Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan upaya pelestarian budaya dan peningkatan keterampilan bermusik siswa melalui pelatihan musik tradisional Lampung. Fokus utama tulisan ini adalah menganalisis proses transformasi kemampuan teknis siswa dalam memainkan instrumen tradisi serta efektivitas metode pendampingan yang diterapkan. Subjek kegiatan terdiri dari 20 siswa kelompok musikal SMA N 1 Kotabumi yang sebelumnya hanya terpapar alat musik modern. Metode yang digunakan meliputi demonstrasi, drill, serta pendampingan berbasis media digital (WhatsApp, Zoom, dan YouTube). Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur perkembangan signifikan peserta. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan yang nyata, yaitu peserta mampu memainkan instrumen gamolan, serdapan, peting, dan tunggal, serta melantunkan sastra lisan khas Lampung Pepadun dengan baik. Keberhasilan ini tidak hanya menghasilkan pemain musik tradisi yang berkualitas di lingkungan sekolah, tetapi juga meningkatkan apresiasi generasi muda terhadap identitas budaya lokal. Peran mitra dalam menyediakan sarana latihan dan dukungan administratif menjadi faktor pendukung utama keberhasilan program ini. Dokumentasi hasil akhir telah dipublikasikan melalui kanal YouTube sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban karya dan media pembelajaran berkelanjutan.This paper aims to describe cultural preservation efforts and the enhancement of students' musical skills through traditional Lampung music training. The primary focus is to analyze the transformation of students' technical abilities in playing traditional instruments and the effectiveness of the mentoring methods applied. The subjects were 20 students from the SMA N 1 Kotabumi musical group, who had previously been exposed only to modern musical instruments. The methods employed included demonstrations, drills, and digital-based mentoring via WhatsApp, Zoom, and YouTube. Evaluations were conducted through pre-tests and post-tests to measure significant progress among participants. The training results indicated substantial improvement in skills; participants successfully mastered the Gamolan, Serdapan, and Peting Tunggal instruments, as well as the recitation of Lampung Pepadun oral literature. This success not only produced skilled and high-quality traditional musicians within the school environment but also fostered a deeper appreciation among the younger generation for local cultural identity. The role of partners in providing practice facilities and administrative support was a key factor in the program's success. Final documentation has been published on YouTube as a form of accountability and as a sustainable learning medium.
