Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect  of using superior termites bacteria biosupplement in ration on the internal organ of bali drakes up to 12 weeks of age. this experiment used of 75 birds with homogenuous body weight ( 223,8 ± 11,19 g). The experimental design used in this study was complettely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3  replicated those of  RB, RBio0, RBio1, RBio2, RBio1-2 treatments were duck fed basal ration, fed basal ration with biosupplement without superior termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing superior 1 termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing superior 2 termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing combination superior 1 and 2 termites bacteria respectively. The variables were observed were the heart weight, liver weight, bile weight and spleen weight. The results of this study showed that fed biosupplement containing combination superior for variable of heart weight, liver weight, bile and spleen weight, fed biosupplement superior bacteria termites in basal ration were not significant different (P>0,05).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the water content suitable for plant growth and forage plant Indigofera zollingerianaproduction. The research was carried out for 15 weeks in Greenhouse Research Station Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Udayana University, Jalan Raya Sesetan, GangMarkisa Denpasar. Abstract

This research aimed to assess the weight of female balinese duck twelve weeks commercial carcass pieces that given diets supplemented with fermented papaya leaves has been carried out in Kediri-Tabanan for three months. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) that consists of three treatments and five replications, so there were fifteen experimental units. Every unit of the experimental using there balinese duck, one week of old and 76,37 ± 7,48  grams of body weight. The treatments were: R0 (Control diets without fermented papaya leaves), R1 (The diets containing 5% fermented papaya leaves) and R2 (The diets containing 10% fermented papaya leaves). Variables observed in this research were the weight of commercial carcass pieces on and back. The results showed that the fermented papaya leaves supplementation in ration on level 5% generate the highest weight of commercial carcass pieces, but statistically not significant (P>0.05), except on the back.  The weight of backs increased (P< 0.05) 26.0% on R1 treatment and 2.22% in R2 treatment.  The concluded that the fermented papaya leaves in rations increase  weight of back pieces, but no effect on the weight of another commercial carcass were brest, wings, thighs, drumsticks

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui organ dalam ayam kampung yang diberi ransum dengan aditif sari daun pepaya terfementasi telah dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan di kandang milik peternak yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Kediri-Tabanan. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok berasarkan berat badan, sehingga terdapat 16 unit percobaan. Tiap unit percobaan menggunakan 5 ekor ayam kampung umur 4 minggu dengan berat badan berkisar antara 62-149 gram. Keempat perlakuan tersebut, yaitu: A) ransum komersial 70% + dedak jagung 30% sebagai kontrol, B) ransum A + 8% aditif sari daun pepaya terfermentasi, C) ransum A + 12% aditif sari daun pepaya terfermentasi dan D) ransum A + 16% aditif sari daun pepaya terfermentasi. Variabel yang diamati meliputi berat hati, jantung, proventrikulus, ventrikulus dan usus halus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berat hati, jantung, proventrikulus, ventrikulus dan usus halus menunjukan hasil berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan ransum dengan aditif sari daun pepaya terfermentasi pada level 8-16% tidak berpengaruh terhadap berat hati, jantung, proventrikulus, ventrikulus dan usus halus ayam kampung.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine how much the effect of the storage time at room temperature on the quality of chicken eggs with different length of storage time. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Livestock Product Technology and Microbiology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University for a month. The study used a sample of chicken eggs which were maintained extensively as many as 60 eggs. The research design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely: eggs that were stored for 0 day (P0), 7 days (P1), 14 days (P2) and 21 days (P3) at room temperature, each treatment was repeated three times with 5 eggs so that the total was 60 eggs, which aimed to strengthen the research data. Variables observed on egg quality test were; egg weight, eggshell weight, eggshell thickness, egg yolk color and Haugh units of eggs. The results showed there were no significant differences (P>0,05) on egg weight and egg yolk color that was influenced by the duration of storage, although the storage time of 14 days was better than without storage and stored for 7 days but the difference was not significant (P> 0,05), only the storage for 21 days (P3) which was markedly poorer color of egg yolk (P <0,05) compared with P2. While on the other treatments were not statistically significantly different (P> 0,05). Haugh units of eggs constantly decreased during storage. Storage for 14 days (P2) and 21 days (P3) was significantly (P <0,05) lower than P0 and P1, but P2 was not different (P>0,05) compared with P3. It can be concluded from the research result that the storage of chicken eggs reared extensively kept at room temperature for 0, 7, 14 and 21 days decreased the quality but it is still suitable for consumption up to 21 days storage time at room temperature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar air yang sesuai untuk pertumbuhan tanaman dan produksi hijauan tanaman Indigofera zollingeriana. Penelitian di laksanakan selama 15 minggu di Rumah Kaca Stasiun Penelitian Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana, Jalan Raya Sesetan, Gang Markisa Denpasar. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan yaitu : 100%, 90%, 80%, 70%, dan 60% dari kapasitas lapang dengan lima kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun nyata (P<0,05) tertinggi pada pemberian kadar air 100% dari kapasitas lapang yaitu masing-masing 58,80 cm dan 13,80 helai. Demikian juga halnya dengan berat daun, berat batang, berat akar dan berat total hijauan nyata (P<0,05) tertinggi pada pemberian kadar air 100% dibanding perlakuan lainnya, yaitu masing-masing : 10,58% ; 6,82% : 8,04% dan 17,40%. Nisbah berat kering daun dengan batang pada pemberian kadar air 100%, 90% dan 80% tidak menyatakan perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,05) pada pemberian kadar air 70%yaitu 7,74% nyata lebih rendah (P<0,05) dibanding perlakuan A1. Nisbah berat kering total hijauan dengan akar juga nyata terendah (P<0,05) pada perlakuan A4 dibanding A1 yaitu sebesar 10,13%. Pada pemberian kadar air 60%, tidak menyebabkan adanya pertumbuhan maupun produksi.

Abstract

The purpose this research is to know the effect of use 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp in ration on fat distribution and cholesterol serum of broiler. The experiment used of Complete RandomizedDesign (CRD) with three treatments and six replicates, with three birds in each replicated. The treatments were basal diets as control (A), diets with 20% unfermented tofu waste (B), and diets with 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp (C), respectively. Results of this experiment showed that the fat pad of broiler in treatment C were significantly different (P < 0.05) lowerboth than treatment A and B. Total cholesterol serum of broiler in treatment C was lower significantly (P < 0.05) than treatment A, but not significant with treatment B. Mesenteric fat and  ventriculus fat real has no effect in all treatments.  It can be concluded that used of 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp in the ration can lower the percentage of pad fat and total cholesterol serum of broiler; and used of 20% tofu waste unfermented can be decrease total cholesterol serum of broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan terhadap kualitas telur ayam ras yang dipelihara secara intensif telah dilaksanakan di Labaratorium  Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, serta Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Ternak dan Mikrobiologi Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Udayana, Denpasar selama 3 Bulan. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yang didasarkan pada lama waktu penyimpanan yaitu  0 hari penyimpanan (R0), 7 hari ( R1) 14 hari (R2) dan 21 hari (R3) yang masing masing dengan 3 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati yaitu bobot telur, indeks bentuk telur, tebal kulit telur, berat kulit telur, warna kuning telur, dan haugh unit telur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa telur yang diberi perlakuan lama penyimpanan selama 14 hari (R2), dan 21 hari penyimpanan (R3) mempunyai berat kulit telur yang nyata lebih rendah (P<0,05) sebesar 9,23% dan 9,42% dibandingkan dengan penyimpanan 0 hari (R0), namun berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) dengan penyimpanan 7 hari (R1). Terhadap warna kuning telur dan haugh unit (HU) telur, pemberian perlakuan R1, R2, dan R3 mengakibatkan nilai yang lebih rendah dan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan R0. Terhadap bobot telur, indeks telur, tebal kulit telur, pemberian lama waktu penyimpanan tidak memberikan nilai yang berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Abstract

A research has been conducted to determine body dimensions of bali cattle in Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Pembibitan Sapi Bali, Sobangan, Badung for one month from October until November 2016. A total of 288 bali cattle are divided into 8 blocks of cattle shed used in this research. The observed body dimensions are body length, chest circumference, body weight, and body condition score. The Body weight estimation by body dimension and the body condition scores made by direct observation. The results showed that Bali cattle are maintained in Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Pembibitan Sapi Bali, Sobangan, Badung has a good quality because it has a good body dimensions such as average the body lenght were 118,330±6,569- 123,970±5,305 cm, chest circumference chest circumference were 160,740±12,946- 174,060±10,361 cm,  estimated the body weight were 207,020±35,492 - 242,770±29,794 kg and body condition score (BCS) average of 3,500±0,683 - 3,700±0,560.

Abstract

The research aim to determine the provision of katuk leaves extract water (Sauropus androgynus) and moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) through the drinking water for fat distribution  and totally cholesterol of broiler blood. The research design with completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. Each replicates using three broiler aged two weeks with a homogeneous body weight. These three treatments are broiler given drinking water without the water extract of moringa leaves and katuk leaf as control (A), broiler given a water extract of katuk leaves 5% through drinking water (B) and broiler given a water extract of leaves of moringa 5% through the water drink (C). Rations and water were given ad libitum. The variables measured in the research are pads fat, mesentrium fat, ventriculus fat and blood totally cholesterol . The results showed that the percentage of pads fat of broiler drunk extracts of katuk leaves 5% water through drinking water (B) and broiler drunk water extract of moringa leaves 5% through drinking water (C), respectively 29,92% and 22,83% lower and significantly different (P<0.05) compared with treatment A. Mesentrium fat broilers treated B and broilers treated C, respectively were 8,00% and 12,00% lower but they were not significantly different (P>0.05) compared to the treatment A. Ventriculus fat of broiler are treated B and broilers treated C, respectively 23,08% and 17,31% lower significantly (P<0,05) compared with treatment A. While for blood totally cholesterol of broiler given treated B and treated C, respectively 9,34% and 8,62% were significant different (P<0.05) lower compared with treatment A. Based on the results of this research concluded that the giving of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus) and of Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) water extract by 5% through drinking water can lower the percentage of pads fat, ventriculus fat and blood totally cholesterol of broiler.
