Abstract

Pameran telah menjadi tradisi dan ajak eksis yang berfungsi sebagai ruang eksperimen artistik dan sosial. Mahasiswa tidak sebatas menampilkan karya, tetapi mempraktikkan peran sebagai pengelola pameran, kurator, dan agen publik yang menjembatani karya seni dengan masyarakat luas. Mengkaji pameran seni dari aspek manajemen dan kuratorial dalam menjaring partisipasi publik. Metode menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif melalui observasi pameran, wawancara dengan pengelola mahasiswa dan dosen pembimbing, serta analisis dokumentasi pameran, menyoroti praktik tata kelola pameran sebagai pembelajaran kuratorial dan manajerial di pendidikan tinggi. Hasil penelitian tata kelola pameran: (1) perencanaan dan operasi manajerial mahasiswa; (2) kuratorial mulai dari pemilihan karya, kurasi ruang hingga komunikasinya; dan (3) pelibatan publik melalui aktivitas kunjungan, diskusi karya, dan media sosial kampus. Namun, terdapat tantangan seperti anggaran, kurangnya SDM khusus, dan kualitas partisipasi publik. Bahasan penelitian tentang rekomendasi bagaimana model tata kelola pameran yang lebih sistematis, kolaborasi antar-stakeholder kampus dan masyarakat, penguatan aspek komunikasi dan evaluasi bagi pengunjung. Simpulannya, tata kelola pameran seni di lingkungan perguruan tinggi merupakan bagian dari ekosistem pendidikan seni dan praktik produksi kreatif. Praktik cukup baik dari sisi manajemen, kuratorial, dan partisipasi publik, dengan mahasiswa sebagai pelaku utama. Terdapat kendala keterbatasan sumber daya, kurangnya pelatihan kuratorial formal, dan partisipasi publik yang belum maksimal.Governance of Art Exhibitions in Higher Education: Management, Curatorial and Public Participation Studies ABSTRACT Exhibitions have become a tradition and an invitation to exist, serving as spaces for artistic and social experimentation. Students are not limited to displaying works but also practice the roles of exhibition managers, curators, and public agents who bridge works of art and the wider community. Examining art exhibitions from a management and curatorial aspect in gathering public participation. The method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through exhibition observation, interviews with student managers and supervisors, and analysis of exhibition documentation, highlighting exhibition governance practices as curatorial and managerial learning in higher education. The results of the exhibition governance research: (1) student managerial planning and operations; (2) curatorial, starting from the selection of works, curating space to communication; and (3) public involvement through visiting activities, work discussions, and campus social media. However, there are challenges such as budget, lack of specialized human resources, and the quality of public participation. The research discussion is about recommendations for a more systematic exhibition governance model, collaboration between campus stakeholders and the community, and strengthening communication and evaluation aspects for visitors. The conclusion is the governance of art exhibitions in the university environment as part of the arts education ecosystem and creative production practices. Practices are quite good in terms of management, curatorial, and public participation, with students as the primary actors. There are challenges such as limited resources, a lack of formal curatorial training, and suboptimal public participation.
