Abstract

Myxomas are common benign cardiac tumors that can cause life-threatening events. A case of left atrial myxoma, which induced acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and stroke, is very rare. Patient with concomitant cardiac disease and stroke have lower aerobic capacity than patients with cardiac disease or stroke alone. Here, we report a case presented on 41 years old male patient who diagnosed acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and ischemic stroke (IS) which were induced by left atrial myxoma. He came for phase II cardiac rehabilitation (CR) after underwent surgery with fatigue complaint when he walked more than 500 meters and climbed one floor of stairs. A four weeks comprehensive CR was given to this patient, including a supervised high-intensity interval training (HIIT), thrice a week. This report showed that HIIT can improves functional capacity (FC) and quality of life in patients who suffered left atrial myxoma which induced AMI and IS.

Abstract

Meningitis Tuberculosis (TB) is a rare manifestation of extrapulmonary TB and can progress to Meningoencephalitis. Cerebellar tremor is a tremor in the head caused by cerebellar diseases such as strokes, tumors, multiple sclerosis, and certain drugs. This study describes a case of a 17-year-old boy who was infected with TB meningoencephalitis with cerebellar tremors. A 17-year-old boy came to the emergency room at K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro Hospital with the main complaint of shaking head. The patient was diagnosed with meningoencephalitis TB and cerebellar tremors. Meningitis TB occurs due to the hematogenous spread of primary pulmonary TB or from rupture of the subependymal tubercles into the subarachnoid space and can progress to Meningoencephalitis. Clinical manifestations that can appear are a combination of meningitis and encephalitis and movement disorders caused by encephalitis. The management obtained in this patient was TB drugs, corticosteroids, and anti-seizures. Cerebellar tremor is one of the clinical manifestations caused by Tuberculosis encephalitis that must be watched out for to get adequate treatment.

Abstract

Since dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) can cause liver damage, aminotransferase levels as liver function test may be useful in predicting the severity of dengue hemorrhagic fever. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between transaminase enzyme levels and the severity of dengue hemorrhagic fever. This study used analytic observational approach with cross-sectional design. The data used was secondary data, namely medical records of H. Adam Malik Hospital and Hospital of Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis University of North Sumatera. From a total of 65 patients included, there were 63.1% (41 patients) with DHF grade 1, 29.2% (19 patients) were DHF grade 2, 6.2% (4 patients) were DHF grade 3 and 1.5% (1 medical record) were DHF grade 4. For aminotransferase level 56.9% (37 records) had elevated SGPT levels and 92.3% (60 records) had elevated SGOT levels, it was found that there was no relationship between increased levels of SGPT and SGOT with the severity of DHF (SGPT p = 0.628 and SGOT p = 1.00). There is no association between the elevations of transaminase enzyme levels and the severity of DHF.

Abstract

Quality of Life (QoL) for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients is important. This study aims to analyze the religiosity and family support on the QoL for AMI patients. This study uses quantitative observational analytical methods with a cross-sectional design. Total sampling of data was collected by paying attention to the sample criteria at Roemani Hospital of the 74 respondents, inclusion was found to be 46 respondents.  The study instrument used a Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES) to religiosity level, Saragih family support questionnaire to assess family support as a variable independent. MacNew Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) to assess quality of life as a dependent variable.  Analyzed data using tests rank Spearman. It was found that 80.43% of respondents had a high level of religiosity, 17.39% moderate, and 2.17% poor. There were 80.43% of respondents had good family support, and 19.57 % sufficient. Respondents had good QoL (78.26%), and poor (21.74%). These results showed that the religiosity level correlated with the QoL for AMI patients (p=0.000; r=+0.934). Family support correlated with the quality of life of AMI (p=0.000; r=+0.936). The higher religiosity level and family support, the higher the QoL for AMI patients. So, the patient must increase the level of religiosity and their families should be more supportive to improve QoL.

Abstract

Being healthy is everyone's fundamental right. For this purpose, states, institutions providing health services and individuals have very important duties. Health literacy is defined as the ability of an individualistic to understand and interpret this information and act accordingly when an individualistic is asked to provide medical information. This study was conducted in a descriptive manner to examine the health literacy grade of individuals applying to a university hospital. Data were collected with the Descriptive Characteristics Information Form and the Türkiye Health Literacy Scale (TSOY-32). Ethics committee approval for the research and written consent were obtained from the participants. 167 volunteer individuals were included in the research. It was determined that the Health Literacy grade of 97% of the participants was insufficient. It is important to direct individuals to health education and health promotion programs or to organize training on these issues in hospitals.

Abstract

Seizures known as febrile seizures occur in children between the ages of six months and five years when they have an increase in body temperature (any temperature above 38 degrees Celsius), which is not brought on by an intracranial process. The research aims to determine the correlation between hematological profile, temperature, and nutritional status with the type of children’s febrile seizure at RSUD dr. Adhyatma, MPH Semarang. This study used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach and total sampling technique. Accordingly, medical records at RSUD dr. Adhyatma MPH Semarang became the source of data in this study. Moreover, analysis of the study’s data utilized the Chi-square test. Based on bivariate analysis, it was found that a p-value of 0.511 between temperature and type of febrile seizure, a p-value of 0.624 between nutritional status and type of febrile seizure, a p-value of 0.100 between hemoglobin levels and type of febrile seizure, and p-value of 0.026 number of leukocytes was related to the type of febrile seizure. There is a relationship between the number of leukocytes and the type of febrile seizure.

Abstract

Sleep quality is a crucial factor influencing the overall well-being and performance of individuals, including university staff. Several studies have highlighted that sleep quality among university staff can be influenced by various factors, including workload, stress levels, work-life balance, and environmental conditions. This study conducted to analyzing the factors related to sleep quality and their impact on the work performance of staff at Universitas Bengkulu. This analytical observational with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on a sample of 115 teaching staff at Universitas Bengkulu, who met the criteria lecturers at Universitas Bengkulu, aged 25-65, and who have been teaching for at least three months. Sleep quality is measured with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and individual productivity is assessed using the Individual Work Productivity Questionnaire (IWPQ). The data analysis methods used are Chi-Square, Simple Logistic Regression, and Multiple Logistic Regression. The result of this study there is a significant relationship between sleep quality (p=0.041); sleep duration (p=0.02); and activity disfunction (p=0.029) with work performance. In the final multivariate modeling, logistic regression analysis revealed that the variables significantly related to work performance are sleep duration and activity dysfunction (p=0.001). For conclusion, the study found that poor sleep quality and activity dysfunction significantly impact work performance, with less than 5 hours of sleep increasing the risk of low performance by up to 10.6 times. Despite high sleep efficiency, inadequate sleep duration and daytime activity issues were key factors contributing to reduced productivity

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Failure (CKF) is a global health problem with a high prevalence, including in Indonesia. Renal replacement therapy, such as hemodialysis, is used to maintain the life of patients with CKF. The study aims to analyze the correlation between total urine protein levels and the frequency of hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital from January to September 2023. The research is quantitative and descriptive, using cross-sectional survey methods and secondary data from patient medical records. Statistical analysis uses the Spearman test to test the correlation between variables. Total of HD frequency 1x/week = 6, 2x/week = 58, 3x/week= 1. In order, the trace of protein + 1 = 6, +2 = 58 , +3 = 1. The result of the analysis showed that the total urine protein rate with a frequency of hemodialysis was negatively correlated (r= 0,026; p= 0,84), also did not correlate with gender (r= -0,039; p= 0,756), comorbid (r= -0,038; p= 0,766), and age (r= 0,174; p= 0,166). The conclusion is that there is no correlation between total urine protein levels and the frequency of hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.
