Abstract

Historic buildings that have a colonial style can become an element of tourism development in Pasuruan, including the uniqueness of the local character can be enjoyed as the memories of the past as a tourist attraction. Based on the current conditions, it is necessary to conduct a research related to the directions for the preservation of St. Anthony Padova Church as a Culture Heritage and precisely to maintain the identity and characteristic of the building. Therefore, this study aims to formulate efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the building, which has historical value as a tourist attraction destination. St. Anthony Padova Church has the potential and deserves to be utilized as one of tourism destination. Utilization of the Cultural Heritage Building of the Church of St. Antonius Padova as a tourist attraction must be directed to the superiority and uniqueness of the building

Abstract

This research is aimed at examining the potential of Balinese oral literature in strengthening traditional values ??in the context of national development, especially in for Human Resources. The data collection method was carried out by tracking oral texts in several lontar texts and printed texts in the form of books in libraries. Qualitative data about sesapan is 'dissected' using hermeneutic theory. Data were analyzed using descriptive analytical methods assisted by inductive techniques. Data presentation is carried out using informal methods using description techniques. The research shows that the text of Sesapan has religious value for preserving the environment, asking for safety, and taming domestic animals. Maintaining a good environment will ensure the life of creatures on earth. People use sesapan texts when they use things in nature, such as when cutting down trees, carrying out activities in certain places that are considered haunted, when an earthquake occurs, and so on.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the racism issue and character discrimination portrayed in a short story entitled "The Beautiful Thing" by Kit De Waal. The short story was chosen as the primary data source since it illustrated fairly how the racism issue occurred with black immigrants in England. The data was obtained using the documentation method and a note-taking technique. The note-taking technique used to find a result in the form of sentences and phrases quotations from the short story. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by referring to six basic tenets of critical race theory proposed by Delgado and Stefancic (2001). This study was merely focused on linking the storyline which presents a racism issue with six basic tenets of critical race theory. The analysis showed that the short story presented a comprehensive illustration of racism that occurred specifically to black people in America. The racism encountered including verbal abuse and racial discrimination.
