Abstract

Abstrak Hipertensi pada usia dewasa muda sering berawal dari perilaku tidak sehat yang terbentuk sejak remaja. Kondisi ini menegaskan pentingnya strategi pencegahan dini guna menurunkan risiko di masa mendatang. Perkembangan teknologi digital memberikan peluang baru dalam promosi kesehatan, salah satunya melalui pendidikan audiovisual berbasis WhatsApp. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas pendidikan audiovisual berbasis WhatsApp terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap pencegahan hipertensi pada remaja dengan riwayat keluarga hipertensi. Desain penelitian menggunakan quasi-eksperimental dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group. Sebanyak 66 remaja berusia 15–18 tahun direkrut dan dibagi rata menjadi kelompok intervensi dan kontrol. Kelompok intervensi memperoleh pendidikan audiovisual dua kali seminggu selama dua minggu melalui WhatsApp, disertai panggilan tindak lanjut dan diskusi chat grup. Kelompok kontrol hanya menerima informasi konvensional.. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji univariat dan bivariat uji-t berpasangan dan independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan (Δ mean=3,909; p<0,001) dan sikap (Δ mean=13,939; p<0,001) pada kelompok intervensi. Pada kelompok kontrol, tidak terdapat peningkatan bermakna pengetahuan (Δ mean=0,545;p=0,068>0,05), namun sikap meningkat signifikan (Δ mean=0.848;p=0,028<0,05) serta memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan pada kedua kelompok dengan p<0,001. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan audiovisual berbasis WhatsApp terbukti efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja berisiko hipertensi. Strategi ini direkomendasikan sebagai inovasi promosi kesehatan digital berbasis komunitas remaja. This condition underscores the importance of early prevention strategies to reduce future risks. The development of digital technology provides new opportunities in health promotion, one of which is through WhatsApp-based audiovisual education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of WhatsApp-based audiovisual education on improving knowledge and attitudes toward hypertension prevention in adolescents with a family history of hypertension. The research design uses a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 66 adolescents aged 15–18 were recruited and evenly divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received audiovisual education twice a week for two weeks via WhatsApp, accompanied by follow-up calls and group chat discussions. The control group only received conventional information. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate tests, including paired and independent t-tests. The research results showed a significant increase in knowledge (Δ mean=3.909; p<0.001) and attitudes (Δ mean=13.939; p<0.001) in the intervention group. In the control group, there was no significant increase in knowledge (Δ mean=0.545; p=0.068>0.05), but attitudes increased significantly (Δ mean=0.848; p=0.028<0.05), and there were significant differences between the two groups with p<0.001. In conclusion, WhatsApp-based audiovisual education has proven effective in improving the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents at risk of hypertension.
