Abstract

This research purposes the strategies and challenges of digital preservation in libraries. This research uses a literature study because the data is collected through books, journal, and other sources. Data analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The data collection technique in this research is by reading several source, analyzing the data, and concluding data. The result of this research found that there are several digital preservation strategies in the library such as technology preservation, refresh or update, migration, emulation, digital archeology, and converting digital data to analog. Libraries in carrying out digital preservation activities certainly have challenges that must be faced, such as the relatively short age of storage media, obsolescence of equipment, information security, and sudden loss of digital collection. Abstract

Libraries and librarians who need each other and cannot be separated, a library without a librarian will work if there is no one to direct it and vice versa. Currently, librarianship activities are growing due to advances in information technology. This development requires librarians to be able to master information technology in practice which is becoming a global world trend. This change makes the library need to prepare a development strategy to face challenges and maintain library performance in meeting the information needs of increasingly diverse users. The development of the librarian system is something that is done to perfect the existing system including activities to study, develop, analyze, criticize the work of the library and examine the development of the librarian system. There is a relationship between libraries and archives, namely archives as evidence of an activity in the form of information media that is created and received by institutions or organizations and needs to be managed according to the needs of each institution or organization. In addition, it is also needed for simplification in managing and ease of carrying out the implementation process. In addition, a library needs to have goals that must be achieved so that it can keep abreast of developments, especially in the field of information technology and can continue to make technological improvements so that managing activities in the library can run optimally.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how the administration of case files in the religious courts of Badung Province uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data sources for this study are observations, documents, and interviews with primary and secondary data sources from other sources such as books, journals, and literary reviews. He is the informant for this survey. The data analysis techniques used by the authors are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and inference. The results of this study show that due to lack of archivists, manual preservation system and lack of SOP increase, the management of archival preservation at Badung District Court is still sub-optimal from an archival preservation perspective. This can make restoring old archives difficult.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of reference collections in the Indonesian Computer Science College Library (STIKI). This research was conducted by conducting direct interviews with librarians at the Indonesian Computer Science College Library (STIKI) Denpasar. The data analysis technique used in this study is a data analysis technique with data collection, data reduction, data presentation and the last step is drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research on the use of collections in the STIKI Indonesia Library. Based on the results of the research, the authors show that the users make use of the reference collection very well when there are assignments from the lecturers and do the final assignments. In its use, only a few reference collections are used by users such as Task Reference. The obstacle in the use of reference collections is the lack of understanding of librarian to socialize reference collections in the library. Several other constraining factors are seen in the collections that are not in accordance with the needs of users and the compilation of collections based on artificial classifications, causing some reference collections to be difficult to obtain.

Abstract

User education services are a process in which library users are made aware of the vast number of library resources, services, and information resources available to users, and taught how to use these resources. User education service is an activity to guide or give instructions to users and potential users of UPT. Mahasaraswati Denpasar University Library. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of user education services on library utilization at the Library of UPT. Mahasaraswati University Denpasar. This study discusses the effect of user education services on library utilization at the Library of UPT. Mahasaraswati Denpasar University by using quantitative research methods. The data analysis technique of this research uses validity test, reliability test, descriptive data analysis and simple linear regression analysis using SPSS (Statistical Package Social Science) software. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between user education services on library utilization at the Library of Mahasaraswati University Denpasar.
