Abstract

The equitable poverty reduction in North Sumatera became one of the unresolved issues until now. The decreasing of poverty percentage in the last five years in North Sumatera can not represent the level of public welfare. In fact , in 2013, there were 22 out of 33 districts in North Sumatera which have the poverty percentage more than ten percent and known as hardcore poverty. The highest poverty percentage was found in North Nias and Gunung Sitoli by 30.94 %, while the lowest was found in Deli Serdang by 4.71 %. This research stated the problem “How is the influence of the economic growth, level of education, and the minimum regional wages toward the level of poverty in North Sumatera Province? The objective is to analyze the influence of economic growth, the level of education and the minimum wages toward the poor population in North Sumatera Province. This research used 165 samples that spread in 33 districts in North Sumatera from 2009 until 2013 with panel data and using Fixed Effect Model Method.  The result of the Ordinary Least Square Method (LOS) through the multiple linear regretion estimated model showed that the economic growth and the minimum regional wages had negative influence, while the level of education had positive influence toward poverty in North Sumatera. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.948157 which means the variable of economic growth, minimum regional wages and level of education can define the poverty in North Sumatera by 94.82 %, and 5.18 % defined by other economic variables outside the model.

Abstract

Economic Growth in North Sumatera priod 2000 until 2012 shows the condition that increases continuously, but the increase did not have an impact on education, health. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the health infrastructure, education infrastructure and population to economic growth in the province of North Sumatra simultaneously and partially. The data used are secondary data from BPS in North Sumatra time series from 2000 till 2012. Data analysis was performed by using OLS (Ordinary Least Square) with a multiple linear regression models estimated with the help of the program Eviews 7. The results of this study showed that simultaneous variable health infrastructure, education infrastructure and population have a significant effect on economic growth in the province North Sumatra. While partially concluded that variable infrastructure and population health positive and significant effect; educational infrastructure but not significant positive effect on economic growth in the province of North Sumatra. The results of this study also showed that the most dominant variables to economic growth in the province of North Sumatra is the total population.

Abstract

The Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI) is an indicator that can be used by investors to know the movements of the sharia stock market. This research aims to analyze the effect of the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI) on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). The analysis uses equations by the method of Error Correction Model (ECM). This study analyzed the relationship between the dependent and independent variables in both the short term and long term. Estimation results show that in the long term and the short term, the variable amount of the inflation was a positif and significant in the short term but not significant in the long term affect the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI). The variable amount of the BI rate and exchange rate was a negative and significant in the short term but not significant in the long term affect the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI). These results show that inflation, BI rate and exchange rate was significant in the short term affect the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI) on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX).

Abstract

The results showed some conclusions: (i) in the long term that the variables of tourism foreign exchange and net exports positive and significant impact. Dummy variables and the exchange rate and no significant positive effect. (ii) in the short term that the variables of tourism foreign exchange and net exports positive and significant impact. And a dummy variable exchange rate and no significant positive effect. (iii) of the coefficient of determination (R2) showed that the variables studied could explain the long-term and short-term equal to 94.01 percent, while the remaining 5.99 percent is explained by variables out of models (which was not studied).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Program of Institutional Entrepreneur Community Tangan Di Atas (TDA) Against Increased Revenue Local Economy in Medan. The problem in this research is to see the extent to which the opportunities of independent variables such as entrepreneurship education, capital, selling price, the amount of labor, marketing through the exhibition of entrepreneurship of the dependent variable is the income of Small Enterprises assisted Institutional Tangan Di Atas (TDA) of Medan. The data used is primary data with the primary form of questionnaires to the small enterprises patronage of TDA Medan with observation period in 2013 s.d. 2015. While the methods of analysis used for primary data is Probit with analysis software program E Views 6 and secondary data obtained on a general overview of the small enterprises patronage of TDA Medan and the results of the study of literature (Library Research) to support his theories relevant to the research. From the results of this study indicate that there is a positive correlation and significant between entrepreneurship education, capital, selling price, the amount of labor and marketing aspects through the exhibition of entrepreneurship opportunity of increased revenue Small Enterprises Patronage TDA Medan otherwise there is a positive relationship and not significant among the workforce to an increased chance the small enterprises patronage of  TDA revenue Medan. TDA Medan can be able to focus in increasing entrepreneurship education, marketing aspects through the exhibition of entrepreneurship, product selling prices, capital and to concentrate in the amount of labor professionally to get the result maximally  to an increased chance the small enterprises patronage of  TDA revenue Medan.

Abstract

Economic growth of North Sumatera Province is not quite on the top of optimum. If the compared by some of others province in Indonesia and by  all of his potention, the North Sumatera Province only on the 10th rank of economic growth in Indonesia in 2009-2013 period. The purpose of this study is toanalyze the economic sectors which are the basis in each district/city in North Sumatera province and to determine the structure of economic growth in the district /city both sectoral and aggregate the province of North Sumatera. Structural transformation to some extent will have an impact on overall economic growth. Analysis tools used in this study is Location Quetiont (LQ), Growth Ratio Model (MRP), overlay analysis, and shift share analysis. Results of this study showed that the agriculture sector is a sector which is the basis in nearly 13 districts/cities in North Sumatera Province. But the growth in agriculture, processing industries, mining and quarrying, and the electricity, gas & water supply sector likely slowed, otherwise all tertiary sectors which include: trade, hotels, and restaurants; transportation and communication, finance, leasing, and services company, and the services sector is likely to experience growth positive. Transportation and communication is a sector with the highest growth occurring in North Sumatera Province. Shift Share Analysis results showed that in the Province of North Sumatera is going structural transformation characterized by decreasing the role of the agricultural sector, and the increasing role of the service sector. This condition as well as contrary to the Kuznets theory which states that the process of structural transformation contribution marked by shifting agriculture to manufacturing and then to services sector.

Abstract
