Abstract

ABSTRACT Women Farmer Group "Sri Rejeki" was formed with the objectives to  empo-wer farmer communities Ngaglik Village, Batu.  They produce Aloe vera based products such as jelly candies, instant powder, jam, and syrup. The problem faced by this group is low production efficiency that impact on low quality and quantity of Aloe vera based products, that makes less competitiveness to gain larger market share.  This group  needs tech-nology transfer and innovation in order to produce higher quality products through LLM (Low Technology, Low Investment, and Marketable). By this program, the activities included dissemination of good manufacturing practices, standard ope-rating production (SOP) as well as the facilitation of production machines and equipment such as blender, mixer mechanical and oven for processed aloe vera based products. These equipments have been used and increase  production efficiency indicating by shorter production time, higher production capacity and higher product quality.Keywords: aloe vera, capacity, efficiency, production, technology transfer

Abstract

Kondang Merak laid on South of Malang facing of Indian Ocean. This area had small fisheries village which inhibited by 30 families. 12 fisheries worked as compressor diver who collect lobster and abalone surrounding of reef in Kondang Merak. Those commodity usually hand collected by fishermen using compressor dive. During dive fishermen ignored depth, bottom time or tools that they used. We are introduced self contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) training for fishermen. Aims of this training were to give: knowledge about diving and physical and environment aspect influence dive activity; technical use of SCUBA and caring for diving apparatus. Good skill and technic will obviate fishermen from decompression sickness disease (DCS) and nitrogen narcosis which have dangerous impact for health of fisherman in Kondang Merak. Keywords: Kondang Merak, compresor diver, SCUBA, DCS, compressor

Abstract

ABSTRACTBaganis one type of fishing gear that uses light to collect fish. The lights are expected to stimulate the fish to come and stay around the light and than arrested with net. The use of light for fishing is growing rapidly, almost all fishing gear use light as a tool for collecting fish. Application of this technology aims to increase fish catch fishermen in District Lekok through the application of technology underwater lamp with LED. Underwater lamp applied to the bagantancapwith a certain intensity and color to find the intensity of light and color that give the best catches.Best catches in the light of 450 lux is capable of delivering the highest total catch of 254 kg, it is supported by the values of illumination of 1.5 lux at a distance of 5 m. Abstract

ABSTRACTGinger chips is a kind of snack that made from ginger, shredded coconut, sesame seeds, and sugar. This product is similar to candy, but this product is produced inefficiently due to anual and traditional process. The purpose of this activity is to increase the production capacity of ginger chips at UKM Sona Jaya in Batu by applied the mechanical processing  machines to fulfill the market demand. This acivity  successfully introduced the washing machine for ginger tuber with the capacity of 5 kg ginger/process/5 minutes, shredding machine with the capacity of 1 piece coconut/minute, and roasting machine with the capacity 12 piece coconut/process/4 hours. It is also applied digital scales and continuous sealer. By this processing machines, it showed the increasing of efficiency and average production capacity as high as 25%. Keywords: digital scale, ginger chips, rhizome, roasting machine,  shredder, washing machine

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this community service is to optimalize the integrated health service post in increasing toddler development. We held some health education and training to its cadet about integrated health service post management and repair some Posts facilities. Other purpose is to develop entrepreneurship among Flamboyan cadet post collaborating with catfish farmer in Gading Kulon Malang Regency. The catfish was processed as dried shredded catfish that hygienic, nutritious, and high selling values. The result of these activities was accomplishment of 100% of cadets’ knowledge and skill in post management. During the development screening, there were 25norm toddler participants.The corporation with catfish farmer produced a pilot catfish pond and independent funds from dried shredded catfish selling. Survey result to 20 consumers shows that 90% of them were satisfied to the taste of dried shredded catfish. Keyword: community empowerment,dried shredded catfish, independent integrated health service post revitalization

Abstract

The aim of this community service was to introduce a new technology of Milk Blue Crab to improve its economic value. The activity was conducted by extension and demonstrating to the small medium enterprises in Pasuruan City. The success of activities was evaluated by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the community was interested to try and implement this new technology (smoking cash fish, meat mincer, and grinder machine). However, there were some problems for the small medium enterprises to apply this method, such as inadequate equipment. Therefore, such technology was only conducted by home industry that still cannot extend its market share. Consequently, selling activities  cannot operates well. The suggestion from this activity was important to make business partnership between government, entrepreneur and other institutions that has a relation to this activity to increase more society incomes.Keywords: blue crab, bubu net, steamer, sortage table

Abstract

AbstractJabon area, Sidoarjo district is one of shoreline area that it have about 40 percentage of this is ponds. These used farming of agarophyte seaweeds, i.e. alga producing agar-agar, such as Gracilaria sp. Postharvest activity of this by farmer comprise of plucking, bringing, drying, and packaging produce quality of dry seaweeds lower than Indonesia National Standard and cause cheap price. The purpose of this study was to obtain increasing quality of dry agarophyte seaweeds by drum type of washing machine. The method of this activity was Participatory Rural Appraisal involving enlightenment, demonstration, and partnership in using of drum washing machine to group of farmer and seaweed cultivator on Tegalsari village, Jabon area, Sidoarjo district. The result showed that partner followed enthusiastically the enlightenment, demonstration, and partnership. The quality of dry seaweeds that washed by drum machine was rise and included in product criteria of Indonesia National Standard. The yield of dry seaweeds increased to 17.5% and the gel strength of agar-agar was higher six times and also the selling price expanded to 42% or Rp 2,500.- each kilograms. The conclusion is using drum washing machine able to increase the quality and selling price of dry seaweeds and move the increasing of prosperity of seaweed farmer and dry seaweeds cultivators.Keywords: drum washing machine, Gracilariasp, postharvest, quality, selling price.

Abstract

Batu City has a potential livestock (rabbits, beef cattle, and dairy cows). Brau  Village in Batu City is one of the centers of dairy cow farmers and they are the member of business cooperative "Margo Makmur Mandiri" which is a partner with KUD "DAU". The need of concentrate for feed is 60% in addition to elephant grass. Purchasing price of animal feed in KUD "DAU" is Rp.85.000, - per zak @ 50 kg while the animal feed from KSU Rp.75.000/zak with profits 12,000, - up to 20,000/zak. The number of dairy cows in the Brau Village is 500 cows with the need of 6 kg per cow per day.  Therefore at least it is needed 18 tons for 10 days feeding.  Especially during the dry season, the demand is 20-25 tons per 10 days. Technology transfer is required for improving capacity and efficiency of feed production including grinders (cap crusher/hammer mill), genset power plants, conveyor, cyclone and blower. The coaching was pursued about quality standards, marketing and commercial business management. This program can improve the quality, quantity and profits that impact on the welfare of society, especially cow dairy farmers in Brau Village. Abstract

ABSTRACT Hongkong caterpillar cultivation is one of the actvities of people in Oro-oro Ombo Village, Batu. Its production capacity is 2-3 tons per week or 8-12 tons per month. The products are in the form of hongkong caterpillars and feces. Marketing area of Hongkong cartepillar is some cities at Java. The problems faced by farmer group are low production efficiency and capacity because some steps in cultivation are done manually. Alternative solution is technology transfer by mechanical equipment in cultivation including cutting machine, sieving, and semi automatic shredder. The results of the implementation are an increase in production efficiency, product quality and production capacity of Hongkong cater-pillars. Improvement of existing pro-duction systems with the application of Good Manufacturing Practice, logbook production and management of SME financial statements that is more pro-fessional, besides increasing awareness of health and safety among workers that suggests to increase production capacity that is expected to increase revenue.Keyworda: efficiency of production,  Hongkong caterpillars, production capacity

Abstract

ABSTRACT Improvement and quality control in food processing is to be done in order to improve the competitiveness of the food product. Purpose of service activities is to introduce the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to Rotterdam Bakery SMEs to achieve high competitiveness in the market. To support this, three pieces of mechanical equipment is introduced, the automatic oven, proofer anti rust and wet dough mixer horizontal type. The result of the introduction of science and technology shows an increase in the production of bread almost doubled from SMEs Rotterdma bakery than prior to introduction. From kenambelas points GMPimplementation, until now still new Rotterdam can carry four points perfectly. Keywords: GMP, food, SME
