Abstract

The hospitality industry is a service sector that heavily relies on the quality of human resources in delivering customer service. High service demands require employees to demonstrate strong work engagement in order to perform professionally and maintain guest satisfaction. Work engagement is influenced not only by physical and material factors but also by psychological aspects and personal values experienced in the workplace. This study aims to analyze the effect of job resources and workplace spirituality on employee work engagement at Best Western The Lagoon Hotel Manado. A quantitative survey method was applied to 30 fixed-term contract employees selected through purposive sampling from a population of 60 employees. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that job resources do not significantly affect work engagement, while workplace spirituality has a positive and significant effect on work engagement. These results highlight the importance of creating a meaningful, harmonious, and value-aligned work environment to enhance employee engagement sustainably.
