of the learning application of blended cooperative e-learning toward students’ self-efficacy and curiosity, 2) there was a significance of learning application of blended cooperative e-learning toward students’ learning outcome

Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify the internal factors (the strength and weakness), the external one (opportunity and threat) and to state the alternative of development strategy for Narasa Home Industry.  It was carried out in Narasa home industry of North Palu. The sampling was done purposively. Environment analysis, SWOT, and QSPM is used to analyze the development strategy decision.  The analysis referred to the EFE matrix and IFE  producing the biggest power, namely the good quality of material, the biggest weakness is uninteresting product package; the biggest opportunity is the support of Palu Government while the biggest threat is the increasing of raw materials and additional material prices.  The result of  industrial position determination and the SWOT analysis were S-O strategy to increase the quality, defend the products price, promote and penetrate market with target of middle class of society.  QSPM analysis resulting the most interesting strategy for the development of this industry is increasing the quality and defending the price.

Abstract

Process Skill and critical thinking regarding to natural science in  six grade  student of SDN 1 Kalukubula are still at lower level due to the teaching and learning activities have been using regular group or convensional model. This research implementing the cooperative model on STAD type in two cycles. The result of process skill classically increased from 74,58% at the first cycles to  81,67% on the second cycles. Meanwhile the result of critical thinking skill classically increased from 70,38% on the first cycles to 76, 88% on the second cycles. Students attitude toward group works in the second cycles also increased with the subjection mean 97,92%. The teacher activities in teaching and learning process have been done very well that is 100%. Based on learning these results,  it could be concluded that the implementation  of cooperative model on STAD type can improve the process skill and the critical thinking in pertinent to  science of elementary school students.
