Abstract

Memorising the Qur'an is a form of worship that began during the time of the Prophet Muhammad and has continued to develop to the present day. The process of memorising the Qur'an implemented by career women at the Ahlul Qur'an Institute involves several methods recommended by Qur'an memorisation experts, namely the wahdah, bin-nazar, sima'i, talaqqi, takrir, tahfiz, tasmi', and kitabah methods. Of the various methods of memorising the Qur'an, these can make it easier and faster for career women to memorise. The purpose of this study is to determine the methods, implementation steps, and supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of the Qur'an memorisation methods used by career women at the Ahlul Qur'an Institute in Sebawi Village, Sebawi District, Sambas Regency. The method used in this study is qualitative. The location used for this study is the Ahlul Qur'an Institute in Sebawi Village, Sebawi District, Sambas Regency, while the research subjects are four career women and one informant, who is the head of the institute. The reason for using this method was to explore, observe, or find more accurate data on the methods used by career women to memorise the Qur'an at the Ahlul Qur'an Institute in Sebawi Village, Sebawi Subdistrict, Sambas Regency. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions can be drawn: (1) the methods used by career women in memorising the Qur'an are the verse-by-verse memorisation method, the reading observation method, and the repetition method. (2) The steps in applying the method of memorising the Qur'an among career women at the Ahlul Qur'an Institute in Sebawi Village, Sebawi District, Sambas Regency, are reading verses during prayer, submitting new memorisation, and understanding the verses to be memorised. (3) Supporting and inhibiting factors are the presence of a mentor and the use of the right method. The inhibiting factors are busyness and difficulty in managing time, and memorising using the applied method requires a considerable amount of time to produce quality memorisation.
