Abstract

Street vendors are business actors who conduct trade using mobile and immobile business facilities. Street vendors typically use city infrastructure (sidewalks), social facilities, public facilities (parks), and government- or private-owned land and buildings, either temporarily or permanently. One activity that has the potential to disrupt public order and cleanliness in Denpasar City is street vendors. The research question is the role of the Denpasar City Government in ensuring the protection of street vendors' rights from a justice perspective. In this study, the researcher went directly to the field to determine the actual conditions. Primary data was obtained directly from field research related to the problem under study, namely interviews. Secondary data was obtained through literature review. Primary data was obtained through fieldwork through observation and interviews. The research results indicate that the role of the Denpasar City Government has been implemented, although not yet fully optimal. Generally, street vendors tend not to fully understand Regional Regulations regarding public order, cleanliness, and aesthetics. This is precisely one factor that contributes to the Metro City Government's role not being optimally implemented. The Denpasar City Government should pay attention to and make efforts to improve the lives of street vendors (PKL), namely through coaching and providing capital as well as policies that support improving the welfare of street vendors (PKL)
