Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of Blended Learning on the ability of Mathematical Representattion and Self efficacy. Populations of this study were all students of class VIII in one of SMP in Purwokerto at 2018. It was experimental study post test only disgn. The sampel were students of class VIII G as the experimental class and class VIII D as the control class. The average of post test result of the students’ mathematical representation ability reach 70,30 for the experimental class and 62,08 for the control class. After a hypothesis testing by using Man Whitney test was obtained significance value of 0,036. Due to the significance value was smaller, so H0 was rejected. It can be concluded that the mathematical representation of students using blended learning was higher than students using direct learning or the blended learning has an effect on mathematical representation. The average of questionnaireof result of the students’ efficacy ability reach 77,05 for the experimental class and 74,91 for the control class. After a hypothesis testing by using Man Whitney test was obtained significance value of 0,254. Due to the significance value was bigger, so H0 was accepted. It can be concluded that there was no difference between the students’ self efficacy by blended learning and direct learning or the blended learning has no effect on student’ efficacy.

Abstract

The study aims to find out pseudo-thinking in solving mathematical problems. The methods used in this study are qualitative descriptive. The research subject is junior high school students using the purposive sampling technique, the students are grouped into three ranks i.e. low, medium and high rankings which each ranked 3 students as respondents. The total number of respondents was 9 students. Data collection techniques using tests, interviews, and documentation. From the results of the study gained that: 1) students who are ranked low in solving mathematical problems are experiencing pseudo-analytic or pseudo-false, 2) students who are in the moderate level also experience pseudo-analytic or pseudo-incorrect, 3) students who are in high ranking experience pseudo-analytic and pseudo-4) students who experience pseudo-thinking choose procedures using their own reasoning and convince it as a correct understanding , so there is no attempt to re-examine what he has done

Abstract

This study aimed to describe students' analogical reasoning in SMP Negeri 1 Ajibarang viewed from personality types in the material of Three-Dimensional Shapes with Flat surfaces. Data subjects in this study were students of class VIII E and the sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. Students are grouped into three categories based on David Keirsey personality types namely rational, artisan, and guardian personality. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation. To analyze the research data descriptive qualitative research method which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion was used.  In addition, echnical triangulation test was employed as a validation test of the results.  The results indicated that, based on analogical reasoning ability, it was seen that rational students mastered all indicators of analogical reasoning ability, i.e. encoding, inferring, mapping, and applying. Students with artisan personality type mastered the encoding indicator only. And guardian students were able to master the encoding, inferring and applying indicator.

Abstract

The research aims to construct learning media for pop up books on cube and block materials that are suitable for use in junior high school students. This research is a development study using a modified 4-D model that is Define, Design, Develop and Deseminate from Thiagarajan. The subject of the material developed in this study was cube and beam class VIII material with a class VIII trial subject of SMPN 1 Sumbang. The results showed that the learning media pop up book was very valid (3.57) according to the validator, the teacher's response was very good (3.31) and student responses were good (3.29)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Group Investigation type cooperative learning on mathematical problem solving abilities and confidence of class VII students of Rembang 2 State Junior High School 2017/2018 school year. The population in this study were seventh grade students of Rembang 2 State Junior High School 2017/2018 school year. The sample in this study is class VII E as the Experiment class and VII C as the Control class which is taken by Cluster Random Sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is post test. Post test results were obtained after students in the experimental class followed Group Investigation cooperative learning and the control class followed direct learning. Post test results were processed using IBM SPSS Statistic 21 Software by performing the Mann Whitney test for post test results and Independent t Test tests on questionnaire results. The sig value obtained on the Mann Whitney test for post test results is 0.0355 and the sig value on the Independent t-test for the results of the questionnaire is 0.0075. So it can be concluded that students' mathematical problem solving and self-confidence abilities that follow Group Investigation type cooperative learning are better than mathematical problem solving abilities and confidence by using direct learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find: 1). Student's achievement in mathematics representation ability who followed the learning process using Think, Talk, Write strategy; 2).  Student's achievement in self-efficacy who followed the learning process using Think, Talk, Write strategy; 3). Whether a student's achievement in mathematics representation ability who followed the learning process using Think, Talk, Write strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process; 4). Whether a student self-efficacy who followed the learning process using Think, Talk, Write strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process. The population of this research is a whole of the 8thgrade students from Junior High Schools from Purbalingga. The sampling process is determined by a cluster random sampling technique so that the research can obtain the experiment class in which learning proses are using the TTW strategy with 71,81 rate, meanwhile, students who are following direct learning are around 62,94. Based on the student self-efficacy questionnaire who followed learning process with the TTW strategy are 74,37 rate, meanwhile students who are following direct learning are around 66,37. The data analysis using independent sample T-Test to test one right side. The result of the research shows that student's achievement in mathematics representation ability who followed the learning process using the TTW strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process. Student self-efficacy who followed the learning process using the TTW strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process.

Abstract

The research aimed to study the effect of Problem Based Learning towards the  student’s mathematical literacy skills. This research is an experimental research. The design of this research used post-test-only control design. The population of this research were the whole students on the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Bobotsari. Sampling in this research used cluster random sampling and obtained VII B grade as an experimental class and VII D grade as an control class. The data were collected using mathematical literacy skill test in the form of essay. The results of mathematical literacy skill test on experiment class showed that the average score was 77,81 and the average score on control class was 69,19. After testing the hypothesis was tested using independent sample t-test , a significance value of 0,0115 was obtained, with significance value or α = 0,05. It was concluded that Problem Based Learning was effective toward grade VII student’s mathematical literacy skill in SMP Negeri 1 Bobotsari.
