Abstract

This study examines how the spiritual socialization process undertaken by the Indonesian Ahmadiyya shapes their religious identity and influences the dynamics of their social integration within the society. Using a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, this study explores the subjective experiences and meanings constructed by the congregation in practicing their religious teachings. The results show that Ahmadiyya spiritual socialization, collective rituals, and an ethos of devotion, successfully instills a strong and inclusive spiritual identity. This identity, despite often facing theological challenges from mainstream groups, serves as social capital for the congregation to build integration through humanitarian actions, interfaith dialogue, and the application of values of moderation derived from a reinterpretation of the concept of jihad and Quranic ethics. This study concludes that the practice of Ahmadiyya spirituality is not exclusive but rather promotes social integration through a cultural and ethical approach, relevant to efforts to build a peaceful and moderate religious life in Indonesia.
