Abstract

Unemployment in Indonesia is a difficult problem to eliminate from human life, but the problem of unemployment is not left alone. The high unemployment rate is caused by several factors including the size of the labor force that is not balanced with employment opportunities and the level of education and skills possessed by the people of Indonesia is very low. Pekanbaru City Labor Office implements a program of expanding employment opportunities that is burdened by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. The program of expanding employment opportunities implemented by the Pekanbaru City Labor Office is located in Rumbai Subdistrict, because Rumbai Subdistrict is still very minimal and requires the construction of infrastructure or infrastructure facilities and many have unemployed communities that must be empowered. This study provides an overview of community empowerment in reducing the unemployment rate in Pekanbaru city while finding inhibitory factors. Based on the results and discussions of the research can be concluded that the program of expanding employment opportunities is implemented through public services with a budget of the State Budget where the types of activities include labor-intensive infrastructure that aims to seek the expansion of opportunities. This type of research is qualitative research with phenomenological approach. Data collection obtained both primary and secondary data collected through observation interviews and documentation, then analyzed so that it can be drawn conclusions from existing research problems. The result of the study is that the program of expanding employment opportunities is less effective because some indicators of success are not achieved. Inhibitory factors include natural conditions and climate or weather at the time of the implementation of the program so that the program is not carried out properly or not in accordance with the planned time. Keyword : Effectiveness, Program Implementation, Expansion of Employment                    Opportunities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of the people in RW 019 Exodus Tuah Karya to the establishment of the Chromatic Family Karaoke entertainment venue. The response is seen from three aspects, namely Cognitive Response, Affective Response and Conative Response, while to see the factors that influence the formation of the response can be seen from three factors, namely internal factors, living environment, culture. This research was conducted on people living in RW 019, Tuah Karya sub-district. To get the right results, the author uses descriptive quantitative methods which are presented in tabular form and explained in detail with a total sample of 79 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the public's response to the establishment of chromatic family karaoke is high or negative. Both from cognitive, affective and conative responses. That's because there are factors that influence the formation of responses, from factors that influence the formation of responses, internal factors, living environment, culture, in this study are classified as high, meaning that the presence of these factors can affect the formation of a person's response to something. For this reason, capital owners need to pay more attention to the location and place where the place of business will be established, especially karaoke entertainment venues, because not everyone thinks that the place is said to be good as a place of entertainment. Keywords: Response, RW019 Community, Chromatic Family Karaoke

Abstract

The meaning of beauty for sociology students, faculty of social science and political science, University of Riau. This research was conducted in the department of sociology, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Riau University. The purpose of this research is to find out about the meaning for sociology students either innerbeuaty or outerbeauty and the elements that influence it. In determining the informants, a purposive sampling technique was used, namely active students majoring in sociology class 2017 and having a GPA above 3.50. The number of informants in this study amounted to 5 people. The theory used is Herbert Mead's theory of symbolic interactionism. The results obtained were that all informants interpreted beauty differently and most of them interpreted beauty based on physicality. In interpreting beauty, each informant has their own views or thoughts, but all informants consider that facial hygiene is one of the most important when it comes to physical beauty, while for inner beauty women should have a good heart and character. Not all informants considered that she was beautiful because of the influence of other people's assessments of her and the community environment in which they had social interactions. Keywords: Beauty, Student

Abstract

This study intends to explain the portrait of the social and economic life of female parking attendants in terms of the social relationships that exist among parking attendants at the Puan Maimun Market, Karimun Regency and the family economic life of each female parking attendant. Researchers also discussed gender. In general, the job of parking attendants is only carried out by men. However, since the times, the job of parking attendants has been carried out by women. Women who work as parking attendants are usually underestimated by society. However, while working as a parking attendant at Puan Maimun Market, there is no difference in working between men and women. However, women who work outside the home usually have problems related to carrying out family functions. The function of the family in question is that the affective function is carried out even though it does not have much free time with the family, the function of education and socialization here is a little carried out and the last, the recreational function is not carried out. This research was conducted using a survey technique because the number of subjects was not too many, carried out continuously with a certain time interval. Based on these criteria, 4 informants were taken as research subjects for portraits of the socio-economic life of female parking attendants at Puan Maimun Market, Karimun Regency. Those who work as parking attendants have certain reasons, one of which is wanting to help their husbands for the survival of their families and also working as parking attendants do not need to have special skills. Abstract

Supervision can be interpreted as a process for implementing what work is planned, assessing it and if necessary correcting it with the intention that the implementation of the work is in accordance with the original plan. The Riau Provincial Cultural Office carries out guidance and supervision of the main Nila Museum. Supervision is carried out through an assessment of Museum institutions and Museum management. But supervision has not been carried out optimally by the Culture Service, because the main Nila Museum has lost some rare collections. The loss of several collections of items in the Museum is the formulation of the problem in this stud.             The purpose of the this research is to find out the supervision of the Riau Provincial Cultural Office on the main Sang Nila Museum and to find out the inhibiting factors for the Culture Service in supervising the main Sang Nila Museum in Pekanbaru City. This research approach uses a qualitative approach, the type of research used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this study are interwiews and documentation, of data analysis techniques used are descriptive qualitative analysis.             The result of this research is that supervision is carried out through an assessment of the institution and management of the Museum. This shows that the supervision carried out the Museum institution is in accordance with the applicable rules. By carrying out supervision of government agencies will not be separated from obstacles or obstacles. In supervising th Riau Provincial Cultural Office, ther are also obstacles in supervising the main Nila Museum. One of the obstacles faced by the Riau Provincial Cultural Office is human resources. In organizing this the department experienced a shortage of staff, then the obstacle faced by the department of Cultural in supervising the Museum was the budget. Keywords: Supervision, Culture Service, Museum

Abstract

The role of the tourism and culture department in the effort to preserve the randai tradition in Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2017 is still not optimal. This is known from the phenomenon of the lack of facilities and infrastructure for the randai tradition, the lack of communication and publication of the randai tradition, and the lack of attention of the younger generation to the randai tradition. This study aims to determine: (1) the role of the Department of Tourism and Culture in the effort to preserve the Randai tradition in Kuantan Singingi Regency; (2) the factors that hinder the preservation of the randai tradition in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collection technique used is the interview technique. Where the interview data were obtained from five informants. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the role of the Department of Tourism and Culture in the effort to preserve the Randai tradition in Kuantan Singingi Regency can be said to have been carried out, because there have been coaching activities in the randai group, and equipment assistance provided to some randai groups. Although there are still some randai groups who have not received proper guidance and assistance. Through the 12 roles of the Department of Tourism and Culture in preserving culture, only two roles have not been implemented properly, namely the role in preparing materials for formulating policies and strategies for cultural preservation, and preparing technical guidelines for cultural preservation. Keywords : Service Role, Cultural Preservation, Randai Tradition

Abstract

This research aims as a study of constructivist towards Alexander Wendt’s theory about Three Cultures of Anarchy by taking a case study of the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia. This study tries to apply Alexander Wendt’s theory of Three Cultures of Anarchy in looking at the structure and role or cultures of anarchy in relations between Indonesia and Malaysia through various phenomena and issues. Through this study, the authors found that the dynamics of relations between Indonesia and Malaysia experienced ups and downs where at-first the two countries had a collective identity as shared knowledge which made it easier for the two countries to interact and resolve problems between them. However, the development of representations between them in domestic, regional, and international issues makes this identity irrelevant.This study uses qualitative methods and descriptive analysis with data collection techniques through literature studies from several books, journals, articles, and websites. This study uses a constructivist perspective and the theory and concept of culture developed by Alexander Wendt in understanding international politics through identification of the development of representation, logic, and internalization of culture in a relationship between countries.The results of this study indicate that the representation of each country on the relationship between them is asymmetrical. Indonesia still considers brotherly relations to Malaysia while Malaysia, on the other hand, has little influence on the relationship. They are faced with political, economic, social and cultural development dynamically that have made both Indonesia and Malaysia begin to make preparations facing global competition. This affects the relationship between them in the form of rivalry which is the culture of Lockean Anarchy.Keywords: Three Cultures of Anarchy, Alexander Wendt, Indonesia, Malaysia

Abstract

Response in the world of tourism is the opinion or point of view of visitors and tourists in understanding a tourist destination. This research was conducted at the Comforta Hotel Dumai located at jl. jend. Sudirman no. 58, Dumai- Riau- Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors and efforts to improve occupancy at the Comforta Dumai hotel. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to process data obtained in the field through interviews, observation and documentation. all information collected and studied so that it becomes a complete unit (Sugiono. 2000). Meanwhile, for the sample in the study there were seven keys information persons. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the occupancy increasing factors at the Hotel Comforta Dumai are the location factor and the Promotion Factor and efforts to increase the occupancy of the Hotel Comforta Dumai are making advertisements, promoting hotel programs and hotel facilities. Keywords: Factors, Occupancy, Sales marketin.,

Abstract

Cultural diversity greatly influences the way a person interacts. When interacting with people who have different cultures, a person will bring character to their culture. Among the many immigrant tribes in the area, it is the relationship between the Akit and the Malays that is most striking compared to other immigrant tribes. This happens because the people of the Akit Tribe and the Malay Tribe live next door, which makes the two tribes inevitably interact with each other. Phenomena and realities that occur in the Akit and Malay tribes today are still debating and conflicting which results in their disharmony relationship. However, communication between the immigrant ethnic community and the Akit Tribe cannot be avoided because in daily life because the two tribes need each other. This research uses Face Negotiation Theory.The purpose of this study was to determine the form of facework and conflict management of the Akit Tribe and the Malay community in Kepau Baru Village, Meranti Islands Regency.This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection technique is done by interview, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis according to Huberman and Miles. And the data validity checking techniques used in this study were participation extension and triangulation.The results showed that in communicating, the Akit tribe and the Malay community displayed their positive and negative faces. The Malay community displays their positive faces by being polite. Meanwhile, the Akit people show their positive faces by showing that they are people who behave as they are. A negative face is shown by the Akit tribe and the Malay community to maintain their culture. When the two communities communicate, if they find things that are not in accordance with their culture, they will avoid and act indifferent. Prejudice and stereotypes are the causes of conflict between the Akit tribe and the Malay community in Kepau Baru Village. In resolving conflict, the leader has a very important role, namely by way of conflict prevention, conflict resolution, conflict management, conflict resolution and conflict transformation.

Abstract

This research is a diplomatic and strategic political study which describes Saudi Arabia's interests in helping the conflict in Yemen. This study is describing about the Saudi Arabia’s government role in middle east. Saudi Arabia’s government have to make the conflict in Yemen stable and not disturbing the security around the Middle East.This is qualitative research which used descriptive methods, and collecting datas from some resources like books ,journals, official publications, and any relevant websites. This paper uses a Neorealist perspective and the Alliance Theory from Stephen Walt. The object of this research is Saudi Arabia which is the main actor in International Relations.          The results of this study indicate that Saudi Arabia took several actions to assist the Yemeni government in dealing with conflicts. Saudi Arabia as the Chairperson of the Union of Middle Eastern countries formed a coalition to fight the insurgency in Yemen. Saudi Arabia also provides direct military assistance to the Yemeni government by sending weapons and other military supports. Saudi Arabia is also forming a coalition with the United States to help them fight rebels in Yemen backed by Iran. Keywords: Aliance, Weapons, Conflict, Military
