Abstract

Gender Roles in the Management of Rice Cultivation, A Case Study on TheFarmers’ Group of Sumber Rejeki at Kalanganyar Village, Karanggeneng Subdistrict,Lamongan Regency, East Java Most women act as housewives, in addition to being active in household activities,rural women are also participating in rice farming activities from land-processing toharvesting. The study aimed to determine the role of gender in rice farming seenfrom three aspects, namely activity profile, access profile, and control profile(decision making). The research method used is survey method with interviewapproach. Data analysis was conducted descriptivelywith qualitative and quantitativemethods. The findings showed that the role of women and men is different in everyfarming activity. (A) The profile of activity in the outpouring of male labor is greaterthan that of women, the average outpouring of male domestic labor is 199.16 hoursper cultivating season and women is 123.41 hours per season with an average landarea of 6, 64 ares. (B) In the access profile, men have greater access of 78.06% whilewomen of 21.94% ,. (C) The women's participation control profile is very lowcompared with men, it means that the pattern of decision making is dominated bymen up to 96.08%. Based on the results of research, it can be suggested that womenshould play an active role in productive and non productive work. Men are advisedalso to assist in the housework to relieve women's work so that the housework is notneglected. It is also expected to involve women in the extension so that they canincrease participation in their farming activities.

Abstract

The Analysis of Consumers’ Behavior Against The Decision on PurchasingFruits in Moena Fresh This research aimed to (1) analyze the process of decision making in purchasing freshfruits in Moena Fresh, (2) analyze the factors which influence the consumers indeciding to purchase fruits in Moena Fresh. The data analysis method that wereused were descriptive analysis to find out the process of decision making inpurchasing the fruits and factor analysis to analyze the factors which influenced theconsumers in deciding to purchase the fruits in Moena Fresh.The results showed some of the steps that consumer passing through beforepurchasing, those were the recognition of needs, search of information, evaluation ofalternatives, purchase, and post-purchase. Factors that influenced the consumers indeciding the purchasing of fresh fruits in Moena Fresh include external factor andinternal factor. External factor that is environment factor that involves variable offreshness of the fruits, fruit hygiene, packaging, price of fruits, cleanliness of therack, service of the store employees, store temperature, and the aroma of the store.Internal factor that is psychological factor that involves variable of the types of thefruits; and also individual differences factor consists of the income of the consumers.Suggestions that can be given that Moena Fresh pay attention to the availality of fruiton order to avoid a product void and consider other factors such as, advertising andsituation of consumer psychology.

Abstract

Competence Analysis of California Papaya Farmers (A Case Study of MertaGiri Kusuma Farmer Group of Abang Village, Abang Sub-District ofKarangasem Regency) The Ministry of Agriculture in the Strategic Plan 2015-2019 has a Gross DomesticProduct target of 3.80% growth in the agricultural sector. Increased farm productivityis realized in the optimal utilization of land potential by applying the concept ofagribusiness maximally. Efforts to increase productivity are conducted by increasingthe competence of farmers namely knowledge, technical and managerial competence.The purpose of the study is to determine the level of competence of farmers, the levelof productivity of California papaya farming, and the relationship betweencompetence with productivity of California papaya farming. The research wasconducted at Merta Giri Kusuma Farmer Group, Abang Village, Abang Sub-District,Karangasem Regency for 5 months. There are 20 members as population or therespondents taken by the census technique. Data analysis method used qualitativedescriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation statistical analysis. In general,the competence of farmers is very significant ly related to the productivity ofCalifornia papaya farming. A very real relationship at the 0.01 level is technicalcompetence with a correlation coefficient of 0.835 and managerial competence witha correlation coefficient of 0,599. While the competence that is significantly relatedto the productivity of farming at the 0.05 level is the knowledge competence with thecorrelation coefficient of 0.465.

Abstract

Determinants of Consumer Decisions in Consuming Sariwangi Dye Tea(Case Study on Tiara Dewata Consumer Group in Denpasar City) The consumers’ decision in purchasing Sariwangi tea bag products is affected byconsumer characteristics and marketing mix elements. These variables affect thebuying decision processes so as to produce a buying decision. This research wasconducted at supermarkets in Denpasar City with the aim to identify the factors thatplay a role in consumer decision to buy Sariwangi tea bags and analyze decisionprocesses of purchasing Sariwangi tea bags by consumers in Denpasar City. In thisresearch, the method used was descriptive-quantitative analysis method andqualitative-descriptive analysis. The results showed that all variables had a role to theconsumer's decision to consume Sariwangi tea, the variable that had the greatest roleto the secondary factor was the social variable with the communality value of17.29%, while the individual variable with the communality value of 10.49% had thelowest role to the consumer's decision to consume Sariwangi tea bags. Consideringthat the seven variables truly have a role to consumer decisions consuming Sariwangitea, then the producer should still pay attention to matters relating to these variables,especially social factors that have the most decisive role.

Abstract

Segmenting, Targeting, and Positioning Strategies of Marketing JatiluwihOrganic Brown Rice in Bali Province A company cannot serve all consumers in a vast market. Therefore, if the companywishes to be in the market and win a competition, it must seek a strategy that canunderstand consumers and competitors. This study aimed to determine the marketsegment (segmenting), target market (targeting) and market position (positioning) oforganic red rice products of Jatiluwih Bali. The technique of determining samplesused accidental non-probabilitiy random sampling method. Segmenting and targetingwere done using cluster analysis and crosstab analysis tools. Positioning used Multidimensional scaling and Corespondence analysis. The results of this study showedthat there were 3 segments, with percentage of Segment-1 (49%), Segment-2 (31%)and Segment-3 (20%). Based on the market appeal, potential target market wassegment-3. Product positioning based on MDS analysis tool, Jatiluwih rice productwas not in any quadrant, so it showed no resemblance to the competitor's product.Positioning based on CA analysis, organic red rice products Jatiluwih Bali hadadvantages in health attributes, packaging and aroma. Suggestions that can be madeare that the company should implement strategies to increase sales by maintaining orincreasing the attributes of excellence, increasing price discounts and maintainingquality, developing promotional activities and diversification of processed red riceproducts.

Abstract

Farmers Knowledge Level in the Use of Organic Fertilizer and Its Applicationin Rice Cultivation (Case in Subak Penarungan, Sub-District of Mengwi,Badung Regency) Public attention to the issue of agriculture and the environment in recent years haveincreased as a result of a big negative impact on the environment, compared with itspositive impact on increasing the productivity of agricultural crops. This encouragesseveral regions to hold organic farming. Organic farming is a natural farming whichin practice trying to avoid the use of chemicals and fertilizers that are poisoning theenvironment with the aim to obtain a healthy environmental condition.This studyaims to determine (1) the level of farmers' knowledge on organic fertilizer; and (3)the application of organic fertilizers by the farmers in the cultivation of lowland rice.The research was conducted at the Subak of Penarungan, Mengwi Sub-District ofBadung Regency. The choice of research location was conducted by purposivesampling. The population of the research was the active members of Subak ofPenarungan totaling of 167 people. The sample size was determined by using theformula of Slovin, so that the number of respondents was 63 people.This researchuse method analysaize descriptive qualitative. The results showed that farmers'knowledge about organic fertilizers can be categorized in the high category withachieving a score of 3.41. However, the application of organic fertilizer by thefarmers is classified in the medium category by achieving a score of 3.05. Based onthe results of this study can be suggested farmers as actors should be more activedoing weeding and want to optimize the use of organic fertilizer as recommended bythe extension. Because the use of sustainable organic fertilizer for the future will givea big influence in soil fertility, quality and not damage the environment.
