Abstract

Beside of gaining knowledge, the aim of learning in school is to make students be able to communicate (speech act) using the right Indonesian language in written and spoken, especially in classroom. However, teaching and learning process should use the mother tongue to make students can comprehend the material. Teacher should integrate communication with the context. First language facilitates students to speak and gain learning competences. That is why the term that mother tongue chaosing the use of Indonesian language can not be doctrinized.Keywords: Mother Tongue; Speech Act; Context.

Abstract

The Tale of Propert Shave (TPS) is a work of prose figured legends. The tale comes from Persian Arabic that is re-constructed by taler glorifying the majestic of Prophet Mohammed as the last prophet of age. This research used several methods suitable with the stages of research, those are; (1) stage of collecting data; (2) stage of analyzing data; (3) stage of judgement and elimination data; (4) stage of comparison; (5) stage of editing; and (6) stage of translating.Keywords: Script, Editing, Classification

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe speech ability through extemporan speech method as it is. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through oral test and asking the students to do a speech which the title and the text of the speech has been prepared. The technique used in this research was stratified proporsional random sampling. The researcher used this technique because the population of the research was heterogeneous. The data collecting technique was supportive literature, observation, and interview. The result of the research shown speech ability through extemporan speech method as follows: 1) pronunciation aspect was very good; 2) intonation aspect was good; 3) vocabulary aspect was good; 4) students view aspect was not good; 5) expression aspect was good; 6) loudness aspect was average; 7) fluency aspect was very good; 8) comprehension aspect was not good. According to the result of the research, it can be concluded that speech ability through extemporan speech method was good because only a few errors found in each aspect.Keywords: Speech Ability, Extemporant Method

Abstract

This study described syntactic structure on fairy-tale collection of Gadis Korek Api by H.C. Andersen. The study which seen from syntactic structure is sentence pattern based on function category, category, and syntactic role. This study aimed to describe syntactic structure on fairy-tale collection of Gadis Korek Api by H.C. Andersen and it’s distribution towardh Indonesian language. This research used qualitative method and note method was employed for collecting the data. In analysing the data, the researcher used Agih method by applying Immediate Constituent Analysis technique (ICA) as a basic technique. A book entitled Gadis Korek Api and others fairy-tale are the work of danish author, H.C. Andersen that used Indonesian standard. The analysis showed syntactic structure of fairy-tale language which form of sentence pattern based on the user, the pattern of imperative sentence, sentence pattern contains conjunction, and sentence pattern of complex sentences. Abstract

Reading is one of the important aspects in the process of communicating. Students have the potential to read. One of them read a work of literature, that saga. The success saga of learning to read will depend on the role of teachers, namely the use of learning methods and techniques are appropriate. This study used quasi-experimental methods (quasi experimental research). This research method starts with trial (trial), so that the data obtained is taken based on the test results. Based on the analysis conducted, obtained the degrees of freedom of 32 with 95% confidence level, it>, ie 10.2> 2.04. This means that there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest in class X MA Bahrul Ulum in learning discover the intrinsic elements of the saga through a model student teams achievement divisions. This shows, that the model student teams achievement divisions used in learning proper finding intrinsic elements saga.Keywords: Learning, Intrinsic Elements, Saga, Model STAD
