Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of planting media composition and Hormax growth regulator concentration on the growth of breadfruit cuttings. It was conducted at the Gowa Permanent Nursery, Forest Plant Seed Center Region II, South Sulawesi Province, from March to August 2025. The study was in the form of a two-factor factorial experiment arranged based on a completely randomized design. The first factor was the composition of the planting media, consisting of three levels, namely: Soil + rice husk charcoal + tea leaf compost, soil + rice husk charcoal + goat manure compost, and soil + rice husk charcoal + cow manure compost. The second factor was the concentration of growth regulators, consisting of four levels, namely: 0, 3, 6 and 9 ml/L of water. The results showed that the composition of the planting media of soil + rice husk charcoal + goat manure compost had a better effect on shoot height of 16.3 cm, leaf length of 17.1 cm, leaf width of 7.9 cm and leaf area of ??94.5 cm2. The concentration of growth regulators up to 9 ml/L of water had no significant effect on the observed parameters. The interaction between the composition of the planting media and the concentration of growth regulators had no significant effect on the growth of cuttings, but the combination of the treatment of planting media of soil, rice husk charcoal, goat manure compost with 9 ml/L of water growth regulators tended to have a better effect on the number of leaves of 9, shoot diameter of 5.9 mm and root length of 23.3 cm.
