Abstract

This article elaborates on Fakhruddin ar-Razi thougts about psychiatric and mental health. The research used a qualitative method. The findings showed that soul according to Fakhruddin ar-Razi, divided into three souls that are rational, emotional souls and animal. Furthermore, ar-Razi thoughts about Islamic mental health are love and romance, fairness, envy, anger, falsehood, miser and greed. All of these require Islamic therapy for healing.

Abstract

Originally the Western sciences and civilization rooted in Oriental traditions. Nevertheless, Western renaissance, the Scientific Revolution has indicated a contrary paradigm in the sciences of nature. A new and alien paradigm which is totally different in its perspective and Weltanschauung from the sciences of the great Oriental traditions. The West arose with the materialistic paradigm resulted in the secularization of the cosmos. It was regarded as the beginning of the Enlightenment dissolved Dark Age scientific stagnation. Modern people have been hollowed, isolated from others by individualism then self-separated from God by egocentrism. Western objectivity negated transcendental aspects; thus, non-observable means no exist. Metaphysics, Cosmology, Epistemology, Psychology, and Ethics are not elaborated anymore to convince the Real. Such a paradigm would put worldly benefits before humanity for the sake of growth and progress. These profane sciences result in radical separation of philosophy and theology, knowledge and faith, religion and science, as well as theology and all aspects of human life. Desecration of contemporary sciences is the product of modern worldview which negated transcendent values ​​in scientific activity. This desecration became the turning point of traditionalist thinkers’ criticism with a theistic worldview to restore spiritual values ​​in sciences. Thus, worldview could produce tawhid based scientific epistemology creates unity between religion and science, knowledge and values ​​as well as the material and metaphysical then makes the humanity before the science

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan library research dengan mengumpulkan data-data baik primer maupun sekunder. Penelitian ini akan mengungkap gagasan pemikiran Islam kontemporer tentang Islam Progresif yang di gagas oleh Omid Safi dan kontribusinya terhadap khazanah pemikiran Islam Kontemporer. Gagasan yang diusung oleh Islam Progresif, salah satu trend pemikiran Islam, untuk mewujudkan keadilan sosial, keadilan gender, dan pluralisme menjadi gagasan yang harus menggugah kemanusiaan kita sebagai bagian dari umat manusia di seluruh dunia yang berasal dari Nabi Adam As. Tanpa membedakan latar belakang, suku, agama, jenis kelamin dan ras, muslim progresif harus melawan semua ketidakadilan yang ada disekitar kita. Tidak hanya melakukan kritik terhadap ketidakadilan yang dilakukan umat Islam sendiri tapi juga berani mengkritik ketidakadilan yang dilakukan Barat. Abstract

This article aims to reveal the implementation of Sufism education in Islamic education. The method used is qualitative literature study. The results of the study show that tasauf has great potential because it can offer liberation of spiritual crises, invites people to know themselves, to get to know their God better to obtain his guidance. This is a guideline in human life that is very effective, so it is not tossed around by the storms of life. With the tasauf approach in this era, more emphasis on the social moral reconstruction of the community so that the emphasis is more intense on strengthening faith in accordance with the principles of Islamic creed, and the evaluation of worldly life is as important as ukhrawi life in efforts to anticipate the era of globalization.

Abstract

The article investigates the phenomenon of intolerance and religious radicalism in Indonesia. Religious radicalism in several regions has shown a critical condition and tends to present takfirism to the other group's religious beliefs. This encourages the Youth Movement of Nahdlatul Ulama (Ansor-Banser) to play an important role in mainstreaming moderate Islam and religious tolerance. Among the research questions asked are how the role of Ansor-Banser in countering religious radicalism?; and how the concept and strategy of Ansor-Banser in mainstreaming moderate Islam in Indonesia.?By using sosiological theory and historical approach, the findings of this research show that Ansor-Banser has three important roles in countering religious radicalism. Firstly, the role in maintaining security and public order with the government apparatus in particular at religious ceremony both organized by muslim community and non muslim. Secondly, the role in reviewing and monitoring the activities of individuals or groups of radical religious dissemination. Thirdly, the role in educating moderate religious values ​​on the younger generation through training activities. Therefore, this research also aims to be a reference in formulating strategic steps for stakeholders especially muslim youth organization to maintain moderate religious understanding and forming religious behavior by relying on Islamic values ​​of tasamuh, tawasuth and tawazun.
