Abstract

The transformation of information technology in the digital era has revolutionized trade, with buying and selling now shifting to online platforms such as Twitter. One innovation that has emerged is the "jasa titip" (Entrusted Service), where individuals purchase goods or services at the request of others and receive a fee in return. The entrusted service for concert tickets has become increasingly popular among young people, providing fans with ease in obtaining tickets for international artists' concerts. The aims of this research are to examine the practice of buying and selling concert tickets through entrusted service on the Twitter platform and to review the Islamic legal perspective on entrusted service in the context of concert ticket sales on Twitter. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research approach based on fieldwork. The primary data sources consist of interviews with service providers of concert ticket sales on Twitter, while secondary data is obtained from mass media, books, journals, and other references. The methods for data collection in this research include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that this practice meets the requirements of a clear contract, utilizing the wakalah (agency) contract, where service providers act as representatives for customers. The clarity of information regarding prices and ticket availability reduces gharar (uncertainty). Service providers also implement security measures to protect customer data and are committed to addressing complaints fairly. This research demonstrates that the market potential for jasa titip concert tickets on Twitter remains promising, despite facing challenges.

Abstract

Digitalization has become an integral part of modern financial management, including in supporting the operations of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to analyze the integration of Sharia economic principles in digital payment systems used by creative micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Jepara Regency, Central Java. A qualitative approach was employed, incorporating in-depth interviews and literature reviews. Data were collected from seventeen MSEs that utilize digital payment platforms for business activities. The findings reveal that most MSMEs have adopted digital payment platforms, such as QRIS, GoPay, and OVO, to support their transactions. However, implementing Sharia principles, such as prohibiting gharar (uncertainty), maysir (gambling), and riba (usury), remains challenging. While awareness of the importance of Sharia principles is relatively high, limited Sharia financial literacy and lack of access to Sharia-compliant platforms hinder wider adoption. This study offers strategic recommendations, such as enhancing Sharia financial literacy, developing Sharia-compliant digital payment platforms, and fostering collaboration between regulators, service providers, and the Muslim community. Implementing these measures is expected to promote Sharia financial inclusion and strengthen Indonesia's Islamic economic ecosystem.

Abstract

Digital transactions utilize a digitized system, providing easy access for economic actors and making them an effective transactional method. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital transactions through the lens of the philosophy of science. Digital transactions, as an innovation of conventional transactions, have provided accessibility and efficiency in economic activities. However, alongside their benefits, digital transactions also face challenges such as cybercrime, low digital literacy, and weak legal protection. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, collecting and analyzing data from various literature sources. The findings indicate that digital transactions are not yet fully effective due to weaknesses in security systems, public literacy, and legal regulations. The philosophical analysis reveals that digital transactions need to be integrated with moral and ethical principles to achieve optimal effectiveness. This study provides recommendations for service providers, users, and the government to enhance security, education, and regulations in digital transactions.

Abstract

The integration-interconnection paradigm proposed by Amin Abdullah seeks to address the long-standing dichotomy between religious sciences and general sciences, which has often hindered the development of Islamic knowledge. While offering a holistic approach, the application of this paradigm within the context of Islamic law still faces resistance from conservative groups and a lack of systematic, applicable methodology. This issue has led to Islamic law often being perceived as static and unable to respond to contemporary issues such as Islamic economics, the environment, and human rights. This study aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of applying the integration-interconnection paradigm in the study of Islamic law. Using a qualitative method with a literature review approach, this research analyzes the works of Amin Abdullah and relevant secondary literature. Content analysis is employed to identify gaps in application, relevance, and strategies needed to overcome these obstacles. The results indicate that this paradigm holds significant potential for creating Islamic law that is responsive, relevant, and adaptable to the needs of the era. It successfully unites the normative aspects of religion with the historical reality of society through an interdisciplinary approach. However, conservative resistance and the lack of operational methodological guidance remain major barriers. Therefore, the development of a more inclusive applied methodology and strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue are necessary to ensure this paradigm can be optimally applied in the study of modern Islamic law

Abstract

The development of the modern cosmetics industry has raised issues regarding the halal status of the raw materials used, with lanolin being one of the most controversial ingredients. The problem arises when lanolin is obtained from sheep that have been slaughtered in an unclear manner. This study aims to analyze the halal status of lanolin from sheep that have not been slaughtered by looking at the views of evaluating its compliance with halal regulations in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research and comparative analysis approach to examine the opinions of scholars and halal regulations in Indonesia. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation methods, namely searching through fiqh books, fatwas from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), scientific journals, the Halal Product Guarantee Law, and other relevant academic literature. The results of the study show that the majority of scholars from various schools of thought argue that lanolin is a pure and halal substance because it comes from sheep's wool, which is not considered carrion, and has undergone a process of transformation to become halal and pure because it has been changed into another form. This view is reinforced by the MUI fatwa, which states that lanolin from halal animals that have not been slaughtered may be used in non-food products such as cosmetics. According to Islamic law, the sale and purchase of cosmetics containing lanolin is considered valid and halal, as long as it fulfills the conditions and requirements of buying and selling.

Abstract

Islamic banking, as an Islamic financial institution, is not solely profit-oriented but also holds a social responsibility to enhance societal welfare in accordance with the maqasid sharia principles. These principles align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study aims to assess the commitment of Islamic banking institutions to achieving the SDGs by employing a quantitative descriptive approach with time-series analysis. The analyzes data trends over a specified period using secondary data obtained from the sustainability reports of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and Bank Muamalat for the 2021–2024 period. Data collection involved identifying, downloading, and examining relevant sustainability reports containing information on programs, policies, and initiatives that support the attainment of the SDGs. The findings indicate that, overall, BSI demonstrates a stronger commitment to sustainability and environmentally oriented financing compared to Bank Muamalat, with a greater emphasis on funding for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In contrast, Bank Muamalat exhibited an increasing trend in financing the medium segment but experienced a significant decline in financing for the micro and small segments. This study reaffirms the contribution of Islamic banking-particularly BSI and Bank Muamalat in supporting the achievement of the SDGs through various strategic sector initiatives. The findings provide valuable insights into the role of Islamic banking in fostering inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The Sadd Dzari‘ah principle is understood as an effort to block any means or channel that may lead to what is prohibited (haram). In the context of the Islamic capital market, this principle serves as a preventive pillar that safeguards the purity of Sharia compliance by avoiding riba (usury), gharar (excessive uncertainty), and manipulation. This study aims to analyze how the principle of Sadd Dzari'ah is operationalized as an investor protection mechanism in the Indonesian Islamic capital market through Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 40/DSN-MUI/X/2003, No. 80/DSN-MUI/III/2011, No. 124/DSN-MUI/XI/2018, No. 135/DSN-MUI/V/2020, No. 138/DSN-MUI/V/2020, and No. 157/DSN-MUI/VII/2024. This research employs a normative-comparative approach grounded in uṣūl fiqh and Islamic economic law analysis. The findings reveal that the application of Sadd Dzari‘ah in DSN-MUI fatwas has evolved from a prohibitive principle into an integrative Sharia governance paradigm encompassing investor protection, digital supervision, and the reinforcement of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. Each fatwa represents an evolutionary stage of this principle-from the conceptual phase (2003) toward the global-digital regulatory framework (2020–2024). Thus, Sadd Dzari‘ah functions as both a legal and moral instrument for investor protection in Indonesia’s Islamic capital market.
