Abstract

Public speaking is one of the essential skills that young people need to develop, particularly to enhance soft skills such as self-confidence and effective communication. Many students still experience fear and anxiety when speaking in public, which often leads to passive participation in classroom learning. In response to this issue, this community service activity aimed to improve students' public speaking abilities through practice-based training. The program was conducted at Tarsisius I Junior High School in Jakarta and involved 8th and 9th-grade students. The implementation method included the delivery of material through interactive presentations using PowerPoint, followed by practical public speaking exercises in front of an audience. The program was evaluated through direct observation and the distribution of questionnaires to participants. The results showed that the majority of participants found the training to be both engaging and valuable. This activity demonstrates that public speaking training can serve as a strategic effort to enhance the quality of human resources and foster personal development among students.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is considered an effective solution to address employment issues and potential to stimulate economic growth. This research aims to investigate the influence of entrepreneurial knowledge and family environment on entrepreneurial intention among university students in West Jakarta, mediated by self-efficacy. The research methodology employed is descriptive quantitative, utilizing non-probability sampling and purposive sampling techniques. The sample consists of 196 students from West Jakarta universities. The results indicate that entrepreneurial knowledge has a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intention and students' self-efficacy. Meanwhile, the family environment does not directly affect entrepreneurial intention but has a significant influence on self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is proven to mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial knowledge and family environment with entrepreneurial intention. The contribution of this research is expected to increase the role of universities in providing theoretical and practical knowledge about entrepreneurship and the importance of support from the family environment to motivate entrepreneurship.

This research seeks to explore the influence of motivation, entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and the use of social media on the entrepreneurial success of local coffee shops in Jakarta. Quantitative methods were applied by means of the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, involving 95 local coffee shop entrepreneurs obtained by means of purposive sampling. The evidence suggests that all independent the aggregate determinants elucidate 82.3% regarding the dispersion observed in entrepreneurial success. Furthermore, findings from the hypothesis analyses suggest that motivation, entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and use of social media each positively and significantly affect the success of local coffee shops in Jakarta. These findings underscore that combining internal entrepreneurial factors and the strategic use of social media shapes entrepreneurial success. Abstract

Social entrepreneurship addresses social problems and supports communities. This study aims to determine the effect of social experience on the intention to engage in social entrepreneurship with empathy, moral obligation, and perceived social support as mediating variables among Generation Z in West Jakarta. This study uses a descriptive, quantitative approach, purposive sampling and non-probability methods for sample selection. The sample in this study consists of Generation Z aged 20-27 years who have been involved in social activities and reside in West Jakarta. This study collected questionnaire data online via Google Forms and managed it using SmartPLS 4, version 4.1.1.4. The results of this study show that social experience has a significant, positive impact on empathy, moral obligation, and perceived social support. The study's results show that perceived social support has a substantial, positive effect on the intention to engage in social entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, empathy and moral obligation do not significantly impact on the intention to engage in social entrepreneurship. Additionally, the mediating variable of perceived social support can mediate the influence of social field experience on social entrepreneurship intentions. However, empathy and moral obligation variables cannot mediate the influence of social field experience on social entrepreneurship intentions. This research is expected to enhance knowledge in fostering social entrepreneurship among Generation Z.
