Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve financial and technological literacy among early childhood students in Sempu Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency. The activity was motivated by the low understanding of parents and educators regarding the importance of introducing financial and technological concepts from an early age. The method used included four stages: preparation, socialization, training, and mentoring, with a participatory approach. The results showed a significant improvement in parents’ and educators’ understanding of financial and technological literacy after the program. Children demonstrated great enthusiasm in learning basic financial concepts through game-based learning and storytelling, and they began to use digital learning media responsibly. This program had a positive impact on developing frugal habits, simple financial responsibility, and appropriate technology use. Thus, this activity successfully raised community awareness of the importance of preparing financially and technologically literate generations from early childhood.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of early childhood education (ECE) teachers in developing curriculum innovation through the implementation of differentiated learning to support inclusive practices in PAUD (Indonesian early childhood education institutions). The program was implemented through three main stages: needs assessment, capacity-building workshops, and classroom mentoring. A participatory approach was applied to ensure active involvement of teachers throughout the process. Findings show that teachers initially had limited understanding of differentiated learning and tended to apply uniform activities for all children. After participating in workshops and coaching clinics, teachers demonstrated significant improvement in designing lesson plans that incorporated variations in content, process, and product based on children’s readiness, interests, and learning profiles. Classroom mentoring revealed increased teacher confidence in managing differentiated activities and facilitating more inclusive interactions. Teachers also showed better skills in conducting diagnostic assessments and using the results to plan subsequent learning activities. Overall, the program effectively enhanced teachers’ pedagogical competence, improved classroom practices, and fostered a more inclusive and responsive learning environment in PAUD settings. These outcomes indicate that continuous mentoring and collaborative professional development are essential for supporting the successful implementation of differentiated learning within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve children’s reading culture through mentoring in the development of literacy corners in mosque environments in Singodutan Village, Wonogiri Regency. The program was implemented in two mosques that serve as locations for children’s Qur’anic learning activities (TPA) in the afternoon. The service method employed a participatory and community empowerment-based approach through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The activities included providing simple bookshelves, children’s reading books, organizing comfortable reading corners, and assisting children in group reading activities. The results showed that the literacy corners successfully increased children’s enthusiasm and interest in reading. Children became more active in utilizing their free time to read before and after Qur’anic learning activities. In addition, the program created a more educational learning environment, improved children’s social interactions, and strengthened the role of mosques as centers for community education. Although several obstacles were encountered, such as limited book collections and implementation time, the program was successfully carried out with support from mosque administrators, TPA teachers, and the local community. Therefore, the development of literacy corners in mosque environments can serve as an effective strategy to foster a sustainable reading culture among children in the community.
