Abstract

Empowerment of Subak Penarungan as an Agribusiness Institution in PenarunganVillage, Sub-District of Mengwi, Badung Regency The preservation of subak or Balinese irrigation organization is important because itssustainability in Bali based on the Tri Hita Karana concepts. Subak-based economicbusiness is a food-based agribusiness or paddy fields. The studies on empowerment ofsubak as an agribusiness institution aimed to improve the economy and welfare offarmers, so that the agricultural culture is in demand and not abandoned by the SubakPenarungan community. This study aimed to determine (1) the potentials of subakrelated to natural resources, human resources, and financial resources, (2) the effortsmade to empower Subak Penarungan as an agribusiness institution. The research wasconducted in Subak Penarungan, Mengwi Sub-district, Badung Regency. The selectionof research site was done purposively. The population of this study is active members ofSubak Penarungan, amounting to 167 people. The sample size was determined by usingSlovin formula, so the number of respondents was 63 people. The data analysis used adescriptive qualitative analysis method. The findings showed that the potential of Subakpenarungan was in good category with the average score of 3.55, and the results ofresearch on the efforts of empowerment of Subak Penarungan was in good category,with average achievement score of 3.50. Based on the results of this study, it can besuggested to farmers that the assistance in the form of agricultural machine toolsprovided by the government for subak should be utilized properly, so as to increase theirproductivity.

Abstract

Financial Feasibility Of Dragon Fruits Farming In Urban Area As AdditionalAlternatives Of Farmer’s Revenues This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility of Dragon Fruit Farming in urbanareas. Analyze the sensitivity of Dragon Fruit farming on the changes of productionquantity, product selling price, and production cost. The pilot unit of Dragon FruitFarming in urban area is in Experiment Garden of Faculty of Agriculture UdayanaUniversity. Key informants of this research are garden managers, field officers, fieldworkers in Experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University. Thedata used are Bank Rakyat Indonesia's interest rate, investment cost (seedlingcuttings, climbers, used tires, rope, and equipment), operational cost (fertilizer andlabor), production quantity, and product selling price. Data analysis used analysis ofinvestment criteria and business sensitivity analysis. The results showed that theDragon Fruit Farming in Experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture UdayanaUniversity was profitable so it was feasible to run. The value of farm income is Rp231,453,087, Net B / C value is 4.03. IRR> I is 49.63%> 18%, the rate of paybackfor five years is eight months. This effort is very sensitive to the 50% decline in theselling price.

Abstract

Analysis Customer Satisfaction in Buying Fresh Fruits in Moena Fresh Bali Increased consumption of fruits in the country have an impact on the growth of fruitsales in Indonesia. This increase causes the appearance of stiff competition in thebusiness of fruits. Moena Fresh Bali as one of the companies that sell fresh fruitsmust innovate or improve the shortage so that the consumers do not turn to otherproducts. Consumer behavior may help explain how consumers obtain satisfaction.The purpose of this research is to determine satisfaction of Moena Fresh Baliconsumers and to find out actions to increase customer satisfaction of Moena Fresh.The location of the research was conducted at four Moena Fresh outlets as it wasconsidered to represent consumers in every sub-district in Denpasar City. Thenumber of respondents was as many as 50 respondents and the sampling wasconducted by using accidental sampling. Types of data collected include quantitativeand qualitative data which were sourced from primary and secondary data. Methodsof data collection were by using interview techniques, observation, anddocumentation. Data analysis methods used were descriptive analysis, ImportancePerformance Analysis and Customer Satisfaction Index. Based on the results ofresearch, the calculation of CSI to the attributes of Moena Fresh Bali was 77.6% i.e.it meets the criteria of satisfaction. Based on the Matrix of Importance Performance,product attributes are classified into four quadrants and actions to improve customersatisfaction are through the improvement of attributes that become the main priority,namely the attributes of advertising / promotion, price, and discounts. The studysuggests that Moena Fresh Bali should perform printed and electronic publicationsand set competitive prices to maintain its customers.

Abstract

Prospect of Cocoa Farming Development in Pangsan Village, Petang Sub-District of Badung Regency Cocoa plays an important role for the national economy, especially openingemployment opportunities, sources of income, and foreign exchange. The objectivesof this research are: to investigate the suitability of land for cocoa farming inPangsan Village, financial feasibility of cocoa farming in Pangsan Village, seen frominvestment criteria, and market prospect of cocoa commodity of Pangsan Villageproduction. The analysis used in this research is investment criteria method includingNPV, IRR, and Net B/C for financial feasibility analysis, while land suitability andmarket prospect are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The findings of thestudy showed that : land in Pangsan Village is appropriate (S2) for cocoa farmingand it has low productivity compared to cocoa productivity in Bali and Indonesia,cocoa farming in Pangsan village which is intercropped with coconut and bananatrees is financially feasible to be cultivated, with NPV of Rp 29.454.914,86, IRR of38%, and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C) of 7,68, and the market prospect of cocoaproducts in Pangsan Village is not prospective for foodstuff, because the product ofcocoa produced is not fermented and not certified.

Abstract

The Financial Performance Analysis of Rural Cooperative of Werdhi MendalaIn Batubulan Village Sukawati Sub-District of Gianyar Regency KUD or rural cooperative is expected to be able to realize economic democracy in theefforts to develop cooperatives into an independent people's economic institutions. Thefinancial statements are an important tool for obtaining information related to thefinancial condition and results of cooperative activities. The objectives of the researchare to determine (1) the ability of KUD to fulfill its short term financial obligationassessed from the liquidity ratio, (2) how far is the KUD assets financed by its debtassessed from the solvency ratio, (3) how effective the KUD in using its funding sourceassessed from the activity ratio and (4) the ability of KUD to obtain the Return onInvestment assessed by the profitability ratio. Types of data used in the study arequalitative data and quantitative data with financial ratio analysis as a method of dataanalysis in the research. Data Sources of the study are primary and secondary data. Thekey informants were the Manager and Finance Department of KUD Werdhi Mendala.Data analysis method used is financial ratio analysis. Financial ratios used are the ratioof liquidity, solvency ratio, activity ratio and profitability ratio.The result of ratioanalysis during 2011-2015 shows that liquidity ratio at current ratio and quick ratio issaid to be very inadequate. The solvency ratio in total debt to equity ratio and total debtto total asset are said to be very inadequate. The ratio of activity to total assets turnoveris not good and receivable turnover is said to be very inadequate. Profitability ratio onnet profit margin is said to be quite capable, return of investment / ROI is said to be veryinadequate and return of equity / ROE (Rentability of Own Capital) is said to be quitecapable.

Abstract

The Organic and Non Organic Carrot Farming Analysis (Case Study on P4SEka Setia Lestari, Bangli Village, Baturiti Sub-District, of Tabanan Regency) The objectives of the research are to determine the differences of income of theorganic and non organic carrot farming. The second objective is to find out theconstraints faced by the organic and non organic farmers.The research wasconducted in Bangli Village, Baturiti Sub-District, Tabanan Regency. Determinationof the location is done purposively because Eka Setia Lestari already has organiccertificate and recognized by the LeSos Organic Institute. The respondents werefarmers who planted carrots during the planting season of September - December2015 at P4S Eka Setia Lestari with the number of 24 people. Determination ofrespondents of the research was conducted by census method. The analysis used wasfarm income analysis, Mann Whitney test, and descriptive analysis. The resultsshowed that the organic carrot income was Rp 7,646,446.67 and non-organic carrotincome of Rp 6,191,229.06. Based on the results of Mann Whitney test, it wasobtained significant differences between the incomes of farmers who grew organicand non-organic carrots . The constraint faced by the organic carrot farmers is thatcarrots are more susceptible to pests and diseases attacks while the constraintexperienced by the non-organic carrot farmers is the price fluctuations in the sale ofcarrots in the market.

Abstract

Self-Reliance of Farmers in Managing Vegetable Farming in Denpasar City The development of urban agriculture has many challenges such as the difficulty ofobtaining production inputs, the difficulty of obtaining credit, the limited ofresources, the limited time, and the agricultural sector which is not a priority sector.Difficulties in farming in urban areas can be minimized with the self-sufficiency ofeach farmer. The purpose of the study was to investigate how the performance ofvegetable farming management and how the level of self-sufficiency of vegetablefarmers in Denpasar, as well as what factors influence the self-sufficiency ofvegetable farmers in the city of Denpasar in terms of capital, production andmarketing that are categorized in three classes of measurement i.e. less selfsufficiency,moderate self-sufficiency or full self-sufficiency analyzed by qualitativedescriptive method. The results showed that vegetables farming conducted byfarmers in the city of Denpasar was still classified as a traditional that rely on habits.The self-sufficiency seen from the aspects of capital, production and marketing canbe categorized as medium category. Factors that affect the self-sufficiency in thecapital aspect was age. The self-sufficiency in the aspects of production wasinfluenced by the source of information, and the self-sufficiency in the marketingaspect was influenced by the partnership relationship. Based on the results of theresearch, it is recommended to increase the extension to increase knowledge offarmers related to vegetable agribusiness.

Abstract

Contribution of Cocoa Farming to Farmers Household Incomein Pangsan Village, Petang District, Badung Regency The study aims to determine the sources of cocoa farmers' income, and the largecontribution of cocoa farming to the income of the farmers' households in PangsanVillage, as well as to find out the physical management practices and postharvesthandling applied by the cocoa farmers. The technique of determining the sample wasby using proportional random sampling and the sample was taken randomly to selectthe sample by lottery method with the number of samples of 34 cocoa farmers. Thedata collection was conducted from early February to the end of February 2017. Thestudy used farming analysis to calculate net income and total household income ofcocoa farmers during 2016. The results showed that cocoa farming has the highestcontribution of 70.10% of the total household income of farmers amounting to Rp.85,954,990.80 / year with an average income of Rp. 60,252,258 / year. The physicalmanagement practices of cocoa farming applied by cocoa farmers in Pangsan Villageare in accordance with the physical management practices in the cocoa GoodAgricultural Practices (GAP) guidelines, and it is known that farmers did not applyGood Handling Practices (GHP) to postharvest handling.

Abstract

Marketing Efficiency Analysis of Wine Product by PT. Hatten Bali This research is aimed to acknowledge the system of the marketing channels and itsfunctions, calculate the margins of the marketing and producer share to alsoanalyzing the efficiency of overall products marketing system of hatten wineproducts by PT. Hatten Bali. The methods of data collection used are observation,interviews, and literatur reference. Methods for data collection in this study, wereobservation, interviews, and literatur reference. The samples using of 30 retailersaround Denpasar City and Badung Regency chosen with snowball sampling. Dataanalyzing by descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The results showedthat marketing channels of PT. Hatten Bali involving the retailers from hotels, villas,restaurants, and grocery stores. There are two types of marketing channels, type oneis producer-consumer while type two is producer-retailers-consumer. The highestmarketing margin from type two is recorded 181.000 idr per bottle while the lowestmarketing margin coming from type one is 0.000 idr per bottle. The highestproducer’s share is on type one by 100% and the lowest is on type two by 43.92%.The highest price efficiency is on type two by 222.73% and the lowest is on type oneby 100%. The highest operational efficiency is on type two by 9.279,20% and thelowest recorded is on type one by 3.917,81%. Type one of marketing channels is themost efficient channel based on the analysis of margin marketing, produsen sharesand price efficiency. While type two is the most efficient channel of marketing basedon its operational efficiency analysis.
