The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to formulate management strategies in realizing sustainable tourism in the tourist attraction of Ceking Rice Terrace, Tegallalang, Gianyar. Data were collected through direct observation, depth interview, questioner and library study and analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis, IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT, and QSPM matrix. The analysis shows that the general strategy that must be done to realize sustainable tourism in the tourist attraction of Ceking Rice Terrace is a growth strategy through product development by di erentiating and innovating products in the form of seasonal packages such as rice planting packages for tourists, plowing rice elds, understanding local wisdom such as subak irigation system and promoting prewedding photos shoot around the tourist attraction. The results of SWOT and QSPM matrix analysis show that there are nine alternative strategies with priority scale that must be done including con ict management, evaluation of compensation, environmental restructuring, professional management implementation, and improving service quality.

Abstract

Badung Regent Regulation No. 47 year 2010 on the establishment of the tourism village area in Badung Regency has determined that Badung regency has eleven tourism villages. Munggu Tourism Village is one of the eleven tourist villages. The development of Munggu Tourism Village still faces many obstacles since its adoption in 2010. The purpose of this study is to assess and formulate concepts and plans that will be the basis for the development of tourism village viewed from the constraints of the development of the tourism village, stakeholder participation as well as programs to develop tourism village of Munggu. Data in the research were collected through qualitative observation, in depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were obtained through purposive sampling for the local communities and the tourist. The article concludes that the the absence of master plan of tourism village and minimum sdupport from tourism stakeholders have caused problems in speeding up development of Munggu tourism village.

Abstract

This article is a research about the development of human resources in the hotel business in Dili, Timor Leste. This area has higher total number of employees compare to other areas in Timor-Leste though the foreign labour force still dominates in the management level and professional specialist, although number of local employee is bigger than number of foreign employee. The aim of this article is to nd out the condition of human resources and managerial e orts regarding to development of employees in the hotel business in Dili. The data collection is through deep interviews, eld observation and documentation study such as purposive sampling. The result of research shows that currently hotel employees trully need coaching and instruction in improving employees’ performances. Other than that, the mangerial part of the hotel business maintain their cooperation with the related government and educational institutions in providing opportunities for the hotel employees to participate in training and education in the hospitality field.

Abstract

This article discusses about the condition of community in Karimunjawa, which at this time Karimunjawa islands became one of the favorite tourist destinations in central Java. Rapid development of tourism in recent years bring signi cant a ects to the condition of the people. This article focuses on the social and cultural aspects of community, aims to explain about development of tourism and to describe the form of socio-cultural changes in Karimunjawa society. A qualitative approach was used to discuss the problems. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. It was found that tourism in Karimunjawa started when the destination was accessible for tourist. Then, there have been social and cultural change in Karimunjawa community, those are jobs opportunity, division of work, hospitality, education, language skill, lifestyle and social solidarity. These changes have a ected the sustainability of tourism and therefore they need to be directed and managed by all of involved stakeholders in order to maintain the harmonious relationship between community and tourism development.

Abstract

Waturaka Village, East Nusa Tenggara Province, has a rich tourist attractions, but they have not been managed optimally. Thi article analyses the village tourism potential and set strategies to develop tourist attarctions of the village. Data collection was conducted through observation, interview, and documentation study. Interview was conducted with as many as 25 people and was divided into four categories including representative of government o cers, NGO activists, members of tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis), and villagers. Data were analyzed by using SWOT techniques (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threat). The results shows that the main potential tourist attractions are Murukeba Waterfall and agro- tourism and the development is in the involvement stage. S-O strategy (Strength-Opportunities) is applied by using strength to take advantage of opportunities. ST Strategy (Strength- Threat) is applied by utilizing strength to overcome the threat. WO (Weakness-Opportunities) strategy is applied to minimize the weaknesses to take advantage of opportunities. WT strategy (Weakness-Threat) is conducted to minimize weaknesses to avoid threats.

Abstract

This article analyzed the participation of the local communities to develop the tourist attractions in the Old Town of Jakarta which was conducted to determine the forms of participation necessary for the local communities, to determine the factors which a ect the participation, and the impact of their participation. The methods utilized in this article are qualitative methods with data collection through interviews, observation, literature review, and document analysis. This article explains the forms of participation of the local communities which involve creating and showing new tourist attractions and preserving the existing tourist attractions. The factors which a ect the participation are divided into two types: supporting factors and the obstacles. In addition, this article also managed to nd the impact of the local communities participation which divided into two types: positive and negative impacts. The expected result of this article is to contribute to developing the tourist attractions and sustainable tourism in Jakarta as well as Jakarta’s Old Town in particular.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to channel creative potential in creating an eco-tourism. The research was carried out in the area a national park in the region of the ex Besuki Residency, East Java. This study used ethical and emic perspectives. The results show that the development of responsible and sustainable of eco-tourism require gure of mobilisers, community togetherness, public appreciation of the natural resources, community openness to receive visitors, the growth of natural-based creative economy sectors, and the government’s attention in providing infrastructure especially for accessibility. The novelty of this study is the importance of understanding the development of eco-tourism which is based of creative instinct, appreciating local wisdom’s values, understanding, comprehending and embracing the meaning and essence of keeping the relationship between humans and humans, nature and the Creator in balance. Intellectual capability with local indigenous power is such the main factor for a responsible, bene cial, and sustainable development of eco-tourism.

Abstract

Foreign tourists realize that health is as important as the need to travel, therefore travel health should be one important factor in supporting tourism in Bali. This study aimed to analyze the perception of foreign tourists to the performance of health services in BaliMe?d Denpasar Hospital in terms of ve categories of services that cover all aspects of the form of direct, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, as well as to determine the service indicator most dominant in uencing tourist satisfaction over the performance of health services provided. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and interviews to the foreign tourist who came for treatment or hospitalization at the BaliMe?d. The result of the study shows that the perception of tourists to medical services is in the category of satisfactory and should be maintained, while the relationship between indicators of health services in this hospital in terms of the expectation value of foreign tourists to the perception of health services is very strong.

Abstract

The research aimed to investigate (1) CSR program conducted at Nihiwatu Resort, (2) factors that drive the implementation of CSR, and (3) implementation impact of CSR in ecotourism development in West Sumba Region. Data analysis was done descriptively qualitativeby applying stakeholder theory, theory of legitimacy, theory of corporate citizenship and impact theory. The results showed that CSR activities run by Nihiwatu Resort were not only incidental CSR but a sustainable one.The driving factors of CSR were as a form of moral obligation, to improve the company image, and to gain pro t. The social impacts were gaining government support and publicacceptance, proximity to health services; and easy access to clean water. Economic impacts include creating employment opportunities and improving economic structures. While the ecological impacts of the CSR programs are the the minimization of energy consumption generated through the use of vernacular concepts in all existing properties.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to determine the Batur Global Geopark, Kintamani, Bali, contribution to the economy of the local community, determine the ratio and changes in the standard of living that occur before and after Batur be the member of Batur Global Geoparks Network GGN, and the level of community participation in tourism activities in Batur Geopark. This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Research instrument was a questionnaire with accidental sampling technique and interviews with a sample set with a purposive. The results of this study stated that there was no change of standard of living as well as earnings before and after Batur Geopark designated as members of GGN. Lack of community participation is considered as a cause. Therefore, the article suggests a community-based tourism / community as a solution.
