Abstract

Background: The fishing industry is a business activity related to the capture, cultivation, processing, storage, distribution, and marketing of fishery products. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing health education about PHBS in changing the behavior of disposing of fish waste in Doropayung Juwana Village.Method: This study is a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests, but without a control group. The population in this study was local people who process fish in the Doropayung Juwana Village Area. The sampling technique was a total sampling of 45 respondents. Behavior measurement used a questionnaire and an extension of SAP. Data processing used the statistical paired sample t-test. Abstract

Background: Breast milk (ASI) production and maternal stress are two interrelated factors that influence the postpartum period. This study aimed to examine the correlation between aromatherapy massage using lavender essential oil and breast milk production as well as stress levels among postpartum mothers. Objective: This quasi-experimental study employed a pretest-posttest control group design involving 30 postpartum mothers in Siti Hajar Ward at Sultan Hadlirin Islamic Hospital Jepara. Methods: The sample was divided into an intervention group, which received aromatherapy massage with lavender essential oil for three consecutive days, and a control group. Data were collected using a breastfeeding observation sheet and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Results: The results showed that 80% of mothers in the intervention group experienced increased breast milk production and reduced stress levels, while only 40% of mothers in the control group reported increased breast milk production. Chi-Square test results indicated a significant correlation between aromatherapy massage and improvements in both outcomes (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Conclusion Aromatherapy massage with lavender essential oil is effective in enhancing breast milk production and reducing stress, making it a potential complementary therapy in maternal health care.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a condition characterized by chronic respiratory symptoms, including shortness of breath and cough, decreased Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF), caused by airway obstruction. Interventions such as Pursed Lip Breathing and orthopnea positioning can potentially improve PEF in COPD patients. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of Pursed Lip Breathing and orthopnea position on increasing PEF in COPD patients at Kartini Karanganyar Hospital. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 64 COPD patients who were divided into two groups: the intervention group who received Pursed Lip Breathing and orthopnea position every morning for 5 minutes for 3 days, and the control group who only received the intervention according to hospital standards. PEF measurements were taken before and after the intervention using a Peak Flow Meter. Results: The results showed that the combination of the two interventions had a significant effect on increasing the patient's PEF indicating an improvement in respiratory function (p=0.00). Conclusion: Pursed Lip Breathing and orthopnea positioning are effective in improving PEF in COPD patients, so it can be recommended as part of respiratory care.

Abstract

Background: The increasing number of elderly in Indonesia has an impact on the increasing  prevalence of chronic diseases, especially hypertension and diabetes mellitus, which has implications for reducing Quality of Life. The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) organized by BPJS Kesehatan aims to maintain the health condition of participants to avoid complications and improve Quality of Life. Objective: This study aims to determine the description of Quality of Life of Prolanis participants at the Kutawis Community Health Center, Purbalingga. Method: This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was 49 respondents from 93 Prolanis participants selected using an accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire that assesses quality of life in four domains, namely physical, psychological, social, and environmental. Results: The results showed that the quality of life of Prolanis participants was generally in the moderate category (49%). Based on the domain, most respondents had a moderate quality of life category, namely physical (75.5%), psychological (85.7%), social (71.4%), and environmental (83.7%). Conclusion: It can be concluded that the quality of life of Prolanis participants at the Kutawis Community Health Center in Purbalingga is mostly in the moderate category across all four domains.
