Abstract

Teachers play a strategic role as architects of civilization through an educational process that goes beyond the transfer of knowledge to include the instilling of moral and spiritual values. From the perspective of Islamic education, the position of teachers is increasingly central because they are not merely instructors but also educators, mentors, and role models for students. This article aims to examine in-depth the role of teachers as builders of civilization through the lens of professional ethics in the context of Islamic education. Using a literature review method and a descriptive qualitative approach, this study attempts to outline the ethical principles that must be upheld by a Muslim educator. The results show that the professional ethics of teachers in Islam are built on fundamental pillars such as integrity, sincerity, responsibility, exemplary behavior, and trustworthiness. These values not only regulate professional relationships but also serve as a moral foundation for shaping students' character. Their consistent application in educational practice is believed to produce a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also virtuous and devout. Ultimately, the quality of teacher ethics is the primary determinant in building an Islamic civilization that is superior, dignified, and capable of responding to the challenges of the times. Thus, strengthening the professional ethics of teachers is a crucial investment for the future of civilization itself.
