Abstract

Segmentation of moving objects is one of the challenging research areas for video surveillance application. The success of object changing position for segmentation is when the moving object completely separate the foreground from its background of frame. It depends on many factors, including the use of suitable clustering method to differentiate the pixels of the foreground and background. This paper propose to use k-means as clustering method for moving object segmentation. The method is evaluated on several distance measures. Several steps are performed to conduct the moving object segmentation, such as frame subtraction, median filtering, and noise removal. These steps are proposed to improve the achievement of moving object segmentation. The performance are evaluated by using Mean of Square Error and Peak Signal to Noise Error. The value of both measurement are 135.02 and 25.52. The experimental result shows that the moving object segmentation performs the best result on Minkowski distance.

Abstract

E-complaint is one of the technologies which is used to collect feedback from customers in the form of criticism and suggestions using electronic systems. For some companies or agencies, ecomplaint is used to provide better services to its customers. This study is aimed to perform sentiment analysis of an e-complaint service, with the case of Brawijaya University. There are three main stages for the proposed system, i.e. Text Preprocessing, Text Weighting, and PNN forthe classification. Tokenization, filtering, and stemming are done in the text preprocessing. Resulted text from the preprocessing stage is weighting using Term Inverse Document Frequent (TFIDF). To classify the negative or positive complaints, PNN are used in the last stage. For the experiments, 70 data are used as the training data, and 20 data are used as the testing data. The experimental results based on the combination of the number of training and testing dataset, showed that the accuracy achieved up to 90%.

Abstract

Nowadays, email has become the most widely communication way in daily life. Email is a very important method of communicating across the internet. During transmission and downloads, it uses protocols which are not secure. Spammers and scammers misuse these protocols to gain access to critical data stored in the email. This triggered concerns because sometimes email is used to exchange confidential messages. To improve security and efficiency of email system, we made an email security system for Android mobile phone using Hill Cipher algorithm. Hill Cipher is a classic cryptography algorithm that uses matrix inverse and matrix multiplication operations to hide the message. The initial stage of the encryption process is forming ciphertext by multiplying the key matrix with plaintext matrix. The contents of encrypted messages only can be read by legitimate recipient who has the key. Converting the ciphertext into plaintext is done by multiplying the ciphertext matrix with the inverse key matrix. The email content can be a plain message or a message with an attached file.

Abstract

Gamelan bali is one aspect of the art highly favored by both domestik and foreign tourists. One type of popular typical Balinese gamelan is Rindik. Rindik is one of Balinese traditional musical instrument made of bamboo. Now days, the number of foreign culture and today’s lifestyle give some impacts on the declining interest of Balinese to interact with this type of conventional gamelan. The younger generation is now more inclined to like devices which are played through electronics/software component. To increase public interest towards traditional gamelan bali especially rindik we need a breakthrough to digitize gamelan rindik and presenting it in the form of rindik software application. Today's advanced technology has made a way to digitize a wide range of instruments including rindik into computerized form. For example we can use frequency modulation as a voice synthesis technique. This method was developed by researchers in the field of sound synthesis. In this research, we have done the sound synthesis process of rindik instrument into digital form using frequency modulation. The best results were obtained through the synthesis comparison of carrier signal frequency and modulator is 1:7. Outcomes of this research is a digitizing result which is presented in the form of a gamelan rindik package on desktop based software application.

Abstract

In a communication using texts input, viseme (visual phonemes) is derived from a group of phonemes having similar visual appearances. Hidden Markov model (HMM) has been a popular mathematical approach for sequence classification such as speech recognition. For speech emotion recognition, a HMM is trained for each emotion and an unknown sample is classified according to the model which illustrate the derived feature sequence best. Viterbi algorithm, HMM is used for guessing the most possible state sequence of observable states. In this work, first stage, we defined system of an Indonesian viseme set and the associated mouth shapes, namely system of text input segmentation. The second stage, we defined a choice of one of affection type as input in the system. The last stage, we experimentally using Trigram HMMs for generating the viseme sequence to be used for synchronized mouth shape and lip movements. The whole system is interconnected in a sequence. The final system produced a viseme sequence for natural speech of Indonesian sentences with affection. We show through various experiments that the proposed, the results in about 82,19% relative improvement in classification accuracy.
