Abstract

One of the Tofu MSME in Cilegon faces various challenges in its production process, including long waiting times and suboptimal factory layout. This study aims to analyze the suitability between simulation results using FlexSim software and real system data to ensure the validity of the simulation model and provide recommendations for improving the production system. The simulation model was created based on actual operational data and analyzed through the Shapiro Wilk normality test and paired t-test. The results of the validity test showed a p-value of 0.7374 for the normality test and 0.9361 for the paired t-test, indicating that the simulation model is valid and in accordance with the real system. Recommendations for improvement include relaying workstation layouts, optimizing production process flow, and reducing bottlenecks at several workstations. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce waiting times, and increase productivity. Simulations with the proposed layout showed increased time efficiency and a more optimal station layout compared to the existing layout. This study provides an important contribution to optimizing the production process through a valid simulation approach, so that it can be used as a decision-making tool for future improvement scenarios.
