Abstract

This research is conducted to detect cigarette smoke based on a microcontroller usingMQ-2 sensor equipped with an exhaust fan. This system has three status namely good smokelevel, moderate smoke level and unhealthy smoke level. The concentration of smoke detectedcan be monitored by a smartphone, in which the system will send a message via telegramwhen the room is detected by cigarette smoke. Based on the research that has been done, thesystem made has been able to send the smoke concentration data to telegram, the detectedsmoke concentration level and turn on the buzzer and the DC Fan when the smokeconcentration status is in moderate level around 100 - 400 ppm and in unhealthy level around> 400 ppm. Furthermore, it has been also able to send the comparison of energyconsumption, when both of the fans are off, the energy consumption is 2.42 Wh, and whenboth of the fans are on, then the energy consumption is 9.44 Wh.

Abstract

Crossflow turbine is a type of turbine that often used as a prime mover in MHP system. thistype of turbine has an advantage witch can be applied in low head with high water discharge. Theoutput power from this turbine is effected by the number of blades that installed on the tubine runner.The aim of this study is to hold an experimental study of the number of blade that used on crossflowturbine to get the maximum output power. The number of blade that used is 10, 14, 18, 22, and 26blades. Where from the result of calculations, it is found that turbine with number of blades 18 hasthe higest efficiency with a value of 8,52%.

Abstract

The type of load contained in the electrical system at Bali National Golf Resort is a nonlinier load. on-linear loads, it can cause harmonics and make a decrease in quality of electricpower. Harmonics can be bad impact for the sinusoidal shape of current and voltage waves andthen making the electrical system abnormal. To reduce harmonics we need the addition of anactive filter. This research will focus on simulating the use of Fuzzy Logic Controller on activefilters to reduce harmonics. The simulation is done using MATLAB R2013 software. As theresults, The usage of Fuzzy Logic Controller on active filter are able to reduce the harmonicswhere the current and voltage harmonic values fall, average to 0,86% and 0,11%.

Abstract

Heating System, Ventilanting and Air Conditioning (HVAC) or air conditioning systemsbecome one of the needs in high rise buildings in order to increase comfort in the room,differences in the level of comfort of each individual makes the HVAC system changes in loadpatterns that can result in wasteful use of electrical energy. This study aims to determine thesavings in the use of electrical energy with the use of DDC in the HVAC system at the Langhamhotel. DDC can regulate HVAC system supporting devices such as cooling towers, condenserwater pumps, chilled water pumps and chillers that aim to reduce the performance of the chillersso that energy savings are obtained. By using 2 work operation methods, the results of thecalculation of energy use obtained at the side of the chiller Langham hotel, with manualoperation without the use of DDC obtained a total consumption cost of IDR 3,409,290 andautomatic work operations using DDC obtained a total consumption cost of IDR 2,601,990 sothat it is obtained saving percentage of 24%.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build an early warning system device of volcanoactivity hazards based on Arduino microcontroller that can monitor changes in temperature, soilmoisture and tremor through sensors placed in the environment around the crater. This earlywarning system of volcano activity hazards is relatively simple but can be very useful to helpgovernment institutions and also the public which will reduce the risk of data collection directlyand also speed up the public to get information so that they can avoid the radius of danger. Theearly warning system of volcano activity hazards is also flexible with wifi coverage areas thatrange more than 100 meters. Based on research and test that has been done shows that thesystem created has a good effectiveness and flexibility which is able to send monitoring resultsto the ThingSpeak and then display it on a smartphone application in realtime.

Abstract

The need for electricity that is growing rapidly on the island of Bali, makes PT PLN (Persero)seek strategic steps in serving customers. Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari Reconductoring SUTT150 kV is one of the efforts made by PT PLN (Persero) to improve the reliability of the BaliElectricity System which is used to overcome power evacuation problems in the future.Reconductoring goes through a one-month trip phase in each circuit. For this reason, a study isneeded to identify the electricity system readiness by using a power flow analysis simulatorapplication.The simulation is done by extinguishing each of the 150 kV conductors in the BaliElectricity System alternately by taking into account four scenario namely before conducting areconductor, reconductor circuit 1, reconductor circuit 2, and after reconductor. Voltagerecording is carried out on each bus with a tolerance of + 5% Vnom, recording of the load iscarried out on each active 150 kV conductor with a maximum capacity of 80% Inom. The resultsof the simulation show that the anomaly is only obtained when the simulation of circuit 1reconductor works if SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Celukan Onion trip, causing a load exceeding80% Inom on SUTT 150 kV Gilimanuk - Pemaron and SUTT Gilimanuk - Negara - Antosari 2.

Abstract

The transformer is the main equipment that is very important at the substation.However, sometimes there can be damage to the transformer used. Damage to the transformerwill be able to disrupt the distribution of electricity, so it must get the right security, determiningthe right relay setting is an attempt to protect equipment, system security and consumer needsfrom possible disruption in the distribution system. In some roles, efforts to protect the powertransformer if there is a short circuit between phase and phase to the ground, then this study willstudy the coordination of the security system of power transformers in Padang Sambian mainsubstation. The results of the calculation of overcurrent relay (OCR) on the 150KV transformerthat has been done is obtained the results of the CT primary side current setting of 254.1 A andfor the secondary side of 3.178 A. For the actual working time of the relay is 0.91 seconds, if thecurrent exceeds value of this setting there will be a trip. The results of the calculation ofovercurrent relay (OCR) on the 20KV transformer that has been done is obtained the results ofthe CT primary side current setting of 1905 A and for the secondary side is obtained for 4.76 A.For the actual working time relay result is 3.69 seconds, if the current exceeds the value of thissetting there will be a trip.

Abstract

In this study aims to analyze the use of Community radio frequency (Rakom) in Denpasar and byanalyzing the number of channels allocated frequency and the amount of authorized community radioauthorization in the city of Denpasar. It is hoped that the study is expected to give an overview of howavailability community radio channels in Denpasar City area. To be able to avoid interference in theservice area on radio community broadcasts in the city of Denpasar. Conducted analysis andsimulation of mapping of new LPK Radio services (community broadcasting institutions). Themeasured parameters include the calculation of the Budget link and the measurement results obtainedin the field which is then compared with the theory. Based on the results of simulated analysismapping and calculations used, in the area of Denpasar city there can only be 2 (two) radiocommunities.

Abstract

The Saba feeder is one of the feeders located in the PLN working area of the East Bali Area,which is located around the villages of Saba, Blahbatuh and Blangsinga in the district of Gianyar.This feeder has 75 transformers with a capacity of 25-500 kVA that are connected by SUTM,SKUTM, MVTIC and ground cable lines. The reliability of the system in the Saba Feeder in thecondition before being reconfigured, with a SAIFI value of 3.02 interruptions in one year, the SAIDIvalue is 9.28 hours per year, while for the CAIDI value is 3.24 hours per one time, which is notcaused by maintenance. PT. PLN Persero regulated in SPLN No. 59 of 1985 and the target of PT.PLN PERSERO to achieve WCC or World Class Company standards, namely the value of SAIFI 3times interruption in one year, SAIDI 3 hours of interruption in one year and CAIDI value of amaximum of 3 hours of non-availability of electricity to customers. So the value of SAIFI PenyabaSaba before reconfiguration is in accordance with PLN standards, while the value of SAIDI andCAIDI Penyaba Saba conditions before reconfiguration is still outside the PLN standard to achieveWCC. Therefore, a network reconfiguration was done to improve the SAIDI and CAIDI values in theSaba Feeder to conform to SPLN No.59 of 1985. After the network reconfiguration of the Sabafeeder, changes in the SAIFI value, SAIDI and CAIDI on the Saba Feeder could improve, with theSAIFI value namely 2.73 disturbances per year, SAIDI value of 2.98 hours per year and CAIDIvalue of 1.08 hours per customer, so the reliability value in the Saba Feeder can be said to bereliable because it is in accordance with SPLN No. 59 of 1985.

Abstract

One of the uses of water resources can be done through the Regional Water Company(PDAM). Equipment needed in a water supply system that uses wells as a source of waterinclude well pumps, booster pumps, and pump control systems so that the pumps can workeffectively and efficiently. The Operation and Maintenance Section is still using a manualsystem in carrying out its duties by coming to the location and immediately conducting aninspection. This study designed a pump automation system with Aplus Massenger picobox toolusing an SMS service. The pump automation system consists of a series of microcontrollers,GSM modules, RTC modules, and electric current sensors. SMS information on the value of theload current at the distribution substation is sent by the pump automation system according tothe sensor reading information and the time information set on the system. The load currentnotification system can provide an SMS warning of a disturbance of the load current at thedistribution substation. This pump automation system is carried out in the Treatment Room ofthe Water Treatment Pump Distribution Unit in the Denpasar City PDAM, with the result of anSMS reply in the form of "load current: 30-10-2019” is R = 64 Amperes, S = 63 Amperes, T = 64Amperes to receive the information about the value of the load at the distribution substation.
