Abstract

Aflatoxin arehighly toxic, mutagenic, teratogenic and carcinogenic compounds that produced by species of the molds asapergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. Generally they are found in food products especially the cereals and oilseeds from the contaminated commodities during both in pre- and post harvest conditions of food production. Elimination or reduction of aflatoxins as low as possible are important in food trade concern. This paper discuss and reviews the occurrence of aflatoxin in foods commodity, methods for elimination of the toxin content by chemical, physical and biological methods and regulation of irreducible levels of aflatoxin in international trade.

Abstract

Study on the effects of agitating duration and the ratio of sulphuric acid on the preparation of sulphated shark oil as fat liquor had been carried out .the aimof the experiment was to introduce sulphuric acid that will be absorbed into the molecule chain of fatty acid cpmpletely and produced sulphated oil .the experiment was conducted in there variables of agitating duration (A) i.e:4,5 and 6 hours and the ration of sulphuric acid introduced and the ration of acid/oil was : agitationfor 6 hours and 40% of sulphuric acid ration or A3B3 combination .the sulphated oil has 96.77 lodine number saponification number 209.68 and 1.665 fixed S03 .the lower lodine number showed most double bond chain of the oil had been occupied by sulphate groups ,the higher saponification numbershowed the amout of sulphate group in the fatty oil chain ,the same as showed by the fixed S03 .it is concluded that agitating duration or mixing time and ratio sulphuric  acid to the shark liver oil to give significant effect on sulphated shark liver oil formed.

Abstract

This study was designed to analyze the effects of chitosa-formic addtition to retanning of leather and printing proces of textile .the type of leather used was boks leather and those for textile consist of polyester, polyacrylic, contton, and nylon. chitosan was extracted from shrimps and crab shells which produced from shrimp shells, crab shells, and mixture from those shell was then mixed with formic acid(3%) to produce chitosan-formic with the concentration of 7.5% for each treatment.in retaning leather ,chitosan-formic was used as filling agents meanwhile in printing textiles these was applied for the low quality leather and itsesults was compared with the leather without chitosan-formic addition in textiles printing chitosan-formic was printed with any kids dyestuff and materials such condition was applicable only when it usedas singles dyestuff meanwhile when it as applied with other auxiliaries chotosan-formic was not complatibe for the rest of destuff and textilles material.

Abstract

There are many useful of aloe vera plant such as traditional medicine, cosmetics, foods and beverage industry .the study of aloe vera in syrup production has been conducted. time of steaming process (a)and sugar adding (b) were used as factor treatment .the variation of those factors was 5minutes (a1),10 minutes (a2) and 15 minutes (a3) for time of steaming proces while 20% (b1),25%(b2)and 30%(b3) of sugar adding .the result of panel test showed that the best treatment which had the highest score in taste (600),appearance (642) and elasticity (6.20) was a2b2 treatment product, which conducted on 10 minutes steaming process and 25% of sugar adding .the product was analyzed in accordance contaminat, presrvative agent, total plate count (TPC)colifrom and mould after 12 weeks storage ,the product in ambient as well as in cooling temperature still met SNI of product in syrup.the result of techno-economic showed that the small industry of 1000-1500 cup per day capasity was feasible financially with pay back period in 3-4 years.
