Abstract

For the past thirty years Europe faces tumultuous counter action that appears to threaten the normative ideal of European institution. Driven by the call of recognition and acknowledgement, post-colonial migrants have posed a question on the basic presumption that bound European societies for long. Approach to assimilation, integration and multicultural society, appears to be inadequate to appeal migrants submit in the mainstream value. Demographically, ideologically and mythically threatening, Muslims are at the most part stand affront the greater challenge for European culture. The paper tries to bring to light the discourse that set this threat appearance come into being in European public sphere. Taking post-colonial on loan of description, the paper claim to overview the need to re-course the relations between Muslims and Europe, and the way discourse on Islam can be practiced in between.

Abstract

Since 2004, Japan used public diplomacy focusing in pop culture. Japan also conducted a kind of public diplomacy that using cuisine to promote the uniqueness of Japan culinary which known as gastrodiplomacy. Japan used washoku as an icon of its gastrodiplomacy. Washoku is chosen for its uniqueness, so it will increased the popularity of Japanese brand in the world. Japan selected United State to promote washoku for it is one of the washoku’s biggest market . This article is to provide the strategy, effort and effectiveness gastrodiplomacy washoku of Japan to United States that using many actors such as government, non state actors, businesses, private citizens, education sectors, and medias.

Abstract

Indonesia is a unitary state that introducing special autonomy since 1999. This policy is outlined in MPR Decree number IV on the Guidelines of State Policy in 1999-2004 to the rst of the General Assembly 14 to 21 October 1999. However, the problem from to turn the power of the President Abdurrahman Wahid, untill President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is still being questioned. It is because the views of people on the Indonesian government in contrast to the views of the people of Papua. View of the government, autonomy is de ned as the power to control and take care of the housekeeping area, which is attached to a unitary state like any in the federation. In a unitary state, regional autonomy is more limited to the countries that form the federation. The authority to control and take care of the household in a unitary state area includes all governmental authority except some matters that are held by the central government such as international relations, justice, nance, defense and security. Meanwhile, the views of the people of Papua, autonomy means that all the demands that have the rule of law, peace, and can solve the major problems facing the people of Papua. But the decision of the DPR RI relating to the special autonomy Papua were affecting the position of the people of Papua, giving rise to their desire for independence. Resolving these problems, some measures have been taken by the Indonesian government including: (1) Papua divided to be more two provinces; (2) the establishment of the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) as a condition for the implementation of special autonomy and (3) the provision of development funds in accordance with the special autonomy law. However, all of the policies that the central government is sometimes also lead to new con icts (such as the division of Papua that has cost the lives of the people of Papua). Why the con ict in Papua has not been resolved even though the various policies have been rati ed?

Abstract

Sebagai negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia, Indonesia memiliki potensi besar menjadi poros maritim dunia. Poros maritim merupakan sebuah gagasan strategis yang diwujudkan untuk menjamin konekti tas antar pulau, pengembangan industri perkapalan dan perikanan, perbaikan transportasi laut serta fokus pada keamanan maritim. Hal tersebut menjadi faktor Geopolitik tersendiri bagi bangsa Indonesia karena setiap langkah kebijakan yang akan diambil pemerintah juga akan dipengaruhi oleh Letak Geogra s Indonesia sebagai negara maritim. Bahkan sudah berulang kali dan dalam banyak forum internasional Presiden Jokowi menyampaikan sikap dan harapan-harapan Indonesia sebagai Poros Maritim Dunia sebagai salah satu cita-cita dan tujuan nasional bangsa. Mengingat besar sekali potensi dan peluang Indonesia pada Industri dan Jasa-jasa Maritim yang terbuka lebar di era globalisasi ini, tentunya akan timbul beberapa Masalah yang harus dihadapi Indonesia dan harus segera ditemukan solusinya. Dari uraian diatas, maka didapatkanlah Rumusan Masalah dalam bentuk pertanyaan sebagai berikut : “Apa saja problem yang dihadapi Indonesia dalam peningkatan Industri dan jasa-jasa maritim di Indonesia serta bagaimana Solusinya?”. Metodologi dalam pembuatan Paper ini adalah analisis data dari berbagai kejadian peristiwa menyangkut kemaritiman yang terjadi di Indonesia kemudian dideskripsikan menjadi sebuah pemikiran analisis beserta kesimpulan solusi dan saran kebijakan.

Abstract

Terpilihnya Hassan Rouhani menjadi presiden Iran setelah Mahmoud Ahmadinejad memunculkan harapan baru bagi Iran. Sanksi dan tekanan merupakan alasan utama dari masyarakat Iran untuk memilih Rouhani sebagai presiden. Sebagai seorang tokoh reformis, Hassan Rouhani mencoba untuk mengubah strategi dan sikap dari presiden sebelumnya, Ahmadinejad. Berlandaskan semangat revolusi, Ahmadinejad menerapkan kebijakan luar negeri yang bersifat konfrontatif dan radikal terhadap negara-negara Barat, khususnya Amerika Serikat dan Israel. Kebijakan yang konfrontatif dan radikal seringkali ia tunjukkan pada saat Amerika Serikat dan sekutunya mencoba menghentikan program nuklir yang semakin intensiv perkembangannya. Ketidakpercayaan negara- negara Barat terhadap program nuklir Iran di era Ahmadinejad, membuat negara-negara Barat menjatuhkan berbagai sanksi yang menyebabkan perekonomian Iran menjadi tidak stabil. Hal tersebut yang kemudian menjadi perhatian dan upaya Rouhani sebagai presiden baru Iran untuk segera memperbaiki situasi perekonomian Iran yang tidak stabil akibat sanksi. Hal tersebut ia lakukan dengan mengubah segala strategi kebijakan luar negeri yang konfrontatif menjadi lebih moderat, konstruktif dan terbuka.

Abstract

The European Union is an International Governmental Organization that has power to regulate and guide the member countries and has a role as an instrument, arena and actor. That power is channeled through international agreements and technical assistance principled democracy. The expansion of EU in uence in the Central European region began in the 1990s. In 1993 the Czech Republic and Slovakia split off, this phenomenon is called the Velvet Revolution. This revolution marked the collapse of the communist regime’s in uence in the Czech Republic. Vaclav Havel as the rst president of the Czech Republic decided to reform the country become more democratic. In early 2000 the EU channel values and principles of democracy in the Czech Republic through the Copenhagen Criteria and the Europe Agreement as well as support the implementation of this agreement through the nancial assistance program, called Phare Program and the Special Accession Program for Agricultural and Rural Developments. The European Union is an actor who played an important role in the process of change in the Czech Republic towards democracy.
