Abstract

PEMBUATAN MATERIAL FERITIK BARU UNTUK BAHAN PENUKAR PANAS. Telahdilakukan pembuatan bahan feritik baru yang dinamakan dengan F-l sebagai bahan studi untuk bahanpenukar panas reaktor daya. Pembuatan bahan paduan ini dilakukan dengan teknik metallurgi serbuk.Komponen unsur-unsur paduannya adalah Fe, Cr, Si, Mn, C, dan Ti. Masing-masing komponen bahanditentukan persen beratnya dan ditimbang kemudian dicampur dan diaduk dengan ball milling selama 46 jam.Sampel yang dibuat berupa pelet dan setiap sampel terdiri dari campuran serbuk tersebut diatas dengan massa5 gram dan dikompaksi dengan die berukuran diameter dalam 1,5 cm, dengan tekanan sekitar 8000 psi.Masing-masing sampel ditimbang dan diukur dimensinya dan dihitung massa jenisnya sebelum disinter.Kemudian sampel disinter pada temperatur sekitar 1200°C selama 2 jam. Setelah proses sinter massa sampelditimbang dan diukur ulang dimensinya untuk mengukur ulang rapat massanya; hasilnya adalah sekitar7,9 gr cm"3. Sedangkan bilangan kekerasan mikro Vickers rata-ratanya berada dalam kisaran 160-165. Polaintensitas difraksi sinar-X menunjukkan bahwa sampel yang dibuat memiliki struktur kristal bcc, sesuaidengan tipe fasa feritik. Sedangkan butir fasa terbanyak berbentuk serpihan kecil dan sebagian butir jugaberbentuk dendritik. Dari nilai-nilai kerapatan maupun kekerasan mikro Vickers yang berada disekitar nilaidari bahan SS-405 dan SS-430, maka bahan feritik baru ini diharapkan memiliki prospek yang baik sebagaibahan alternatif yang masuk dalam kelompok bahan grade kelas II {nonhardenable).

Abstract

The cooling system of MTR GA. Siwahessy consists ofprimary cooling system and secondary coolingsystem which are equiped with several i. e.pumps are primary pump and secondary pump. The pumps are veryimportancefor supporting reactor operation. The reactor has beenoperatedmore than 27,000 hours since thefirst time operation on 1987, so theperformance primary pump need to be evaluated. The evaluation is basedonmeasurement results inthefield. The evaluation results ofpump performance ispresented bycharacteristiccurve consisting of: head, efficiency and pump power as the junction of flow rate capacity. The primarycooling pump characteristics after 27,000 hours in operation show that by increasing of head andpumppower, the power supply is still able overcome and still under its specified value i.e. 160kW. The deviation ofhead, pump power and efficiency compared the commissioning condition is less than 10 %. so the primarvpumpperformance is still good.

Abstract

Tofulfill the demandofhigher toughnessand hardness, a chemical composition modification is madeto SKD-ll. and the modification result is known as SKD-l I Mod. Since the modification is done at thechemical composition then automatically it will change everything, including the heat treatment process andresult. This research, first ofall. is conducted in view ofthe modification factors, whilst, at the same time toexamine whether the producers specification can be achieved.

Abstract

The mechanical properties ofsteel billets, slabs orblooms are controlled by the chemical compositionand by the treatment and/or mechanical treatment to which the steel is submitted. However, structuraldefects, such as non-metallic inclusions, are also responsible for theperformance ofthis material when it issubmitted to mechanical stress. The problem in clean steel manufacture is to reduce the overall numbers ofinclusions andtheir size distribution. By controlling the amount, distribution, size andchemical compositionofnon-metallic inclusions, it is possible to get clean steel with good quality. The identification ofthe natureand the control of inclusionformation inliquid steel are very importantfor steelcleans. The main purpose ofladlefurnacetreatment is to ensure that themolten steel has therequired temperature when theladle is takenover at downstream secondary metallurgy units or at a continuous caster. Besides the temperature of themelt, thesteel analysis is also calculated on-line, basedon the influences ofalloying element additions anddesulphurisation. Minimization of the number of solid silicate inclusions must take place after deoxidantaddition andbefore pouring into the CCM. A ladle furnace is used to relieve the primary melter of mostsecondary refining operations, and its primaryfunctions are "reheating of liquid steel through electric powerconducted by graphite electrodes., homogenization of liquid steel temperature and chemistry through inertgas stirring, andformation of a slag layer that protects refractory from arc damage, consentrates andtransfers heat to the liquid steel, trap non-metallic and metallic inclusions, and provide the means fordesulphurization ". Normal stirring operatios are performed by percolating argon gas through a purge plugarrangement in the bottom of the ladle. In this present work, a study of chemical composition, the solidsilicate inclusions has been carried out in 1041.84 ton liquid low carbon steel Grade 1015 collected insteelplant, duringthestages ofsecondaryrefinement ofsuchsteel.
