Abstract

Madura Island is one of the largest salt producing areas in Indonesia. Salt is included in the type of complementary ingredients in every dish. Rich Mineral salt is salt obtained from the total crystallization process without removing various minerals contained in the raw materials, so that the mineral content is higher than consumption salt in general. This study aims to describe the fluctuations and the relationship between physical parameters consisting of water temperature, water density and water level during the salt production process. This study uses three prototype geomembranes with a size of 60x40x16 cm in salt production. This study uses quantitative methods in the form of numbers obtained based on facts in the field. The results of this study are that the three prototypes have a temperature range, water density and water level that are not significantly different. This is showed by the results of the ANOVA test, where the P-value of the three prototypes is greater than the alpha value (α). In this study also obtained a correlation value between the parameters of water density and water level. The correlation value resulting from the calculation of the linear equation between the two parameters is 0.93. Based on these results, it can be interpreted that the water density and water level have a correlation relationship of 93%. So, it can be concluded that the higher the water level, the lower the water level.

Abstract

Perifiton whose life is attached to the substrate, acts as a provider of nutrients and indicators of fishery water quality. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure, abundance and diversity of epiphytic and epidendric periphyton in floating net cages and water quality. This research was conducted by purposive sampling in upstream, middle and downstream. The method used is exploratory quantitative, from May and June 2021 with sampling time at the beginning of each month. The main phytoplankton periphyton composition consists of Chlorophyceae and Bacillariophyceae. Chlorophyceae increased from 19 genera at the beginning of the observation to 24 genera, while Bacillariophyceae decreased from 22 to 21 genera. Phytoplankton periphytons that were always present in each observation both at STA-1, STA-2 and STA-3 were Synedra, Diatoma, Tabellaria, Fragillaria, Zygnema, Spirogyra, Mougeotiopsis, Microspora, Chlorodesmis cosmosa and Closterium. Unstable community structure with an abundance of 600 – 1320 cells/liter, uniformity index 0.53 – 0.884, diversity index 1.104 – 1.750 and dominance index 0.14 -0.47 classified as oligotropic. Similar periphyton upstream and midstream, but different downstream. The presence of Synedra in all locations indicates that there has been a decline in water quality due to low dissolved oxygen. Water quality at the site informs that low pH, high ammonia and high organic matter result in low dissolved oxygen.

Abstract

The development of abnormal skin pigment cells can cause a skin cancer called melanoma. Melanoma can be cured if diagnosed and treated in its early stages. Various studies using various technologies have been developed to conduct early detection of melanoma. This research was conducted to diagnose melanoma skin cancer with digital image processing techniques on the dermoscopic image of skin cancer. The diagnosis is made by classifying dermoscopic images based on the types of Common Nevus, Atypical Nevus or Melanoma. Pre-processing is done by changing the RGB image to grayscale (grayscaling), smoothing image using median filtering, and image segmentation based on binary images of skin lesions. The value of Contrast, Correlation, Energy and Homogeneity obtained from the texture feature extraction of the GLCM method is used in the next step, which is the classification process with the Multi-SVM algorithm. The proposed research method shows high accuracy results in diagnosing skin cancer

Abstract

Crackers are one of the traditional foods in Indonesia which now has many home industries to produce it. There are 3 ways of drying, including traditional, modern, and hybrid. In the study of designing a temperature and humidity control system using the PID method on a trush burner cracker dryer, it was carried out in a modern way, with the materials needed for design, plastic waste, Arduino Uno, DHT11 sensor, oven, boiler, and pump. From the test results, the maximum water pipe testing was carried out at a temperature of 53 oC, the maximum drying room temperature was 45 oC, and the maximum boiler temperature was 56 oC. The function of the temperature and humidity control system on the trush burner type cracker dryer helps dry crackers practically in rainy season conditions

Abstract

Efforts to increase the use of new and renewable energy continue to be carried out where the one of the programs is to seek the use of mixed fuels (co firing) in fossil fuel power plants such as steam power plant. The main fuel in steam power plant mostly uses coal and the mixed fuel can be used as biomass fuel. Palm oil empty fruit bunches are one of the potentially large biomass that can be used as mixed fuel because of its abundant availability, especially in Riau Province. However, palm oil empty fruit bunches have a low heating value of combustion, so the treatment needs to be carried out in order to palm oil empty fruit bunches as biomass fuel have a high heating value. This study aims to increase the heating value of palm oil empty fruit bunches by torrefaction process so that palm oil empty fruit bunches have a high heating value and equivalent to the heating value of coal. The torrefaction process is carried out with variations in time and temperature of torrefaction, namely 30 - 60 minutes and 200oC - 300oC. The research carried out results in the largest heating value of 7470.59 kcal/kg at a time process of 60 minutes and a torrefaction temperature of 300oC.
