Abstract

Empowering orphanage children through creativity development is an essential aspect of character building and future preparedness. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to empower orphanage children through creative skills training in making keychains using pipe cleaners as a medium for developing soft skills at Yayasan Mizan Amanah Krukut. Orphanage children often face limited access to non-academic learning activities that can enhance creativity, independence, and self-confidence. This program is designed to be applicative, educational, and participatory to support character formation and their readiness to face social and work challenges. The implementation method includes educational approaches, direct practice, and intensive mentoring. Training materials focus on creating keychain crafts using pipe cleaners and simple accessories that are easily obtained. Activities are designed to instill soft skills values such as creativity, teamwork, discipline, responsibility, communication, and self-confidence. Participants are actively involved in all series of activities from material introduction to completion of works. The results show increased participant enthusiasm, teamwork abilities, and self-confidence of orphanage children in expressing ideas and completing tasks. The keychain products produced reflect improvements in fine motor skills and participants' creativity. Keychain creation training has proven effective as a medium for soft skills development and can be used as a model for sustainable empowerment activities. This activity provides real contributions in supporting orphanage children's development to grow into independent, productive, and competitive individuals.
