However, there are several alternatives also to reduce the movement of intolerance and radicalism of youth. Religious movements that come from mass organizations such as Muhammadiyah and NU can be expected to reduce it. Abstract

The Burgeoning of the Islamic Movements in Indonesia –especially originated from the Middle East- that growing up since authoritarian era have been influencing various institutions in Indonesia, including educational institution in Ex Karesidenan Surakarta region. In this research, I exhibit that Ex-Karesidenan Surakarta region has become a centre of Islamic movement turbulence in Indonesia. Since pre-Independence era, various Islamic ideologies actualize and compete with each other –from traditionalist, modernist, and radical movement- for gaining influence in these regions. This research discusses the implication of contestation among Islamic ideologies in Senior High School that affect the scramble of educational public sphere and interchange cultural symbols in these institutions. This paper attempts to address two main issues; 1) to examine various contestation and hegemony models performed by each of Islamic ideologies for gaining  influence in the public educational sphere –epecially Kerohanian Islam (ROHIS); 2) to explore various political ideologies in each Islamic movement that led to different meanings towards Islam, state, and democracy.

Abstract

This article deals with relation between music and radicalism. In fact, religion and politics are more related with radicalism. In art perspective, visual art was more related with radicalism rather than music position—especially in Indonesia. In Indonesia music had minor relation with radicalism. According this fact, i would like to explore about music with radicalism with link with several songs, genres, and moda of production—especially relate with definition of radicalisme was rooted movement. The result that i got so far is songs, genres, and mode of production relate with counter-culture. Through counter-culture, radicalism movement that used by music can be running with a different portion, inter alia: change old system to new system, and deal with daily activity as a counter. This result made me more brightly to articulate that pathern and logic of radicalism not only about practical measured, but relate with ideology things.
