Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based digital attendance system with dual validation using QR Code, selfie verification, and geolocation to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of student attendance recording at SMK Negeri 1 Bojonegoro. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial subjects included 35 students, 1 teacher, and 1 school operator. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The system quality was evaluated using the ISO/IEC 9126 standard, which includes functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, and maintainability, while user satisfaction was measured using a Likert scale. The results showed that the system was successfully developed and could be used according to the school's needs. The system quality test obtained an average score of 4.1 (good category), while the user satisfaction level achieved an average score of 3.9 (good category). The system is considered capable of simplifying the attendance process, accelerating access to attendance data, reducing the potential for attendance fraud, and supporting real-time attendance monitoring. Therefore, this web-based digital attendance system is feasible to be used as a more effective attendance solution in the school environment.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the integration of interactive learning media to improve students' understanding of abstract concepts. This study aimed to develop a web-based interactive learning media for Computer Networking subjects and evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' conceptual understanding. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Four-D (4D) model, consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The participants included one material expert, one media expert, one vocational school teacher, and 30 tenth-grade students of SMK Al-Muhammad Cepu. Data were collected through observations, interviews, validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pretest-posttest assessments. The developed learning media integrates digital learning materials, instructional videos, interactive quizzes, automatic scoring, and learning progress reports within a web-based platform. The validation results indicated that the media achieved an average score of 4.38 from the media expert and 4.50 from the material expert, both categorized as highly valid. Practicality assessment showed excellent results, with teacher and student responses reaching 100% and 88.4%, respectively. Furthermore, the effectiveness test produced an N-Gain score of 0.91, indicating a high improvement in students' conceptual understanding. These findings demonstrate that the developed web-based interactive learning media is valid, practical, and effective for supporting Computer Networking learning in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Narrative writing requires high-order cognitive processing, yet conventional static instruction frequently fails to provide adequate cognitive scaffolding, resulting in student writer's block and cognitive overload. This study investigates the impact of an Interactive Digital Storytelling (IDS) platform on secondary students' narrative writing performance and cognitive load allocation using a quantitative true experimental pretest-posttest control group design (). Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental cohort utilising IDS or a control cohort receiving conventional text-based instruction. Outcomes were evaluated via analytic writing rubrics, a tri-dimensional cognitive load scale, and multivariate analysis of variance. Results revealed a statistically significant overall treatment effect for IDS (). The experimental group achieved significantly higher posttest writing scores () than the control group (), demonstrating marked improvements in plot organisation and lexical diversity. Crucially, while intrinsic cognitive load remained equivalent between groups, the IDS platform significantly reduced extraneous cognitive load ( vs ) and increased germane cognitive load ( vs ). In conclusion, ergonomically designed interactive media act as cognitive amplifiers by streamlining interface mechanics and optimizing human working memory for creative schema construction in language pedagogy.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged schools to integrate innovative learning media into classroom instruction. However, the learning process of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at SMP Negeri 1 Senori still relies on conventional teaching methods, such as lectures and PowerPoint presentations, which limit students' engagement and conceptual understanding of computer hardware and software. This study aimed to develop an interactive web-based learning media and evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The developed product integrates multimedia components, including text, images, videos, animations, and interactive quizzes within a web-based platform accessible through computers and mobile devices. Product quality was evaluated by media experts and subject matter experts, while practicality was assessed through teacher and student responses. Effectiveness was determined using pre-test and post-test scores as well as students' learning motivation questionnaires. The findings indicate that the developed learning media fulfills the criteria of valid, practical, and effective instructional media. Furthermore, the integration of multimedia and interactive features facilitates active learning, enhances conceptual understanding of computer hardware and software, and increases students' motivation during classroom instruction. Therefore, the proposed web-based learning media can serve as an effective digital learning resource for ICT learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) is driving the development of monitoring systems capable of improving the efficiency of resource management, including in water management systems. This research aims to develop an IoT-based Smart Water Tank Monitoring system to support the real-time monitoring of water levels on campus. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The system developed integrates an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, an ESP32 microcontroller, a local web-based dashboard, LED indicators, and historical data storage. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and system testing. The data were analysed using quantitative descriptive analysis, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Black Box Testing. The results of the study indicate that the system is capable of automatically monitoring water conditions, displaying information in real time, improving the effectiveness of monitoring, and supporting the efficient management of water resources.
