Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) in supporting the expansion of Yasaka Chicken culinary business branches in Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative case study approach using primary data collected through in-depth interviews with business owners, operational managers, employees, suppliers, and loyal customers, complemented by secondary data from company documents and relevant literature. The analysis was conducted using the nine components of the Business Model Canvas, namely Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partnerships, and Cost Structure. The findings reveal that the successful expansion of Yasaka Chicken branches is strongly influenced by a clear understanding of customer segments, a distinctive value proposition, effective utilization of digital and physical channels, and the implementation of standardized operational procedures across outlets. Strategic partnerships with suppliers and online delivery platforms also contribute significantly to operational efficiency and business scalability. In addition, the identification of revenue streams and cost structures provides valuable support for financial planning and profitability management during expansion. This study demonstrates that the Business Model Canvas serves not only as an analytical framework for evaluating business performance but also as a strategic tool for supporting managerial decision-making and sustainable branch development. The findings contribute to the literature on business model implementation in culinary enterprises and provide practical recommendations for businesses seeking growth in competitive urban markets.

Abstract

This study examines business process improvement in catfish farming enterprises using the Business Process Improvement (BPI) method in Batuliman Indah Village, South Lampung Regency. Catfish farming plays an important role in supporting local livelihoods and meeting increasing market demand; however, many small-scale producers continue to face operational and managerial challenges that reduce efficiency and business sustainability. Data were collected through field observations, semi-structured interviews with 9 respondents consisting of catfish farmers and related stakeholders, and document analysis. The study begins by mapping the existing business processes (As-Is) across key production stages, including pond preparation, seed stocking, feeding, maintenance, harvesting, and marketing. The BPI framework is then applied to identify value-added and non-value-added activities, analyze root causes of process inefficiencies, and design proposed improved processes (To-Be). The findings reveal that major problems in the current business processes include the absence of standardized operating procedures and systematic record-keeping, inefficient feed utilization, unstable water quality management, relatively high fish mortality rates, and strong dependence on intermediaries in the marketing process. Based on the BPI analysis, proposed process improvements focus on workflow simplification, standardization of operational procedures, enhancement of monitoring and documentation systems, and reduction of non-value-added activities. The study concludes that an integrated application of Business Process Improvement can significantly improve operational efficiency, managerial control, and consistency of catfish farming activities, thereby supporting more sustainable and competitive small-scale aquaculture enterprises. The results of this research are expected to provide practical insights for farmers, extension agencies, and policymakers in improving business process management within the fisheries sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer behavior towards design and quality preferences for Bonas Jaya Furniture cabinets in Central Lampung. The increasingly competitive development of the furniture industry requires businesses, particularly MSMEs, to understand consumer behavior patterns in determining purchasing decisions. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with internal informants consisting of business owners, production employees, and marketing staff, as well as external informants in the form of consumers who have used the cabinet products. Data analysis was conducted by examining the stages of consumer behavior, namely need awareness, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase behavior. The results show that consumer preference for Bonas Jaya cabinets is significantly influenced by the suitability of the design to the living space conditions and product quality, including materials, workmanship, and finishing results. Consumers tend to carry out the decision-making process rationally and planned, supported by trust and transparency of information from the business. Positive post-purchase behavior is reflected in the level of consumer satisfaction and the tendency to make repeat purchases and provide recommendations to others. This study is expected to serve as a reference for local furniture businesses in designing product development strategies oriented to consumer needs and preferences..
