Abstract

Every department store sells a variety of products for both men and women of all ages including those with special needs such as pregnant women. In Surabaya there is no department store that provides all the needs for pregnant and lactating mothers. To facilitate pregnant and lactating mother, a department store is made to provide various facilities such as gym, spa, café and lounge, as well as products for pregnant and lactating mothers. All these facilities are adjusted to the needs of pregnant and lactating mothers based on literature and research. Brainstorming was also done out with the aim of maximize design results from all aspects that can affect pregnant and lactating mothers. With the existence of the department store, it can make it easier for pregnant and lactating mothers to fulfil all their needs efficiently on both for service and product needs. With this design project, pregnant and lactating mothers in Surabaya no longer have to bother to move around stores, so it becomes more efficient and will not exhaust them.

Abstract

Elderly care is one solution to entrust parents, especially elderly people. However, the name of the nursing home itself is often viewed negatively by the community. Placing elderly people in nursing homes is deemed inappropriate because a child is considered unable to take care of his parents, even though they do it without reason. Along with the development of the times, a child's habit of caring for his parents is increasingly rare, due to a lot of busyness. In addition, it is not uncommon for the elderly to be entrusted to the place at their own discretion. For the elderly, they can be paid more attention to in nursing homes and can socialize with people of their age.This interior design aims to eradicate the stigma of the community towards the Elderly Care itself, which is able to provide optimal service to the elderly including physical, mental, and social development, as well as fulfilling all the needs of the elderly, especially those who get less attention from their own families. This elderly care is designed to provide comfort for the elderly by applying universal designs to their interiors, and also ergonomic furniture. Then it can be useful for many people, especially for the elderly in carrying out their daily activities and their life.

Abstract

Child’s education consisted of two aspects, formal which is in school and informal in education center. Edutainment center is a place where children can study and play simultaneously. The importance of sensory and motoric stimulation to children in younger ages will influence their growth in personal and social skill, whether in school and outside’s school, even affecting their further development in their upcoming life. Sensory education center is designed for children with age range from 3 to 12 years old, which is classified as Golden Age. This design will be divided into 3 stages, starting from understanding, designing, and detailing. Every stage will be applied with Bryan Lawson’s Method, where it will be divided into analysis, evaluation, and synthesis phase to produce design final and another related product.

Abstract

The large number of investors who want inn in hotel forms is not in line with the Batu city’s branding: Shining Batu which promotes education and agriculture programs in addition to its tourism. Although there are still many educational and agricultural tourism destinations that are being developed, Batu City government has adopted a policy to ban the construction of hotels, especially three-star hotels. This design will provide alternative hotel facilities by combining three images of Batu City including tourism, education, and agriculture in one building, but still prioritize the impact on the environment. The design method consists of seven stages, namely understand, observe, point of view, ideate, prototype, test, and implementation. The result of the design is an agrotourism hotel building with an aquaponic application system with the concept of Revan with facilities such as lobby, restaurant, guest bedroom, and aquaponic garden.

Abstract

In Bone district, infrastructure in entertainment sectors are being built and developed. One of the entertainment sectors development currently underway is Planet Cinema. Planet Cinema is a cinema built with modern architectural forms and environmentally friendly building concepts. The Environmentally Friendly Concept in Planet Cinema provides a new atmosphere for the community. The cinema building is expected to be an example of an eco-friendly building icon in Bone and surrounding districts.            To support the design of Planet Cinema buildings, the interior is designed according to the architectural design. Planet Cinema interior design is made effective and efficient according to the flow of user activity. In addition, to support the concept of environmentally friendly buildings, interior design is also carried out with the approval of Eco-Interior. Aspects of Eco-Interior will be used as conceptual ideas in the principles of applied analysis in the design process of Planet Cinema.                The design method used is Design Thinking with stages consist of, understand, observe, point of view, ideate , prototype , test , storytelling, pilot, and business models. Planet Cinema's interior design is expected to be used as a means of recreation, educative, and appreciative for the public while enjoying the modern cinema facilities with a different design concept from other buildings that have ever been around. The ongoing design of Planet Cinema's interior is also expected to support Bone district to start a modern infrastructure while supporting environmentally friendly buildings.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with multiple earthquake occure in a day, make collapsed buildings and Fatalities.  As a reaction to this issue, the author will produce interior products which are expected to reduce the fatalities during earthquakes. After following the design method, the final design must be produced in full scale to test its quality as a facilities of earthquake protector. Principal of space frame is used in product because it has good rigid properties.

Abstract

Family restaurants in Indonesia are serving Chinese food in general. Chinese restaurant is a favorite restaurant for Indonesian people. Because the portion of the food can be shared with one family. This Crystal Jade Palace restaurant is a family restaurant that serves Chinese food.There is still less family restaurant in Kediri that serves Chinese food. The existing Chinese food restaurant still doesn’t have attractive interior. Many people nowadays choose to eat in restaurants that have attractive interiors, which can be used as a place to take pictures.The Crystal Jade Palace restaurant was designed with an oriental comfort concept. Oriental means Chinese, while comfort means comfort like family. This design provides warmth, and comfort like family for its employees or restaurant visitors.

Abstract

In this modern era, children have started to feel bored studying in a formal situation. Besides, life now has entered a digital era and technology has advanced majorly. These technology advances can be applied on various kinds of children’s games and can ata the same time give knowledge which is use full for childre’s development. ‘LOTS’ Edutainment Center, with its seaworld concept, is designed to be an alternative playground and study space outside formal institution for children aged 3-12 years old in Surabaya. Through the technologically-supported sensory approach, this can also be a place for children to do their activities and a place to later improve children’s development. The design methodology used is design thinking with stages, namely, (1) Understand, (2) Observe, (3) Point of View, (4) Ideate, (5) Prototype, (6) Test, (7) Storytelling, (8) business Model. The supporting facilities of this edutainment center include an educative playground area which is divided into 8 parts and gelato cafe.

Abstract

Online shop business is currently booming and very popular among many people. Many of them that have just started or even opened businesses for a long time often attend bazaars / exhibitions to increase their sales or to introduce their products. Few of the tenants who join the event bring their own additional furniture to enhance the visual of the booth as well as an additional display for the products. But usually thisfurniture does not match the size of the booth because each exhibition event has a different booth size. Therefore, a supporting facility that can be used repeatedly with an attractive and efficient design is needed. By the concept of adjustable and multifunctional design this product is made. The design aims to create products that can be adjusted in size and can also accommodate product display systems and to be easily used by tenants in the events. With this design it is expected to be a solution for participants or business people in participating in various exhibition activities.

Abstract

The busy activities of working parents makes it difficult for them to take care of their children. With the presence of educative daycare parents are expected to be able to entrust their children without worry when they are working. The methods used in the design process are understanding, observe, point of view, ideate, prototype, test, storytelling, and business model.This design is divided into 4 areas, namely, entertainment area, study area, rest area, and service area. The concept used in this design are fun and satisfying in space. The entertainment area is the center of children's activities so a spacious entertainment area is provided. The material used are mostly wood, while the colors used are pastel colors.
