Abstract

Cardiovascular disease was still a global threat and give a major role as the number one cause of death in the world. Patients with CVDs should take the medication regularly so that the availability of these drugs in health facilities must be maintained. And then, Cardiovascular drugs were the highest usage costs during 2019, which is around Rp. 6,924,415,718.20 (22.62%) so that it requires special attention to control the inventory. The object of this research was to determine the implementation of cardiovascular drug inventory control using ABC-EOQ-ROP-SS method to minimize the stock inventory, while maintaining the service level. This research used a non-experimental comparative method with retrospective cardiovascular drug data collection in 2019. Data obtained through the documentation of the Pharmacy Installation section and the logistics section. The data were analyzed to determine the cost efficiency of cardiovascular drugs using the ABC-EOQ-ROP-SS method compared to actual data for drug orders in January-December 2019 .The results of ABC-EOQ-ROP-SS methods in controlling cardiovascular drugs can be implemented by the Jakarta Islamic Hospital to minimize stock inventory, while maintaining the service level and can increase the total cost efficiency up to 17,91% of the actual order .

Abstract

Patient safety incidents are increasing and can result in death. Hospitals are required to provide quality and safe service. Thus, making policies to improve the quality of patient safety based on evidence is very important. This study aimed to determine the relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses. The design of this research was a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 56 nurses in the Inpatient Room of a hospital in Temanggung Regency. The data was collected through a work design questionnaire instrument and digital instrument/ calculators obtained through observation. Then, the data were analyzed by the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses (p = 0.000). Nurses who had a good perception of work design were found to carry out patient safety well. It is suggested that the hospital management needs to support the implementation of patient safety through the work design of the head of the room by compiling standard operational procedures. The head of the room needs to improve the implementation of work design so that all nurses can perform patient safety according to standards.

Abstract

COVID-19 (coronavirus2019) is a viral infection of concern globally. Based on data released by the National Disaster Management Agency in July 2020, there was a twenty-six COVID-19 hospital cluster. This study aimed to analyze determinant factors for hospital staff adherence to the use of personal protective equipment in the care of COVID-19 patients. This Study is observational research with a cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique with a total sample of 53 respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using linear regression statistical analysis. The result of the study illustrated that only 43.40% of the hospital staff were compliant to use PPE. The respondents have characteristics as follows: good knowledge (52.83%), good risk perception (50.94%), low barriers to implementation (71.70%), good safety climate (90.57%), and good information and training (94.34%). There were correlation between knowledge (p-value = 0.000, β = 0.880), risk perception (p-value = 0.000, β = 0.846), barriers to implementation (p-value = 0.000, β = 0.579), safety climate (p-value = 0.005, β = 0.646), information and training (p-value = 0.034, β = 0.620) with hospital staff using PPE.  Knowledge and risk perception has a very strong correlation with hospital staff adherence.

Motivation proactive can be generated by self efficacy and motivation internal. The purpose of this research was to analyze the ability of PM to stimulate JC behavior of hospital staff. This study was a cross sectional study. One hundred fifty five (155) staff was selected from 641 population in three (3) hospitals in Mamuju Regency. Data was analyzed by linear regression analysis. The research shows that  89 % of sample had good PM and based on profession, more medical doctors had good PM than nurses. The bivariate analysis of PM and JC found that the p. value was 0,000 less than ⍶-value 0,05. It means that statistically, PM influenced the JC. Proactive motivation affects job crafting by 16.2%.   When the hospital staff have high PM then the JC can be generated. The hospital manager should create working environment to foster  PM among staff.

It is qualitative research with an action research design. Participants in this study were 15 nurses from 5 inpatient rooms. Data were collected using an online Focus Group Discussion (FGD), using observation form, field notes, and quantitative assessments using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using content analysis and simple statistics. This study produced 4 models of the patients’ role that can be used in inpatient rooms and increase the nurses’ knowledge about the patients’ role in improving patient safety.  This study concludes that the model of patients’ role can be used as a reference in increasing the patients’ role and reducing the occurrence of adverse events when the patients are hospitalized so that patient safety can be achieved.
