Abstract

Background: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), also known as chronic diseases, are the main cause of death in the world, one of which is hypertension. High blood pressure or hypertension is also called the "Silent Killer" because hypertension does not show any signs. and symptoms in sufferers. Hypertension can be treated pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. Objective: To determine the effect of giving wet cupping on reducing blood pressure in hypertension sufferers in the Sambas Community Health Center working area. Method: The research design used was quasi-experimental with a pretest – posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 people with an experimental group of 15 people and a control group of 15 people. the experimental group was given wet cupping intervention and the control group was given dry cupping. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a decrease in blood pressure after being given wet cupping using the Wilcoxon statistical test and obtained a P Value = 0.000 (P<0.005), So Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that there is an effect of providing wet cupping therapy on reducing blood pressure in hypertension sufferers in the Sambas Community Health Center working area in 2024
