Abstract

Abstract- In agricultural  field the plants comes to an attack from the various pets bacterial and micro-organism diseases. This diseases  attacks on the plant leaves, steams, and fruit part. This present review paper discussed the image processing techniques which is used in performing the early detection of plant diseases through leaf feature inspection. the basic objective of this work is to develop image analysis and classification techniques for extraction and finally classified the diseases present on leaf. Image of leaf is captured  and the process is performed and to determine the status of each plant. Here proposed model  divide into four parts. The  image preprocessing including normalization and contrast adjustment; segment the region of interest  determine by using color transform YCbCr and bi-level thresholding for statistical usage to determine the defect and severity area of plant leaves. The texture feature extraction using statistical GLCM (Gray Level Co-occurrences Matrix)  and color feature by means values.[1] Finally classification achieved using random markov model.

Abstract

A new electromagnetic force-displacement sensor is presented. Its operating principle is based on the fundamental laws of electromagnetism (Faraday-Lenz law) and the mechanical properties of a spring. The active elements are two coils made by a wire of 60 µm in diameter. Using different wire diameters or different number of wire turns in the coil modify the intensity of the magnetic field and the sensor response. The average accuracy of the sensor is about ∆d=1µm, and as a force sensor is about ∆F = 1µN. This sensor could be successfully used for the manufacture of several measuring instruments.

Abstract

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is one of the famous heuristic methods. However, this method may suffer to trap at local minima especially for multimodal problem. This paper proposes a modified particle swarm optimization with dynamic acceleration coefficients (ACPSO). To efficiently control the local search and convergence to the global optimum solution, dynamic acceleration coefficients are introduced to PSO. To improve the solution quality and robustness of PSO algorithm, a new best mutation method is proposed to enhance the diversity of particle swarm and avoid premature convergence. The effectiveness of ACPSO algorithm is tested on different benchmarks. Simulation results found that the proposed ACPSO algorithm has good solution quality and more robust than other methods reported in previous work.

Abstract

In 3-phase systems, the reliability of 3-phase Inverter is not good. In such situations Paralleled Inverter Systems are used. Parallel Inverter operation has a major topic in uninterruptible power system (UPS) applications where the design is focused on the standalone operation, and output stage is typically an inductor-capacitor filter. Most of the standalone inverter systems use a LC filter and proportional-integral (PI) controller in their control loops. When connecting the paralleled inverters to utility grids, the capacitor becomes redundant and thus either a pure inductor or an LCL filter can be used as inverter output stage. Compared with the L filter, the LCL filter is more attractive because it cannot only provide higher harmonics attenuation with same inductance value, but also allow inverter to operate both in standalone and grid-tie modes, which makes it a universal inverter for distributed generation applications. Output of Inverter should always be checked. In this paper, a full order observer for Inverter System is designed and is used for estimation of State Variables of the Inverter System. Two modes are adopted: a) Grid-tie Mode b) Standalone Mode. MATLAB/Simulink is used to verify and validate the proposed idea.

Abstract

The integrated UMTS and WLAN ad hoc networks are getting more and more popular as they hold substantial advantages by next generation networks. We introduce a new secure, robust routing protocol specifically designed for next generation technologies and evaluated its performance. The design of the SNAuth_SPERIPv2 secure routing protocol takes advantage to the integrated network, maintaining Quality of Service (QoS) under Wormhole Attack (WHA). This paper compares performance of newly developed secure routing protocol with other security schemes for CBR video streaming service under WHA.

Abstract

Integration of Distributed generation (DG) results in a number of advantages ranging from reduction in losses to delayed generation and transmission capacities. In this paper the impact of DGs on reliability is considered and their effect on reliability in terms of number and location is evaluated. The integration of DG changes configuration of the radial system. This point is considered for evaluating the load point indices. The cost effectiveness of number of DGs is evaluated for the determining the returns on the DG investment cost. The above analysis is carried out on a RBTS Bus 2 system. The reliability indices are calculated using FMEA technique.

Abstract

Sustainable energy systems are necessary for the economic growth and a healthy environment. India is currently suffering from an economic slump and acute fuel shortage. To overcome these issues the use of renewable energy resources needs to be enhanced manifold. The main purpose of this paper is to present a tracking system which will cause better alignment of solar panel with sunlight and to harvest solar power. The proposed system changes its direction in two axis to trace the coordinate of sunlight by detecting change in light intensity through light dependent resistors. Hardware testing of the proposed system is done for checking the system ability to track and follow the sunlight in an efficient way. Dual axis solar tracking system superiority over stationary solar panel is also presented.

Abstract

In recent years, there is an increased interest in fault classification algorithms. The reason, behind this interest is the escalating power demand and multiple interconnections of utilities in grid. This paper presents an application of wavelet transforms to detect the faults and further to perform classification by supervised learning paradigm. Different architectures of ANN are tested with the statistical attributes of a wavelet transform of a voltage signal as input features and binary digits as outputs. The proposed supervised learning module is tested on a transmission network. It is observed the Layer Recurrent Neural Network (LRNN) architecture performs satisfactorily when it is compared with the simulation results. The transmission network is simulated on Matlab. The performance indices Mean Square Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Sum Square Error (SSE) are used to determine the efficacy of the neural network.

Abstract

The great majority of overhead distribution systems in urban and rural areas of countries such as Australia, Iran and etc., are in interfering with vegetation. This phenomena leads to high impedance faults (HIFs) which not produce enough fault current to be detectable and consequently causes electrical energy losses. In this paper, according to experimental data obtained from measurements, the effective factors in power losses caused by trees are studied and a new numerical model of power loss is presented so as to reflect the effects of environmental conditions and biological classification. The base of this method is according to Samuelson theory. In proposed algorithm, the impacts of species, short-term environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) and long-term environmental conditions (Seasonal variations in physiology) on the power loss estimation are fully considered. Experimental investigations on a real low voltage (380 V) and medium voltage (20 kV) distribution network verify the algorithm’s operation.

Abstract

A Cross Entropy (CE) optimization technique is suggested in this study in order to extract the optimal parameters of solar cell model. The solar cell model namely Double diode model, is used in this paper in the purpose to verify the proposed method. The seven unknown parameters of double diode model are: the photo-generated current, the diffusion current, saturation current, the series resistance, the shunt resistance, the diffusion ideality factor and recombination diode ideality factor. These parameters were used to determine the corresponding maximum power point (MPP) from the illuminated current–voltage (I–V) characteristic. The metaheuristic algorithms have created a center of attention due to the non-linearity of the solar cell models and the incapability of traditional optimization methods to precisely extract the parameters. Different cases and studies have been done to identify the unknown parameters of the solar cell double model. The efficiency of CE algorithm is investigated by comparing this method with various and different other techniques. This comparison is done using statistical indicators and analysis such as: mean absolute bias error, root mean square error and coefficient of determination. The results show that CE is a very efficient technique to identify the electrical parameters of the PV solar cells and modules.
