Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effects of service quality as a push factor and price perception of alternatives as a pull factor on customer loyalty in Online Food Delivery (OFD) services, with switching costs acting as a mooring factor within the push–pull–mooring framework. Research Methodology: This quantitative study involved 290 OFD users in Indonesia who had used at least two platforms and made at least three transactions in the last 30 days. Data were collected through an online survey and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Results: The results show that service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, indicating that better service performance increases users’ intention to continue using and recommending the platform. The price perception of alternatives does not significantly affect customer loyalty, suggesting that price alone does not determine loyalty in OFD services. Switching costs have a positive and significant influence on customer loyalty, meaning that perceived financial, procedural, and psychological costs of switching encourage users to remain with their current platform. The moderating role of switching costs does not strengthen the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty and does not significantly moderate the relationship between the price perception of alternatives and customer loyalty. Conclusions: Customer loyalty to OFD services is primarily driven by service quality and switching barriers rather than price considerations. Limitations: This study relied on self-reported survey data and focused on urban respondents in Indonesia. Contributions: This study extends the push–pull–mooring framework to explain customer loyalty in the OFD industry.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and the increasing use of premium smartphones such as the iPhone and Samsung indicate that this phenomenon is occurring among various groups in Indonesia. However, the high prices of these products are relatively significant compared to the average income of the population. This phenomenon suggests that consumers' purchasing decisions are not solely influenced by rational considerations but also by psychological factors and value perceptions formed through the products themselves. This study aims to analyze the influence of advertising value on purchase intention among iPhone and Samsung smartphone consumers, as well as to examine the role of hedonic and utilitarian values as moderating variables in this relationship. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The population consists of consumers and prospective consumers of iPhone and Samsung smartphones in two cities in East Java, namely Surabaya, Malang, Kediri, Madiun, and Blitar. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling with a total of 250 respondents. Advertising value is measured using indicators of valuable, useful, and important, while purchase intention is measured through indicators of probability, consideration, willingness to buy, and performance purchase. Hedonic and utilitarian values serve as moderating variables to determine the extent to which consumers' psychological orientations can strengthen or weaken the influence of advertising value on purchase intention. This research is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of consumer behavior literature and advertising effectiveness, as well as provide practical implications for companies in designing marketing strategies that are more aligned with consumer characteristics.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of co-creation value on Umrah pilgrims’ loyalty and investigates the moderating role of digital engagement in the relationship. Grounded in Service-Dominant Logic (SDL), this research emphasizes the importance of customer participation in value creation within service interactions. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of Umrah pilgrims who had experience using Umrah travel services in Jakarta. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that co-creation value has a positive and significant effect on pilgrims’ loyalty, indicating that active customer participation in service processes enhances long-term relationships with the travel agency. However, digital engagement was not found to significantly moderate the relationship between co-creation value and loyalty. These findings suggest that loyalty in Umrah travel services is primarily driven by direct service experiences and value co-creation rather than by digital interaction alone. This study contributes to the Service-Dominant Logic literature by extending the application of co-creation value in the context of religious service marketing and provides practical insights for Umrah travel agencies seeking to strengthen customer loyalty.
