Abstract

This research is analysis of electricity demand, and focus for large industry sector in PT Perusahaan listrik Negara (Persero) or PT PLN (Persero). Dependent variable is demand electricity or kWh sales, and independent variable consist of install capacity, average tariff, and rate of capacity using percustomers. Step of research and process result based on SPSS calculation, and use cross section data on January 2010. Obtain result that install capacity and rate of capacity using percustomers has given positif impact, and average tariff has given negative impact. Install capacity and rate of capacity using percustomers variable has significant influence to electricity demand of large industry sector, but average tariff variable has not significant influence to electricity demand of large industry sector. PLN’s management has to observe growth of explanatory variable to make policy for demand and supply equilibrium and toward customers satisfaction.Keywords: Electricity demand: Strategy Management, and Microeconomic

Abstract

”Lean Production” has dominated much of the theory and practice of production syatem design since 1980s. It coused by the principles and demonstrated the benefit of ”Lean Production” in industrialized and developed countries. The basic of idea behind the system is eliminating waste. Abstract

This research explores in depth the benefits and the risks of human resource outsourcing strategy from vendor and employee perspective’s. The qualitative approach was used because this research is related to reasons and process of the benefit and the risk emergence for vendor and employee. The analysis unit consisted of the individual (the employee) and the organisation (the vendor company). The sources of data came from the informant, both the key and the second informant and the documents required. The determination of the informant was carried out by the purposive and snowball method. The data collection used the comprehensive interview method. The research findings revealed that: (1) the trust is the key point to achieve the benefit of human resources outsourcing for vendor in order to gain the opportunity to become the new player in the business, expands her/his business, and able to compete; (2) the risk for vendor has possitive correlation with skill and educations’ segment of the employee, the higher the skill/education, the higher the risk; (3) the new employee is more benefited of the outsourcing system compare to the old employee; (4) however, the old employee absorbed more of the risk of the outsourcing system compare to the new employee. Hence, this research proposes the human resources outsourcing model as a solution. This model focus on professionalism along with ethics and moral as a partnership and long term oriented. As a result, the model will be a mutually beneficial for both parties.Keywords: outsourcing, vendor, and employee

Abstract

The aims of this study were to test and analyze empirically the influence of owners’ personality on the small firm organizational culture, on their business strategy orientation, and on the enterprises performance either directly or indirectly. Hypothesis testing was done using empirical data obtained from the questionnaires collected from 365 owners’ of small firms. The testing of hypothesis model used SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) found that the owners’ personalities significantly influenced the organizational culture, and significantly influence the small firm strategy orientation, organizational culture influenced the business strategy orientation, and the owners’ personalities both through organizational culture and business strategy have dominant impact to the performance of their small sized enterprises. The theoretical implication gained in this study was the finding of a theoretical model showing correlation among owner’s personality, organizational culture, business strategy orientation, and their impact to small sized enterprise’s performance. The practical implication of this research suggests that in order to improve small sized enterprises performance, some trainings that meet the personality trait of small sized enterprises owners need to be conducted in order to develop organizational culture and business strategy.Keywords: Personality, Organizational Culture, Business Strategy, Small Sized Enterprise Performance

Abstract

This study aims to describe the explanatory variables, namely: Attribute Product (X1=brand and X2=physical evidence), price (X3=product price), and Mix Promotions (X4=advertising, X5=sales promotion, X6=personal recommendation through word of mouth); variables between the motivation (X7=motivation purchase), and the dependent variable is Buying Decision (Y), and search and explain the influence of direct, indirect, and total effect of all three types of variable with 212 population were pre-paid card subscribers TelkomFlexi-Trendy in Sawojajar Housing Complex, Lesanpuro, Kedungkandang, Malang, 68 people were taken samples of respondents. It is analized by path analysis from SPSS for windows ver 11.5. The results based on descriptive analysis shows, in general, respondents gave very positive responses to the 8 variables studied. Based on inferential analysis showed that variables significantly X7 directly to the Y with the path coefficient (α) equal to 0.319. From these results found in the fact that the variables X1 which has a dominant influence with the total effect of 0.741.Keywords: Attribute Product, Price, Promotion Mix, Motivation, Decision to Purchase.

Abstract

They made a number of suggestions to improve strategic management education and research, upon which this special issue of the International Journal of Business seeks to build.Scholars are confronted by issues such as government supported firms, social and economic effects of climate change, nanotechnology, internet based piracy, shifting societal values, and disruption of business by terrorism. Associated with changing problems of commerce is a need to develop more comprehensive and realistic measures of organizational performance. While some researchers have made progress in measuring return ’ real’ risk adjusted to shareholder, other are focused on return to a variety of stakeholder and are developing broader performance criteria. For example, some firms are progressing toward reducing their ’ ecological footprints’, and others have an aim of becoming ”carbon neutral”. They are attempting to satisfy stakeholder who wish to minimize an ’ intergenerational conflict” if the current generation of adults were to leave their children a ”greenhouse gas legacy” that would be very costly to remedy (Grant, 2006; Holdren, 2006; Stead and Stead, 2004) As consequences of corporate activities for the broader society become increasingly understood, researcher are quantifying key constructs and analyzing them in ways which take us closer to valid measures of comprehensive strategic performance. This article provide information for those seeking to improve strategic performance while accounting for impacts upon multiple levels and sectors of society.Keywords: merges, acquisition, finance and business.

Abstract

As in many developing countries, public services in education, health, public transportation, housing, social welfare, nutrient, electricity, and drinking water, are carried out by governmental bureaucracy that aims at improving the social welfare of the people. Because of that access to decision making process that determine the public services allocation and access to bureaucracy that determine the services distribution become important in reaching the services even distribution. Access can be used as framework to measure the governmental organizations in reaching the development goals and their abilities to decrease the social imbalances in the society. The research aimed at describing, analyzing and interpreting aspects that related with the policy formulation determination in effort to give health services to society at Syaiful Anwar Hospital, Malang. Based on the scope and reality that want to be investigated in the perspective of health services policy formulation that tend to be approached phenomenologically, then the research used qualitative approach. The results were the determination process of services policy formulation at Syaiful Anwar Hospital, Malang through stages and steps that begun with agenda determination stage, solution alternative identification, solution determination, trial run, evaluation stage, model determination stage, and socialization stage. In agenda determination stage, RSSA leadership take steps: list what agendas that should be considered, determining the agenda priority, and sort the agendas that will be discussed.Keywords: Determination process, policy formulation, public services

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (a) to understand the respective roles of formal and informal leaders (ondoporo/Ondoafi) in development planning activities in the of Kwadeware villages, District Waibu, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province; (b) to understanding the nature of each formal leader (headman) and informal leader (ondoporo / Ondoafi) towards the implementation of development programs in Kwadeware villages, District Waibu, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province; (c) to build a model or a synergistic form of leadership based on the pillars of brotherhood between both formal and informal leaders in the ward Kwadeware, District Waibu Jayapura Papua Province. The research method used in this study was a descriptive qualitative design. The research location was Kwadeware villages, Waibu District, Jayapura. The result of the study showed that a figure in indigenous Ondoapi Sentani is known as the central figure for the entire life of the people who live under his teritory. Conflicts of dualism leadership between formal and informal leaders, should become a major force in building a collaborative leadership in Kampung synergistially. In solving various problems concerning the rights of indigenous peoples in the village, governments should give a greater role to the institutions of indigenous peoples as a mediation between the government and traditional leaders in resolving the various problems that lead to the formation of a conflict of interest between adat leaders (ondoapi ) and the village chief.Keywords: informal leadership, implementation of development programs

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the influence of money supply, government spending, and interest rate of the inflation rate in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. In the analysis used multiple linear regression analysis (Multiple Regressions). This study uses time series data starting from 1980 to 2006. The type of data is secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, the Regional Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD), Bank Indonesia, and other related intansi and from various sources and other literature in connection with this research. Data were analyzed with OLS approach (Ordinary Least Square).The estimation results show satisfactory results. This is evident both from the testing of universal and partial, in which all independent variables in this study have a significant effect on inflation. Based on estimates of the variables in the money supply and government spending have positive and significantly and interest rates and also significantly negative effect on inflation. Based on estimates obtained koefiien determinant (R2) of 0.6878 which means that 68.78% variation of the variable inflation can be explained by variables in the money supply, government spending and interest rate of 68.78 percent and the balance of 31.22% is explained by variables which are not included in this study. In reducing inflation in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, the government can do by way of raising the level of production, lower wage levels and to supervise the rising prices of basic needs.Keywords: Inflation Analysis

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain whether the implementation of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in banking can improve bank CRM. performance and at the same time create satisfaction to customers. This study examined the relationship between variables that makes this research as an. explanatory research. The research was conducted in Makassar. This study used two stage sampling techniques for collecting the samples. The first stage is the census method on 43 sub-branches of Bank BNI and Bank Mandiri in Makassar city that consisted of 32 sub-branches of Bank BNI and 11 sub-branches of Bank Mandiri. The second stage is the unit observation by using proportional random sampling technique for selecting bank employees interacting directly with customers and using information technology in supporting his/her work. The observation was implemented on 137 respondents. The statistical analysis that is used to test the hypothesis is path analysis. The researcher also conducted in-depth interviews on bank customers to confirm the quantitative results on the influence of the banking performance on customer satisfaction. In more detailed results, this study shows that: first, market orientation influences the performance of the banks; second, information technology does not directly influence the performance of the bank, but it influences indirectly through knowledge; third, information technology influences knowledge; fourth, knowledge affects the performance of the banks; fifth, the banking performance affects customer satisfaction. Overall this study shows that Customer Relationship Management application has an impact on customer satisfaction.Keywords: CRM, market orientation, information technology, knowledge, banking performance, customer satisfaction
