Abstract

Main problem faced by Voice over IP service is the level of delay and packet loss yielded.Queue delay that happened when packet enter router interface have a big effect in real-timecommunications like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). First In First Out (FIFO) QueueSystem does not own arrangement to traffic passing through it, all packets assumed equal. IfVOIP packets queue up together with data packet at this system hence the delay yielded willbe very big. A correct queue method needed to improve network delay characteristic andimprove Quality of Service (QOS) of VoIP. One QOS management method on VoIP which canbe used is CBQ (Class Based Queuing) queue method. CBQ represent scheduling mechanismproviding link-sharing among classes using same physical link. This is the method enabledivision of bandwidth allocation from router output port as according to traffic type andpriority. In the event of congestion, traffic with high priority will accept minimum bandwidthallocations as which have previous reservation. At the simulated scenario and networktopology, CBQ queue method able to meet the requirement of maximum delay according toITU recommendation G.114. Based on calculation conversion R factor value to MOS by usingE-Model, CBQ can assign MOS value more than 4 (four), meaning its value is good. So thatVoIP service is competent to be implemented.Keyword: Bandwidth, CBQ, FIFO, link-sharing, MOS

Abstract

The research studied about designing the integration between Wireless Fidelity(WiFi) and GSM indoor network, followed by the observation of its signal quality andrelated environmental factors. To achieve the research goal, it is mandatory to calculate theEffective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) and the Signal Strength (SS) for GSM network orReceived Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) for Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) network. Taking intoconsideration about the GSM and WiFi hardwares specifications, RBS power, Access Pointsand any related enviromental factors; those parameter can be definitely calculated. Theresearch results showed that for GSM indoor network the EIRP 11.9141 dBm and the SignalStrength -70.2759 dBm; while for WiFi network the EIRP 18.7524 dBm and the RSSI -37.3376 dBm with to System Operating Margin is 30.6624 dB. Furthermore it can be statedthat for obtainning the improved output signal strength as implementation of integratingboth network system, it advisable to add Multi Band Combiner altogethet with booster at theGSM network side.Keywords: WiFi, GSM Indoor, Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP), Received SignalStrength Indication (RSSI).

Abstract

The sub-system interaction and instability phenomena are a common problem in theDistributesd Power System (DPS). In order to regulate the output voltage or the speed, theinternal control function of a converter known as constant power load (CPL), results in theconverter tends to draw a constant power. This phenomena cause the input impedance ofCPL has negative incremental input impedance, which tends to create instability as it isconnected to a system. This paper concerns about the compensation method used to improvethe stability ot two or more connected subsystems, consisting of and L-C filter and a CPL. Acompensation method known as passive damping network containing only RC components isexamined purposedly to eliminate and reduce the instability of the subsystem. The passivedamping network was designed and simulated using PSpice. The results show that thedesigned passive damping network suitbale for small-scale power distribution system thatcontains constant power load with power level of 1kW.Keywords: Constant Power Load, DC – DC Converter, Passive Damping Circuit

The Presence of Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution (EDGE) to give new solution inhigh speed transfer. EDGE technology prepared for service data and prepare to widebandwitdh service.
