Abstract

Village can become an arena for strengthening democracy because national and regional and even village political agendas all lead to the village political arena. However, democracy in villages is also often haunted by the practice of money politics. Responding to the phenomenon of money politics in society and effort to strengthen democracy at the village level, Bawaslu of the Republic of Indonesia is implementing the Anti-Money Politics (APU) Village program as a preemptive and preventive measure. This research aims to examine further efforts to strengthen village democracy during the pandemic by identifying and evaluating the APU Village Program in Indonesia. This research also uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques, namely interviews, focus group discussions, and expert meetings. This research undertook in four provinces—West Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, and North Kalimantan—were the sites of the research. According to the study's findings, Bawaslu lacks a vision, a roadmap, a specific budget, indications for towns deserving of becoming APU towns, and collaboration in the planning of APU Villages. From an institutional standpoint, Bawaslu is now lacking in a framework, a thorough assessment, local actors, and instructional materials. Bawaslu has not developed human resources, conducted extensive training, evaluated the comprehension of village actors, or established an APU Village volunteer team in the area of human resources.

Abstract

In connection with the decision of the Constitutional Court Number 137/PUU-XIII/2015, this study examined the cancellation of regional regulations reviewed in Indonesia's constitutional system. The research method is normative legal research, or looking at the laws and regulations that are in effect. This study also collects legal materials using the library method, which are presented qualitatively and descriptively. This study will demonstrate the connection between the cancellation of regional regulations and the authority and position of the Minister of Home Affairs as assistant to the president in the Indonesian constitutional system. The regional regulation was scrapped because it was thought to make it harder to make investments in Indonesia. The Republic of Indonesia's central government has the authority to oversee the administration of regional governments, overseeing every regional regulation and regional head regulation. Be that as it may, after the choice of the Protected Court, the Clergyman and lead representative as delegates of the focal government never again have the position to drop a territorial guideline. In conclusion, this study reveals that the governor and the Ministry of Home Affairs can only cancel regional regulations that conflict with higher regulations, are not in line with interests, or violate moral norms in general through the process of testing regional regulations before they are enacted (executive). preview). This is different from the situation before the Constitutional Court's decision, when the Minister of Home Affairs and the Governor still held authority.

Abstract

This research analyzes human impartiality towards the single rationality of human ethics or cosmopolitanism in accepting racial, cultural, ethnic, and religious differences that have existed since the earth was created. The impartiality of the single value of human ethics takes Donald Trump's administration as the case study. After being elected as US President, Donald Trump followed the voice of his voters in determining the policies, especially regarding immigrants. Immigrants assessed undermine the country's economy and damage the social order of the local community. It resulted in a national political map that rejects the single rationality of ethical value of humanity, known as populism. Qualitative research methods are used by conducting in-depth research based on existing literature studies, including books used explicitly for theory development, journals to develop data, and media reports to analyze world leaders' responses towards Donald Trump's policies. Constructivism employs to analyze the case. The result was the rejection of the values of cosmopolitanism because of the community's disappointment with the government that offered jobs to strangers, especially immigrants without adequate skills, so the local community felt that their rights were being taken away and sacrificed under the pretext of justice. This assumption arose because people assumed their economic resources and welfare, such as job vacancies and social assistance provided by the state, absolutely belonged to them. This rejection then advocated to become an anti-immigrant issue, an act of rejection of differences in social identity that considers immigrants to be damaging to the economy, social stability and causing political turmoil that offends human identity. Trump used these community anxieties to win the 2017 US elections by using the political slogan Make America Great Again.

Abstract

This paper intends to reflect philosophically as well as to promote the need for a peaceful politics in resolving the conflict of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. This elaboration is reviewed based on Wahid's words and political legacy. The methodology used is the analysis of the text through critical reading that listens to the understanding and concept of peaceful politics according to the spark of Wahid's thought. The author assumes that the prolonged conflict that occurs in Papua, namely the conflict stirred up by the KKB, is one of the biggest threats to the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. The Indonesian government's decision to upgrade the KKB's status as a terrorist group presupposes the deployment of security forces to hunt down KKB members. However, this has not been the right solution, because in fact the conflict continues to this day. Therefore, the government needs to promote appropriate and relevant solutions so that the disintegration of the nation does not occur. The author finds that humanism and Wahid's ideas about the politics of peace that adhere to the principles of equality and liberation can stem various social and political problems, especially the escalation of conflict in Papua.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the relationship between actors to find the political aspects of halal tourism policies that are a trend in local government policies in Indonesia today. This article uses the Advocacy Coalition Framework (ACF) approach to analyze the position of each policy actor in the formulation of policies on halal tourism in the Maros Regency. The research method uses descriptive qualitative analysis by describing the relationship of policy actors both formally and informally in the formulation of the Draft Regional Regulation on Halal Tourism in the Maros Regency and seeing the interactions that influence the policy process. The results showed that the actors involved in halal tourism policy were divided into two groups: state actors and non-state actors. These policy actors interact with each other, involving different interests. However, the tendency that occurs leads to dependence on state actors. The interaction of these actors results in a coalition of pros and cons, which could weaken the implementation of halal tourism policies. This article contributes to expanding insights in the study of interactions between policy actors involving different interests in halal tourism policy in Indonesia.
