Abstract

This research has purpose to study the influence of giving cellulotic bacteria culture through drinking water as probiotic source to carcass physical composition of Balinese duck aged 8 weeks. Ducks that are used in this research were 54 Balinese ducks aged 1 day. Design used in this research is the Complete Random Design (CRD) with three treatments and six times of repetition. The three treatments are the ducks given drinking water without supplementation of cellulotic bacteria culture as control (A); drinking water with 0,20% cellulotic bacteria culture (B); and drinking water with 0,40% cellulotic bacteria culture (C). Variables that are observed are the percentage of carcass meat, percentage of carcass bone, percentage of carcass fat, and protein consumption. Research result shows that the giving of cellulotic bacteria culture as probiotic source at level of 0,20%-0,40% through drinking water shows the percentage of carcass meat at treatment (B) and (C) is significant (P0,05) which is higher than control (A), the percentage of subcutan fat including skin at treatment (B) and (C) shows significant result (P0,05) lower than control (A). From this research it can be concluded that the influence of giving cellulotic bacteria culture of buffalo rumen isolate as probiotic source through drinking water given at level of 0,20%-0,40% can increase the percentage of carcass meat and reducing the percentage of carcass fat of Balinese ducks aged 8 weeks.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content of heavy metals in bali cattle grazing extensively in the landfill area and semi-intensive outside TPA. The research was conducted in slaughter house traditional as well in Analytical Laboratory Udayana University for two months. The experiment was conducted using a test T-test which two samples were repeated six times. The results showed that the amount content of plumbum, cadmium and cuprum on beef from the landfill quantitatively greater than the beef that comes from outside the landfill 1.559 mg / kg: 1.458 mg / kg, 1.363 mg / kg: 1.358 mg / kg and 1,515 mg / kg: 1.408 mg / kg but in statistics results was not significant (P> 0.05). Based on the results of the study concluded that the system of raising animals do not affect the content of heavy metals in bali cattle, meat from the landfill quantitatively higher than outside the landfill and still be below the threshold recommended by BPOM so it is still suitable for consumption

Abstract

The use of probiotics in the ration can increase the activity of enzymes and absorb of feed nutrient. Probiotics is a feed additive that can be given in ration or drinking water in the form of microorganisms that can live in the digestive tract, in symbiosis with the existing micro-organisms, is particularly useful and able to promote growth as well as the feed efficiency without undergoing the process of absorb. Based on the above, this study aimed to determine the effect of buffalo rumen cellulolytic bacteria in drinking water as a source of probiotics on the carcass weight of the 8-week aged Bali ducks. This research was conducted at Dajan Peken Village of Tabanan, Bali. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. The variables measured were the slaughter weight, the carcass weight, the carcass percentage, consumption of rations and drinking water consumption. The three treatments namely: drinking water without cellulolytic bacteria as the control (A)  drinking water of 0.20% cellulolytic bacterial culture (B), and drinking water of 0.40% cellulolytic bacterial culture (C). The results showed that the administration of bacterial culture of cellulolytic of 0.20% and 0.40% through drinking water significantly (P <0.05) could increase the slaughter weight, the carcass weight, and the carcass percentage. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the administration of probiotic bacteria isolates of cellulolytic buffalo rumen through drinking water at the level of 0.20% and 0.40% could increase the carcass of the 8 week aged Bali ducks.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the farmer income, costs structure, R/C Ratio, and the breakeven point of the crickets production. the research was conducted in Padli’s farm at the Pondok Indah 1 road no. 9X, Denpasar city. This research has been carried out since january 2016 to april 2016. Primary data were used in this study than collected by interview and observation. Cost structure, income, R/C Ratio and break even were determined by quantitative methode. This study has shown that acceptance of farming crickets Rp. 6.300.000 and the cost  of cultivation of crickets farm consist of investment costs and operating costs. The cost of investment for growing of 1.200 gram scale of crickets egg were Rp.3.450.000,-. Total operating expenses amounted to Rp. 2.411.500 consists of fixed costs of 43,81 % and variabel costs of 56,19 %. Farmer income derived from this farm is Rp.3.888.500,- per period, R/C ratio of these farm is about to 2,61. Break even point is reached when the crickets selling price Rp.11.483,33,- per kg, or when the farm produce of crickets about 44,86 kg/period. Management of livestock farming cricket are good enough that involves several aspects, among other: feed management and pest and disease management.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the growth and production of Indigofera zollingeriana at various dosages of bioslurry fertilizer was conducted for 10 weeks at Research Station Faculty of Animal Husbandry Udayana University at Pengotan Village, Bangli Districts, Bangli regency. The study used randomized block design (RBD) with four doses of offering bioslurry fertilizer as treatments: D0: without bioslurry fertilizer, D5: 5 ton/ha, D10: 10 ton/ha and D15: 15 ton/ha. The four treatments ware devided in four blocks as replicate, so there ware 16 plots as an experiment unit. Variables observed ware growth, production and characteristics. Result of the study showed that the offering of bioslurry fertilizer could increase the growth of Indigofera zollingeriana and tends to increase it production. Dose 5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, and 15 ton/ha increase the number of branches and number of leaves compared to control.  Dose bioslurry 5 ton/ha results leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, total dry weight of forage and leaf area tended (P>0.05) was higher than other treatments. Based on the results of the study it concluded that the bioslurry fertilizer could increase growth Indigofera zollingeriana. Dose 5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, and 15 ton/ha were increase the number of branches and number of leaves compared to control, and production of the most well Indigofera zollingeriana produced on the treatment of bio-slurry 5 ton/ha.

Abstract

The research has been carried out to evaluating the growth of bali drake aged two until eight weeks given ration supplemented with biosupplement containing preeminent cellulolytic bacteria isolated from termitesin Peguyangan Kaja Village, Denpasar Utara Subdistrict, Denpasar for twelve weeks. Bacteria isolates used in this research were first and second preeminent probiotic cellulolytic bacteria isolated from termites with coded BR3.3 and BR3.5. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted five treatments and three replicates were enployed. The fisrt treatment was basal ration without supplemented (RS0), while the other treatments were ration supplemented biosupplement without termites preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio0), Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing termites first preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio1), Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing termites second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio2), and Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing first and second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria from termites (RSBio1-2). The observed variables in the research were commencing body weight, final body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR). The result showed that baliness duck given ration supplementated with biosupplement containingtermites first or seconds preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio1 and RSBio2) can increasing (P0,05). While for feed consumption, all treatments has not significant different (P>0,05). It was concluded that baliness duck given ration supplemented with biosupplemented containing first or second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria from termites can increasing final body weight, body weight gain, and efficiency of feed usage with relative same for feed consumption.
