Abstract

This research was conducted for analyzing the effect of mediating variable that is individual task proactivity as one of the proactivities of behavior towards the relationship between self-efficacy and the employees’ performance in the logistics companies of shipping the goods. It uses convenience sampling, which is a non-probability sampling method for getting the sample of 52 employees. They were divided into two divisions, namely infrastructure and quality assurance. The questionnaire consists of two parts, in which some were assessed by themselves and others that were assessed by the supervisor. They were analyzed using path analysis using analytical tools developed by Hayes, Preacher-Hayes with the simple mediation models. It was found that employees have self-efficacy, individual task proactivity, and relatively high performance, in which individual task proactivity can be a mediating variable on the effect self-efficacy on performance.

Abstract

This study investigates market reaction to a political event, which is the presidential election of Republic of Indonesia in 2014 by studying 387 publicly traded firms in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. It employs event study method to measure the information content of this event. By going deeper, this study looked at the effect difference between government controlled firms (partially privatized firms) and private firms. The results show that there was a significant abnormal return around the event date. The negative abnormal return one day before the election date, which was followed by rebounding one day after the event, indicate that investors consider that the election had been done well particularly with respect to the political stability and security. Moreover, this paper reveals that the effect of presidential election is more pronounced for government-controlled firms than private firms. Government controlled firms may be more susceptible to political event.

Abstract

Previous studies only focused on antecedent factors of transfer of training and only a few of them focused on the consequence factors. The main objectives of this research were to examine the antecedents and consequence of transfer of training. The antecedent factors consist of individual characteristics, training design, and organizational environment. The consequence factor is individual performance. Since the previous studies used transfer of training as unidimensional construct, this research used multidimensional construct consist of knowledge sharing, training retention and training generalization. Survey with questionnaire is used as design research method. The respondents are employee who worked in state-owned hospitals (N=202). Multiple regressions was used to examine the hypothesis. The result showed that individual performance was determined by training transfer consists of three factors such as knowledge sharing, training retention, and training generalization. Training of transfer itself was determined by some factors such as individual characteristics (i.e. self-efficacy and learning orientation), training design (trainer and training material), and organizational environment (organizational support, supervisor support and peer support). Specific for organizational support, it’s only had significant effect on training retention but not on knowledge sharing and training generalization. Since transfer of training has important effect on individual performance, organization must consider the three antecedent factors.
